    • Pete Alonso returns to lineup Friday vs. D-backs
Pete Alonso went 1-for-5 with an RBI on Friday against the Diamondbacks in his return to the Mets’ lineup.

Advice: Alonso was able to come off the bench and deliver a pinch-hit double during Thursday’s series opener, less than 24 hours after being diagnosed with a bone bruise in his right hand. The 29-year-old impending free agent was back in New York’s lineup on Friday night and should be good to go moving forward. Rotoworld Today, 4:45 am

    • Pitches well versus Giants
Stroman (5-2) allowed two runs on six hits and two walks while striking out two over 7.1 innings to earn the win over the Giants on Friday.

Advice: Stroman has pitched into the eighth inning in two of his last four starts, allowing just three runs over 26.2 innings in that span. During his hot stretch, he's posted a 15:7 K:BB, but that's about the only weak spot in his game right now. Stroman is at a 2.73 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 55:29 K:BB over 69.1 innings across 12 starts. He'll look to keep rolling in his next start, which is tentatively projected to be at home versus the Twins. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:38 pm
    • Marcus Stroman pitches into eighth in victory
Marcus Stroman gave up two runs over 7 2/3 innings to get a win Friday over the Giants.

Advice: Stroman allowed six hits with a pair of walks while striking out only two. The punchouts are not the 33-year-old’s strength, but he limits the hard contact and works deep enough into games to give fantasy managers a reason to smile more often than not. He now owns a 2.76 ERA in his first season as a New York Yankee, and he’ll have a chance to lower that solid number further against the Twins next week. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:57 pm
    • Secures 17th save
Suarez picked up the save Friday against Kansas City. He pitched one-third of an inning with no strikeouts, allowing no runs on one hit.

Advice: Suarez entered to collect the last out in a bases-loaded jam with a five-run lead. After yielding a two-RBI single to Freddy Fermin, the San Diego closer induced a Nelson Velazquez flyout to secure the win. Suarez is now tied with Emmanuel Clase for second in the majors with 17 saves, trailing Ryan Helsley by one. The 33-year-old righty has been brilliant as the Padres closer this year, firing a 0.72 ERA, 0.72 WHIP and 24:5 K:BB over 25 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:12 pm
    • Robert Suárez gets one-out save against Royals
Robert Suárez retired one of the two batters he faced for a save Friday against the Royals.

Advice: The Padres were up 11-3 heading to the bottom of the ninth, but Stephen Kolek gave up hits to six of the eight batters he faced. That created a save situation for Suárez with the bases loaded in an 11-6 game. Suárez gave up a two-run single to the first batter he faced and then retired Nelson Velázquez for his 17th and easiest save of the year. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:00 pm
    • Lars Nootbaar (oblique) to miss several weeks
Cardinals’ manager Oli Marmol told reporters on Friday that Lars Nootbaar is dealing with a moderate oblique strain and is expected to miss several weeks.

Advice: It won’t be a minimum stint on the injured list for the 26-year-old outfielder this time around. It sounds like he’s looking at an extended absence and will then require a minor league rehab assignment before he’s able to return to the Cardinals’ outfield. Look for Alec Burleson to see increased action in Nootbaar’s absence. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:40 pm

    • Facing long-term absence
Manager Oli Marmol said Friday that Nootbar (oblique) is expected to miss several weeks, John Denton of MLB.com

Advice: On top of what seems to be a multi-week absence, Nootbar will need at least a week-long rehab assignment in the minors, meaning the 26-year-old may miss the entirety of June. While he's sidelined, Alec Burleson should serve as St. Louis' everyday right fielder, while Matt Carpenter should see the brunt of the DH work. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:29 pm

    • Jeremy Peña getting a night off on Friday
Jeremy Peña is not in the Astros’ starting lineup for Friday night’s showdown against the Twins.

Advice: It’s nothing more than a routine night off for the 26-year-old shortstop. Mauricio Dubon will start in his place and will bat seventh for the Astros against Pablo Lopez and the Twins on Friday evening in Houston. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:14 pm

    • Getting first day off
Pena is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Minnesota, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Advice: Pena had started each of Houston's 57 games this season but will receive his first day off Friday amid a 1-for-16 slump. Mauricio Dubon will play shortstop and bat seventh Friday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:14 pm
