      Soto is out of the lineup for Sunday's game in Toronto and said that he may get an MRI or CT scan on his bruised right hand when the Yankees return to New York on Monday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

      Advice: Though Soto will remain on the bench for a second straight game, he said that his hand feels better than it did Saturday, when he was scratched from the lineup ahead of the Yankees' 9-3 loss to the Blue Jays after experiencing pain and weakness while swinging the bat. He plans to swing again prior to Sunday's contest, perhaps indicating that the testing he's slated to undergo Monday will be mostly precautionary in nature.       Marte went 0-for-5 with a stolen base, an RBI and a run scored in Saturday's 9-4 win over the Cardinals.

      Advice: Marte reached base and knocked in a run on a fielder's choice before swiping a bag and scoring as part of the Reds' six-run fifth inning. He notched double-digit steals in each of the last three years in the minors and is on his way to accomplishing that feat as a major-leaguer this season after notching two thefts in three games since being reinstated from suspension.       Fried allowed one run on six hits and three walks while striking out four batters over six innings in a no-decision against Pittsburgh on Saturday.

      Advice: Fried pitched very well in the contest, matching the six-inning, six-hit, one-run line put up by rookie phenom Paul Skenes for the Pirates. The Atlanta hurler has given up exactly one run in each of his past three starts, though he was just one win in that span. While Fried's strikeout numbers are down this season -- he has just 84 punchouts over 96 innings -- he's put up his usual ace-quality ratios otherwise with a 2.91 ERA and 1.09 WHIP through 16 starts.       Turang went 2-for-5 with an RBI and a stolen base in a loss to the Cubs on Saturday.

      Advice: Turang's speed was on display in the defeat -- he plated the Brewers' first run with an RBI bunt single in the third inning and followed the hit with a steal of second base. The swipe was his 28th of the season, second most in the majors. Fantasy managers should have been aware of Turang's speed coming into the campaign after he swiped 26 bags in 137 games last year, but the second baseman's other offensive stats have been a pleasant surprise.       Trout (knee) said Saturday that he's basically pain-free and expects to be reinstated from the 10-day injured list by the end of July, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports. Trout has yet to start running.

      Advice: Manager Ron Washington said earlier Saturday that Trout was close to resuming baseball activities, and the veteran outfielder later confirmed as much. Outside of occasional soreness in his left knee as he recovers from surgery on a torn meniscus in May, Trout isn't experiencing any recurring pain and is eager to ramp up his workouts.       Advice: The 32-year-old superstar also noted that he’s pretty much pain-free except for some occasional soreness. Trout also admitted that he has yet to start running and there’s currently no timetable for him to do so. Interesting. This is starting to sound like a situation where the Angels are going to provide no updates, then suddenly one day he’ll be activated from the injured list and return to the lineup without anyone being the wiser.     • Max Fried limits Pirates to one over six
      Max Fried fired six innings while allowing one run with four strikeouts in a no-decision versus the Pirates on Saturday.

      Advice: Fried wasn’t as dominant in terms of missing bats as his starting counterpart Paul Skenes was, but he was effective nonetheless. The southpaw hurler did allow six hits and three walks, but he was unscored upon minus a sac fly in the fifth inning from Edward Olivares.       Gray (9-5) took the loss against the Reds on Saturday, allowing six runs (three earned) on seven hits and one walk with six strikeouts over 4.1 innings.

      Advice: Gray allowed two runs in the third inning and then endured a rough fifth frame, loading the bases and yielding a run on an error by Nolan Arenado. He was pulled after the error at 92 pitches, and each of the three inherited runners came around to score before the end of the frame. Gray generated 14 swinging strikes on 92 pitches but failed to complete five innings for just the second time in 15 starts this season. On the year, the 34-year-old owns a stellar 2.98 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 109:23 K:BB over 87.2 innings and tentatively lines up to face the Nationals next week. Rotowire.com Saturday, 4:15 pm
