    • Goes back-to-back in first inning
Cronenworth went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 4-0 win over the Dodgers.

Advice: Cronenworth got things started for the Padres by going back-to-back with Fernando Tatis off Walker Buehler in the opening inning. He went hitless the rest of the afternoon but continues to be one of the Padres' best bats. He had a 12-game hit streak that came to an end Friday and has been showing increased power early on. His .503 slug percentage is fourth among all first basemen and is a significant personal improvement after averaging a .384 slug over his last two seasons. For the year, Cronenworth is now slashing .285/.349/.503 with seven homers, 27 RBI, 20 runs and a 14:27 BB:K in 169 plate appearances. Rotowire.com 9 minutes ago

    • Records ninth steal
Garcia went 1-for-5 with a stolen base in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Angels.

Advice: Garcia has hit safely in eight of 11 games in May, going 12-for-47 (.255) with four doubles, four RBI and five runs scored. His steal Sunday was his first of the month and his ninth of the season, and he's yet to be caught stealing. The third baseman is slashing .238/.290/.375 with four home runs, 24 RBI and 20 runs scored over 184 plate appearances. While Garcia hasn't profiled as an ideal leadoff hitter, he's done enough to keep that spot through the first quarter of the campaign in a fairly strong lineup. Rotowire.com Today, 7:52 pm

    • Produces quality start
Gallen (5-2) picked up the win Sunday against Baltimore, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks across six innings. He struck out four.

Advice: Gallen notched a second straight quality start, following up a one-hit gem against the Reds with Sunday's two-run showing against the O's. Three of the four hits against Gallen went for extra bases, allowing doubles to Anthony Santander and Jordan Westburg while Adley Rutschman slugged a solo homer in the sixth. Gallen owns a 2.86 ERA and a 1.11 WHIP across 44.0 innings in 2024. He's lined up for a home start against the Tigers next weekend. Rotowire.com Today, 7:31 pm
    • Pete Alonso drives in two runs in win over Braves
Pete Alonso went 2-for-4 with a double and drove in a pair of runs on Sunday night as the Mets rallied to beat the Braves.

Advice: Alonso got the Mets on the board with a run-scoring single off of Bryce Elder in the third inning. He then plated their other run with an RBI double off of Elder in the sixth inning that tied the game at 2-2. The 29-year-old slugger’s bat as started to pick up a bit, but he’s still hitting a disappointing .223/.305/.453 with nine homers, 22 RBI and one stolen base on the season. Rotoworld Today, 7:14 pm

    • Homers early in win
Tovar went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Rangers.

Advice: The Rockies got to Jose Urena early in the first inning, and Tovar's blast was ultimately all they needed in the win. The shortstop has hit safely in six straight games, going 8-for-26 (.308) with four extra-base hits in that span. For the season, he's at a .266/.308/.411 with four homers, 15 RBI, 16 runs scored, three stolen bases, nine doubles and a triple over 39 contests. Rotowire.com Today, 6:55 pm

    • Homers in victory
Tucker went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and two walks in Sunday's 9-2 win over the Tigers.

Advice: Tucker took Tigers starter Jack Flaherty deep for a two-run homer in the top of the sixth inning, giving Houston a 2-0 lead over Detroit. The outfielder has now gone deep 13 times this season and five times in his last six contests. Over the last six games, he went 5-for-20 with five home runs, seven RBI, six runs scored and a stolen base. Rotowire.com Today, 6:16 pm

    • Rebounds with seven scoreless
Verlander (2-1) earned the win after he pitched seven scoreless innings, giving up two hits and two walks while striking out eight batters in Sunday's 9-3 victory over the Tigers.

Advice: Verlander was back to regular sharp self Sunday, limiting Detroit to just four baserunners while recording a season-high eight punchouts. The 41-year-old was coming off of allowing seven runs over five innings against the Yankees on Tuesday, rebounding with his third quality start over five outings in 2024. Verlander now owns a 3.38 ERA with 23 strikeouts over 29.1 innings this season and his next projected start is set to come Friday at home versus the Brewers. Rotowire.com Today, 5:40 pm
    • Jake Cronenworth leaves the yard in win on Sunday
Jake Cronenworth blasted his seventh home run of the season on Sunday, helping to power the Padres to victory over the visiting Dodgers.

Advice: The 30-year-old infielder went back-to-back with teammate Fernando Tatis Jr. off of Walker Buehler in the opening inning of this one, with Cronenworth’s blast traveling 408 feet (106.5 mph EV). That would be his only hit in four at-bats on the afternoon. For the season, he’s now slashing a healthy .285/.349/.503 to go along with the aforementioned seven long balls and 27 RBI. • Turns in 30-pitch bullpen session
Rodriguez (shoulder) tossed a 30-pitch bullpen session Sunday, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Rodriguez said that he felt good following the workout, but he acknowledged that he didn't know whether he would be cleared to face hitters the next time he throws, or if he would continue the ramp-up process with another bullpen session. After being placed on the 15-day injured list May 1 with shoulder inflammation, Rodriguez is eligible for activation Wednesday, but he looks like he'll need at least a little time beyond that before he's ready to rejoin the Baltimore rotation.
