    • Opens with two scoreless frames
Faedo allowed one hit while striking out two batters in two scoreless innings as the opener in Detroit's win over Cincinnati on Saturday.

Advice: Faedo began the Tigers' bullpen game and got the job done with two scoreless innings. It marked the first time the right-hander opened a contest this season. This is Faedo's first campaign as a full-time reliever in the majors, and he's posted a 3.18 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 35:15 K:BB over 39.2 frames. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:49 pm

    • Picks up fourth save
Green notched a save against the Mariners on Saturday, allowing one run on one hit while striking out two batters over 1.1 innings.

Advice: Green was deployed with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning and struck out Cal Raleigh to preserve a two-run Toronto lead. He returned in the ninth frame and worked around a one-out solo shot by Luke Raley to nail down the save. Green has two saves over the past four days and has allowed just three earned runs -- all on solo homers -- over 21 innings since the start of April. However, he could see fewer closing opportunities with Yimi Garcia nearing his return from an elbow injury. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:26 pm
    • Making progress
Rogers (shoulder) is rehabbing at the team's training facility in Arizona, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Rogers has resumed throwing and is expected to begin a rehab assignment within a week or two. The team hasn't provided an exact timeline, but he could return at some point in July. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:23 pm

    • Resumes throwing
Bird (groin) resumed throwing Friday, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Bird had been shut down since June 23, with Friday marking his first known progress since being placed on the injured list. Manager Bud Black noted that Bird is close to returning to the mound, but he did not provide a timeline for Bird to be activated from the injured list. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:20 pm

    • Alex Vesia closes out Brewers on Saturday night
Alex Vesia picked up his fifth save of the season on Saturday night, working a scoreless ninth inning to protect a two-run lead against the Brewers.

Advice: The Dodgers deployed Evan Phillips in the eighth inning to face the heart of the Brewers’ lineup with a one-run lead, and he served up a game-tying homer to Christian Yelich. The Dodgers answered right back with a pair of runs of their own though and Vesia came on to make sure that it stood up. He got Rhys Hoskins on a swinging third strike, Blake Perkins on foul out to first and Andruw Monasterio on a fly ball to left to end it. He has now converted five saves while registering a stellar 1.36 ERA in 39 2/3 innings. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:16 pm

    • Diaz picks up eighth save against Pirates Saturday
Edwin Diaz tossed a scoreless ninth inning and picked up the save against the Pirates on Saturday.

Advice: Diaz slammed the door on the Pirates to preserve a 5-2 victory for New York. The save was his eighth of the season and first since returning from a 10-game suspension for using an illegal foreign substance. The Mets had the league’s worst bullpen ERA while he was out. The team and fantasy managers are happy to see him back out there. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:32 pm
    • Peterson allows two runs in no-decision Saturday
David Peterson allowed two runs in 4 1/3 innings and got a no-decision in the Mets’ 5-2 victory over the Pirates on Saturday.

Advice: Peterson gave up five hits, walked two and struck out five. Peterson has won three of his seven starts for the Mets this year and it would’ve been four if he completed five innings on Saturday. He has a 3.58 ERA, but his xFIP is 4.51. This is not the David Peterson we’re used to seeing. In 2022, he had a 10.7 K/9, 3.83 ERA and 3.31 xFIP. Last year, he had a 10.3 K/9, 5.03 ERA, and 3.59 xFIP. Last year he was unlucky with his ERA, but this year his strikeouts are way down. His K/9 is just 6.45 this year and that’s likely to catch up to him eventually given where his xFIP is. The 28-year-old left-hander is set to face the Nationals at home next week.

    • Chad Green allows homer, still gets four-out save
Chad Green allowed a run over 1 1/3 innings to get a save Saturday against the Mariners.

Advice: Green came on to get the final out of the eighth while striking out notorious Blue Jay killer Cal Raleigh. He did allow a solo homer to Luke Raley, but it came with a 5-3 lead. Green has now saved four games, and he should remain the closer in full until Yimi Garcia (elbow) returns. He may keep that role even after Garcia is back if he keeps pitching well. • Andrew Chafin gets one-out save vs. Reds
Andrew Chafin got the final out to get a save Saturday against the Reds.

Advice: Ah the ole one-out save. Chafin came in after Jason Foley was unable able to get through the ninth to pick up his first save of the 2024 campaign. It’s not crazy to think he’ll get another shot at a save before the season comes to a close, but he certainly won’t get enough to suggest him as a fantasy pickup. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:03 pm
