    • Wyatt Langford puts on a show in losing effort
Wyatt Langford delivered an RBI single on Thursday in the Rangers’ loss to the Padres.

Advice: Langford made a pair of unbelievable highlight-reel worthy defensive plays and was responsible for plating the Rangers’ lone run of the contest with a run-scoring single off Padres starter Michael King in the sixth inning. The 22-year-old top prospect has been excellent over the last few weeks, batting .303 (33-for-109) with three homers and six steals over his last 30 games. He’s yet another textbook example of why fantasy managers should exercise patience with talented top prospects, even if they struggle initially upon reaching the majors. Rotoworld Thursday, 2:14 pm
    • Seiya Suzuki scores three times in victory
Seiya Suzuki went 2-for3 with two walks, a steal and three runs scored Thursday versus the Phillies.

Advice: It’s nice seeing Suzuki with eight steals in 10 attempts this season after he was just 6-for-13 last year. He’s not excelling in any fantasy category, but neither has he been a liability in any while batting .263 with 11 homers, 35 runs scored and 34 RBI in 62 games. Rotoworld Thursday, 1:58 pm
    • Bailey Ober strikes out eight in win over Tigers
Bailey Ober worked six innings and allowed three runs — one earned — in a victory over the Tigers on Thursday.

Advice: Ober struck out eight and walked none. He has a 27/3 K/BB ratio in his last three starts and a 100/23 K/BB ratio in 94 innings for the year. The 4.12 ERA still isn’t great, but everything else is exactly what one would expect from him. He’ll face the White Sox next. Rotoworld Thursday, 1:31 pm

    • Mitch Garver back in lineup Thursday vs. Orioles
Mitch Garver (wrist) is back in the lineup for Thursday’s game against the Orioles.

Advice: Garver is back at designated hitter for Thursday’s game following a brief two-game absence due to a right wrist contusion. Rotoworld Thursday, 12:04 pm
    • Back in Seattle lineup
Garver (wrist) will start at designated hitter and bat second in Thursday's game versus the Orioles.

Advice: Garver was used as a pinch hitter in Wednesday's game and is now back in the lineup after missing two starts with a sore wrist. He and his teammates will be tasked with solving Baltimore ace Corbin Burnes. Rotowire.com Thursday, 10:07 am
    • Makes pinch-hit cameo Wednesday
Garver (wrist) entered Wednesday's 4-1 loss to the Orioles as a pinch hitter in the eighth inning and singled in his one plate appearance.

Advice: Garver was out of the starting nine for the second straight day after being hit by a pitch in the wrist Sunday against the Twins, but his ability to step into the batter's box and put some good wood on the ball would seem to bode well for his recovery. The veteran offseason addition, who snapped a brief 0-for-9 skid with his timely knock, could find himself back in the lineup for Thursday's series finale against the Orioles, although manager Scott Servais said before Wednesday's game that Garver wasn't fully pain-free yet, per MLB.com. • Returning to bench Thursday
Martinez is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Nationals.

Advice: Martinez returned to action Wednesday after missing one game due to ankle soreness, but he'll head back to the bench for Thursday's 11:05 AM ET start. DJ Stewart will bat fifth as the designated hitter in the series finale at Washington. Rotowire.com Thursday, 6:12 am
    • Swats first homer since return
Contreras went 1-for-3 with two walks and a two-run home run in Wednesday's 5-4 extra-inning loss to the Pirates.

Advice: The 32-year-old catcher tied the game at 3-3 in the eighth inning by taking Colin Holderman deep. It was Contreras' seventh homer of the year but his first in nine games since returning from a fractured forearm, a stretch in which he's batting just .200 (6-for-30). He does have extra-base hits in back-to-back contests after ripping a double Tuesday, however, so he's showing signs of regaining his form at the plate. On the campaign, Contreras is slashing .263/.395/.504 through 40 games. Rotowire.com Thursday, 5:56 am
    • Homers in third straight game
Alvarez went 3-for-4 with a home run, two doubles, a walk, three runs and three RBI in a 9-2 victory versus the Blue Jays on Wednesday.

Advice: Alvarez was a constant thorn in Toronto's side in the contest. He plated Houston's first run with a third-inning double, added a tiebreaking solo shot in the sixth inning and produced another RBI with a double in the eighth. Alvarez has gone deep in each of his past three contests, batting .545 (6-for-11) with three long balls, eight RBI and six runs over that span. Rotowire.com Thursday, 12:43 am
