    • Ranger Suárez struggles in loss to Braves Saturday
Ranger Suárez had his second straight rough outing in Saturday’s loss to the Braves, surrendering five runs on six hits over his five innings of work.

Advice: The 28-year-old southpaw racked up seven strikeouts on the night while issuing a pair of free passes. Most of the damage done against him came via the long ball, with Marcell Ozuna clubbing a two-run homer to cap off a three-run first inning and Ozzie Albies smacking a two-run homer in the fifth. Suárez got 13 swings and misses on 91 pitches on the night, registering a CSW of 27 percent. This was the third straight rough start for Suárez who has seen his impeccable 1.75 ERA swell to 2.58. He’ll look to get back on track and finish the first half strong when he takes on the Athletics at home on Friday. Rotoworld Today, 7:24 pm
    • Homer, steal in loss
Devers went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base in a 14-4 loss to the Yankees on Saturday.

Advice: Devers hit an RBI single in the third inning before stealing second and coming around to score later in the frame. He then chased Gerrit Cole in the fifth with his 26th career home run against the Yankees. The steal was just his second of the season, but the 27-year-old has slashed a fantastic .287/.373/.570 with 19 home runs, 53 RBI and 54 runs scored over 332 plate appearances. • Abrams belts 14th home run against Cardinals
CJ Abrams went 1-for-3 with a walk, a solo home run and three runs scored against the Cardinals on Saturday.

Advice: Abrams started the scoring with a solo home run in the first inning and the route was on from there as the Nationals cruised to a 14-6 victory. It was his 14th home run of the season. Abrams is hitting .280 with an .856 OPS and 46 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Today, 4:48 pm

    • Gore allows five runs in no-decision Saturday
Mackenzie Gore allowed five runs in 3 1/3 innings and got a no-decision in the Nationals’ 14-6 victory over the Cardinals on Saturday.

Advice: Gore gave up six hits, walked five and struck out five. The Nationals led 9-0 after two innings and Gore still couldn’t complete the necessary five innings to get the win. He’s allowed five runs in two of his last three starts and has a 3.83 ERA on the year. The 25-year-old left-hander is set to face the Mets on the road next week.

    • Kwan belts ninth home run in win Saturday
Steven Kwan went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a solo home run against the Giants on Saturday.

Advice: Kwan’s home run was his ninth of the season. He hit a single in the first inning against Kyle Harrison and came around to score on an RBI groundout by Josh Naylor. In the second inning, he homered off Harrison. That’ll do. Kwan is hitting .365 with a .963 OPS and 27 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Today, 3:58 pm

    • Garrett Crochet goes four innings in start vs. MIA
Garrett Crochet allows three runs in four innings against the Marlins on Saturday.

Advice: Much has been made of Crochet being on a limited pitch count in his first year as a starter, but he likely wouldn’t have gone deep even without said limit. On top of giving up his three runs, he needed 93 pitches to get through those four innings while walking three and striking out five. Crochet has been a heck of a find in 2024, but there’s likely to be an awful lot of three-to-five inning starts in the second half of the campaign. Keep that risk in mind. • Rafael Devers slugs 19th homer vs. Yankees
Rafael Devers went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored, and two RBI against the Yankees on Saturday.

Advice: Devers knocked a base hit in the third inning to put the Red Sox on the board. He then stole second and scored on a single by Masataka Yoshida. Devers later took Gerrit Cole deep with a solo homer in the fifth. The 27-year-old third baseman is up to 19 homers while slashing .286/.372/.568 with 54 runs scored and 53 RBI across 333 plate appearances. Rotoworld Today, 1:13 pm

    • White Sox plan to limit Garrett Crochet’s workload
White Sox manager Pedro Grifol told reporters Saturday that Garrett Crochet will likely have a limited pitch count in his final start prior to the All-Star break.

Advice: Crochet has been the biggest name floated as a possible trade candidate in the coming weeks and it’s going to take a considerable haul to meet Chicago’s asking price. The 25-year-old southpaw has managed to stay healthy and finally put everything together in a stellar first-half breakthrough, so it doesn’t come as a surprise that the White Sox are going to limit his workload leading up to the trade deadline in a few weeks. • Plates three runs Friday
Merrill went 1-for-4 with a triple and three RBI in a 10-8 win against Arizona on Friday.

Advice: Merrill knocked in San Diego's first run on a groundout in the second inning and added a two-run triple in the fourth. The outfielder also put an end to a streak of three games in which he had struck out multiple times. Despite that recent stretch, punchouts haven't been a problem for Merrill in the majors -- he has a very tolerable 17.0 percent strikeout rate through 323 plate appearances. The rookie is proving to be a capable big-league hitter, slashing .289/.321/.456 with 12 home runs, 46 RBI, 40 runs and 10 stolen bases through 88 games. Rotowire.com Today, 7:27 am
