    • Sale strikes out 10 in loss to Nationals Friday
Chris Sale allowed two runs in seven innings and took the loss against the Nationals on Friday.

Advice: Sale gave up five hits, walked one and struck out 10. It was an impressive bounce back performance after he allowed eight runs in his last start. Sale has been tremendous at times this season. While he has a 3.01 ERA on the year, his xFIP is even better at 2.43. The 35-year-old left-hander is set to face the Orioles on the road next week. • Rebounds in losing effort
Sale (8-2) took the loss Friday against the Nationals, allowing two runs on five hits and a walk over seven innings. He struck out 10.

Advice: It was a strong bounce-back effort from Sale after he surrendered eight runs against Oakland in his last start. However, Atlanta couldn't get on the board until the eighth inning in an eventual 2-1 defeat. Sale now has eight or more strikeouts in six of his last seven outings. His ERA sits at 3.01 with a 0.94 WHIP and 92:11 K:BB across 12 starts (74.2 innings) this year. Sale's currently in line for a road matchup with the Orioles in his next outing. • Still out of lineup
Machado (hip) is not in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Diamondbacks, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Machado sustained a mild right hip flexor strain Wednesday against the Angels, and the 31-year-old will sit again Friday. While he didn't start in the series opener against Arizona on Thursday, Machado did pinch hit for Kyle Higashioka in the eighth inning and grounded out to the pitcher. While Machado begins Friday's game in the dugout, Donovan Solano will start at third base and bat fifth against Diamonbacks right-hander Brandon Pfaadt. Rotowire.com Today, 2:49 pm

    • Set to start Saturday
Peralta is scheduled to start Saturday against the Tigers, Sophia Minnaert of Bally Sports Wisconsin reports.

Advice: The right-hander initially lined up to start Friday's series opener, but Tobias Myers will instead take the ball in that contest. Peralta has given up at least one homer in each of his past four starts, though he's still been effective over the last three with a 2.55 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 25:4 K:BB across 17.2 innings. • Records first steal Thursday
Raleigh went 0-for-2 with a walk, a stolen base and a run in a win over the Athletics on Thursday.

Advice: The slugging backstop played some small ball Thursday, recording his first steal since 2022. Raleigh is in a 13-game homer drought, and he has only one extra-base hit, a double, over his last 44 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 6:44 am

    • Logs steal in three-hit game
Tatis went 3-for-5 with a double, one stolen base and one run scored in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Tatis has racked up nine hits over his last three games and is batting .449 (22-for-49) during his 12-game hitting streak. In addition to the hot bat, Tatis took advantage of getting on base Thursday by picking up his first steal since May 7. The outfielder is up to a .283/.356/.450 slash line with seven thefts, 10 home runs, 32 RBI and 41 runs scored through 66 contests this season, and he's been one of baseball's hottest hitters so far in June. • Manny Machado grounds out as pinch-hitter
After being held out of the starting lineup due to a hip flexor, Manny Machado grounded out as a pinch-hitter Thursday against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: The Padres said after the game that Machado would have been run for if he hadn’t gotten on base and that it’s unlikely that he’ll start Friday, even at DH. Tyler Wade played third base tonight and probably will do the same Friday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:11 pm

    • Appears as pinch hitter
Machado (hip) entered Thursday's game against the Diamondbacks as a pinch hitter and grounded out to the pitcher, AJ Cassavell of MLB.comreports.

Advice: Machado was held out of Thursday's lineup after suffering a hip flexor strain Wednesday. He is considered day-to-day and was expected to be unavailable Thursday. The fact that he was able to pinch hit is a positive sign, though it's still unclear when he'll be able to rejoin the lineup. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:35 pm

    • Four hits, four RBI in win
Rafaela went 4-for-6 with four RBI and one run scored in Thursday's 14-2 win over the White Sox.

Advice: Rafaela entered Thursday 0-for-10 across his last three games before enjoying a breakout performance. While all four of his hits were singles, three of them led to more runs on the board for the Red Sox. The 23-year-old is slashing a meager .215/.243/.374 through 62 contests, but he's batting .276 (16-for-58) over his last 16 games. Rafaela has added seven home runs, 37 RBI, 29 runs scored and eight stolen bases this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:16 pm
