      Max Kepler homered and doubled Wednesday as the Twins edged the Nationals 3-2.

      Advice: After a 12-3 Nationals win and a 10-0 Twins rout, the two teams actually managed to play a close one in the finale. Kepler homered in the second and doubled and came around to score in the ninth. He’s hit .345/.410/.618 in 17 games this month. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:36 pm
       
    • Out indefinitely with broken shoulder
      The Padres placed Bogaerts on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a fractured left shoulder.

      Advice: Bogaerts suffered the injury on an awkward dive Monday in Atlanta. According to Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune, the infielder doesn't appear to be dealing with any damage to his labrum and will avoid surgery, but he'll need significant down time for the shoulder to heal. Bogaerts intends to play again this season, perhaps by the latter part of the summer.       Padres placed INF Xander Bogaerts on the 10-day injured list with a fractured left shoulder.

      Advice: Ouch. Bogaerts sustained the injury while diving for a ball during the first game of Monday’s doubleheader. He’s expected to miss at least two months while recovering from the injuy. Luis Arraez is covering second base on Wednesday and will probably see additional action there while Bogaerts is shelved.       Toro went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 5-4 win over the Rockies.

      Advice: Toro's bat was silent until the eighth inning when he sent out a home run to right field to give the A's their first lead of the night. He's racked up seven hits over his last five games and leads the majors with 28 hits in the month of May.       Miller recorded his ninth save in Tuesday's win over the Rockies, striking out the side in a perfect ninth inning.

      Advice: Miller mowed through the trio of Jordan Beck, Charlie Blackmon and Ezequiel Tovar on 16 pitches, retiring each on swinging strikes to close out the one-run win. It was Miller's first save opportunity since April 30, as well as his 15th straight scoreless appearance. The flamethrowing right-hander hasn't allowed so much as a single since April 25 as well, and his trio of strikeouts Tuesday pushed his K/9 and swinging strikeout rate figures to an astounding 18.1 and 23.7 percent, respectively, across 20.1 innings.       Tovar went 2-for-5 with two solo home runs in Tuesday's loss to the Athletics.

      Advice: Tovar put together his first career multi-homer game with solo blasts in the fifth and seventh innings to bring his total up to seven for the season. He's been locked in at the plate for most of May, registering at least a hit in 12 of his last 13 games with six of those being multi-hit efforts. Tovar has entrenched himself in the No. 2 spot in the batting order against righties and has seen himself hitting leadoff against lefties. He's now second on the team with 53 hits and tied for second with 21 RBI.       Ryan (3-3) picked up the win Tuesday, allowing three hits and two walks over seven scoreless innings in a 10-0 rout of the Nationals. He struck out six.

      Advice: The right-hander didn't let a baserunner get past second base as he delivered his seventh quality start of the season in 10 trips to the mound. Tuesday's outing was also the first time in 2024 that Ryan had issued multiple free passes.       Gasser came away with a no-decision in Tuesday's 7-5 win over the Marlins, coughing up five runs (four earned) on 10 hits over six innings. He didn't walk or strike out a batter.

      Advice: The rookie southpaw had a respectable 24 called or swinging strikes on his 80 pitches, but Gasser mostly pitched to contact and watched a number of grounders make it past the Brewers' infield defenders. He left the game in line for his first loss in the majors, but Milwaukee rallied in the eighth inning.       Tucker went 2-for-4 with two homers, a walk and three runs scored in Tuesday's 6-5 win over the Angels.

      Advice: Tucker homered in his first at-bat that went 340 feet and would've only been a home run in Houston. He later provided a no-doubter in the seventh to knot things up at 5-5 that would wind up sending the game to extra innings. Tuesday was his fourth multi-homer game of the season and he's now back to leading the league with 17 while his 1.074 OPS only trails Shohei Ohtani.
