• Possible return Monday
Nootbaar (oblique) is nearing a return and could rejoin the Cardinals as soon as Monday in Washington.

Advice: Nootbaar has been out since May 30 while recovering from a left oblique strain, but he appears to be on the cusp of being activated from the 15-day injured list. The outfielder went 6-for-23 with two home runs, three RBI and four runs scored over seven games during his rehab assignment with Double-A Springfield before returning to St. Louis. • George Springer blasts three-run homer as Jays win
George Springer continued his hot hitting in Sunday’s extra-inning 5-4 victory over the Mariners, going 1-for-5 with a three-run homer.

Advice: Springer turned the game on its head and started the comeback for the Jays, crushing a game-tying 400-foot (106.9 mph EV) three-run homer off of Ryne Stanek in the seventh inning that knotted things up at 4-4. That would be his only hit on the night but played a critical role in the come-from-behind victory. On the season, the 34-year-old outfielder is now slashing .221/.311/.361 with 10 homers and 31 RBI. • Christian Yelich homers, plates three to lead Crew
Christian Yelich went 3-for-4 with a homer, double, three runs scored and three RBI on Sunday afternoon, leading the Brewers to a 9-2 rout of the Dodgers in Los Angeles.

Advice: Yelich opened the scoring in Sunday’s contest with a 418-foot (107.2 mph EV) two-run blast off of rookie left-hander Justin Wrobleski in the fourth inning. He then singled and scored on a two-run knock by Blake Perkins in the eighth inning. Yelich also tacked on an RBI double in the ninth and scored on a double by Garrett Mitchell. He’s having an outstanding season in the middle of the Brewers’ lineup, slashing .329/.407/.533 with 11 homers, 41 RBI and 19 stolen bases. Rotoworld Sunday, 4:12 pm
  • Sitting versus southpaw
Frelick is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers.

Advice: Frelick is 1-for-13 with two walks and two runs over his past four games and will sit Sunday with lefty Justin Wrobleski taking the mound for Los Angeles. Jackson Chourio, Blake Perkins and Garrett Mitchell will start from left to right in the outfield for the series finale. Rotowire.com Sunday, 12:51 pm

  • Returning to bench Sunday
Hampson is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.

Advice: Hampson picked up starts at second base and center field the past two games while the Royals faced off against a pair of lefties, going 0-for-7 with an RBI between those contests. The Royals should continue to open up regular playing time for the utility player versus left-handed pitching, but Hampson's opportunities to play against righties are expected to remain limited. • Three hits in Saturday's win
Nimmo went 3-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Pirates.

Advice: The multi-hit performance was his third in his last six games, while Nimmo is 8-for-8 in stolen base attempts through 82 contests -- his career high is nine steals, set back in 2018. The 31-year-old has found his groove at the plate, and since the beginning of June he's slashing .312/.400/.560 through 125 plate appearances with six homers, four steals, 23 RBI and 26 runs. • Done with rehab assignment
Nootbaar (oblique) said Saturday that he has finished his rehab assignment with Double-A Springfield and is heading to St. Louis, Rob Rains of StLSportsPage.com reports.

Advice: Nootbaar spoke to Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol on Saturday, and though his rehab assignment is now completed, it's unclear if the outfielder will be reinstated from the 10-day injured list before the big club's series in Washington comes to an end Monday. After Monday's contest, the Cardinals will return to St. Louis to kick off a five-game homestand that begins Tuesday versus the Royals. Rotowire.com Saturday, 8:00 pm

  • Christian Yelich crushes game-tying homer Saturday
Christian Yelich crushed a game-tying solo homer in the eighth inning on Saturday, but it wasn’t enough to lead the Brewers past the Dodgers.

Advice: Yelich clobbered an Evan Phillips sweeper for a 429-foot (108.4 mph EV) game-tying solo shot in the top half of the eighth inning. It was all for nought though as the Dodgers belted a pair of homers of their own in the bottom half of the frame to regain command. The 32-year-old All-Star outfielder finished the evening 1-for-4 and is now hitting .322/.400/.512 with 10 homers, 38 RBI and 19 stolen bases on the season. Rotoworld Saturday, 7:15 pm
  • Nimmo has three-hit game in win against Pirates
Brandon Nimmo went 3-for-5 with a run scored and a stolen base against the Pirates on Saturday.

Advice: Nimmo’s stolen base was his eighth of the year. He was 0-for-10 with two walks in his last three games. Nimmo is hitting .249 with an .810 OPS and 52 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Saturday, 4:17 pm
