    • Christian Yelich crushes game-tying homer Saturday
Christian Yelich crushed a game-tying solo homer in the eighth inning on Saturday, but it wasn’t enough to lead the Brewers past the Dodgers.

Advice: Yelich clobbered an Evan Phillips sweeper for a 429-foot (108.4 mph EV) game-tying solo shot in the top half of the eighth inning. It was all for nought though as the Dodgers belted a pair of homers of their own in the bottom half of the frame to regain command. The 32-year-old All-Star outfielder finished the evening 1-for-4 and is now hitting .322/.400/.512 with 10 homers, 38 RBI and 19 stolen bases on the season. Rotoworld 40 minutes ago
    • Freddy Peralta lasts four innings in no-decision
Freddy Peralta lasted just four innings in a no-decision against the Dodgers on Saturday, surrendering three runs on four hits and three walks.

Advice: The 28-year-old right-hander punched out four batters on the night. He served up a two-run homer to Will Smith before he recorded an out in the ballgame then allowed a third run as Andy Pages bounced into a fielder’s choice in the opening inning. He settled in nicely afterwards, but still needed 104 pitches (64 strikes) to get through 12 outs. Peralta got a whopping 21 swings and misses on the night — 10 of those on his slider — while posting a CSW of 29 percent. He’ll look to finish the first half strong as he totes a 3.95 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and a 124/36 K/BB ratio (98 innings) into Friday’s showdown against the Nationals. Rotoworld 41 minutes ago
    • Getting breather Saturday
Moreno is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against San Diego.

Advice: Moreno had started in four straight games since being activated from the injured list and will yield to Jose Herrera behind the dish Saturday. Moreno owns a .714 OPS and a 15.3 percent K rate across 235 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Today, 5:03 pm
    • Kyle Tucker (shin) resumes jogging on Friday
Astros manager Joe Espada told reporters that Kyle Tucker (shin) resumed jogging on Friday.

Advice: Tucker, who has been out since early June due to a right shin bruise, was able to resume hitting a couple weeks ago, and has finally resumed running again. The 27-year-old fantasy superstar isn’t going to make it back until after the upcoming Midsummer Classic, but it sounds like he’s finally starting to make some actual progress in his recovery. We don’t want to speculate wildly, but it seems like Tucker was recovering from something more serious than a mere contusion, but there’s been nothing official from the club on that front. • Goes yard again
Riley went 1-for-3 with a walk, a two-run home run and a second run scored in Friday's loss to the Phillies.

Advice: Aaron Nola let a sinker catch too much of the plate in the fourth inning, and Riley drove it over the wall in center field for Atlanta's first runs of the night. The third baseman has an extra-base hit and at least one RBI in four straight games, and over his last 20 contests he's slashing .362/.438/.797 with six doubles, eight homers, 17 runs and 17 RBI. • Another big performance
Pena went 3-for-5 with three RBI and three runs scored Friday against the Twins.

Advice: Pena delivered a pair of RBI singles and a sacrifice fly to account for his production. That continued a strong run, as across his last 15 games Pena has maintained a .298 batting average with two homers, 14 RBI and 11 runs scored. His .118 across 86 games exactly matches his mark from 2023, though he's on pace to easily set new career highs in RBI and stolen bases while also hitting .285. Rotowire.com Today, 7:36 am

    • Reaches three times in win
Happ went 2-for-3 with a walk and two RBI in Friday's 5-1 win over the Angels.

Advice: A day after going 4-for-4 at the plate, Happ remained hot. The outfielder has eight RBI over the last two games, bringing his season total to 52. He had a career-high 84 RBI last year, and Happ could make a run at that total in 2024 if he maintains something close to his recent level of production. Rotowire.com Today, 6:19 am

    • Strikes out eight in win
Skenes (5-0) earned the win against the Mets on Friday, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks with eight strikeouts over seven innings.

Advice: Skenes surrendered a solo home run in the third inning and another run in the fourth but was otherwise fantastic. According to The Athletic, he is the first pitcher in major-league history to record seven or more strikeouts in nine of his first 10 career starts. The rookie has not lost a game this season and owns a 2.12 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 78:12 K:BB over 59.1 innings. He lines up for a road matchup with the Brewers next week. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:00 pm

    • Paul Skenes strikes out eight Mets in win
Paul Skenes allowed two earned runs across seven innings on Friday in the Pirates’ lopsided 14-2 win over the Mets. He struck out eight and walked two en route to the win.

Advice: Skenes got better as this game went on. He retired 10 of the final 11 batters he faced and the one that reached was an infield single where Jose Iglesias was ruled out on the field before it was reviewed. He threw nearly the same number of fastballs and splinkers in this game, the third straight start he mixed them virtually evenly. He also threw his slider 23% of the time. That was the first time he’s thrown it that often since May 29th. Alone, all three of those pitches are awesome. Together with his velocity and command makes him one of the best pitchers in baseball.
