      Cease (7-7) took the loss Tuesday, coughing up six runs on eight hits and two walks over 3.2 innings as the Padres fell 7-0 to the Rangers. He struck out five.

      Advice: The right-hander got no help from his offense, but Cease created his own problems by serving up six extra-base hits, including a pair of homers by Nathaniel Lowe. Cease has been tagged for four runs or more in three of his last four starts, walking multiple batters each time.       Turner went 3-for-5 with two home runs and four RBI during Tuesday's 6-4 win over the Cubs.

      Advice: Turner homered off Hayden Wesneski in the third inning to give Philadelphia a 3-0 lead, and then again in the fifth to put the team in front, 5-1. An RBI single in the seventh frame capped off the Phillies' scoring and gave Turner his sixth hit in the past two games. The 31-year-old shortstop is now slashing .367/.406/.667 with two homers and six RBI over his last seven games and has recorded four multi-hit performances in that span.       De La Cruz went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run, a triple and an additional run scored during Tuesday's 5-4 win over the Yankees.

      Advice: De La Cruz took Caleb Ferguson yard in the fifth inning, extending the Reds' advantage to 5-0. The speedster also legged out his sixth triple of the season and third in the last five games.       Clase (4-1) pitched a perfect inning to earn the win Tuesday over the White Sox.

      Advice: Clase kept the game tied at 6-6 in the top of the ninth inning, needing just 10 pitches to retire the side. Bo Naylor's sacrifice fly in the bottom of the frame sealed the win for the Guardians, giving Clase his first decision since May 19. The closer is on an eight-inning scoreless streak and has maintained elite ratios with a 0.67 ERA, 0.62 WHIP and 39:4 K:BB through 40.1 innings overall.       Trea Turner went 3-for-5 with two home runs and four RBI in Tuesday’s win over the Cubs.

      Advice: Turner hit a solo homer in the top of the third inning to give the Phillies a 3-0 lead and later returned to hit a two-run shot in the fifth inning to push the lead to 5-1. The Phillies start shortstop now has five homers on the season and has hit safely in five of his last six games. Turner is slashing a solid .338/.386/.487 on the season but hasn’t offered much as far as steals are concerned, which could be chalked up to the hamstring injury he returned from a few weeks ago.     • Cease allows six earned, two homers vs. Rangers
      Dylan Cease allowed eight hits and six earned runs over 3 2/3 innings in Tuesday’s loss to the Rangers.

      Advice: Cease had an up-and-down first inning. While he recorded all three of his outs via the strikeout, he allowed two hits, with the second coming on a two-run homer by Nathaniel Lowe to give the Rangers an early lead. It would only get worse from there, as Cease would give up another two-run bomb to Lowe in the third inning and was pulled in the fourth inning shortly after allowing a sixth run off a Marcus Semien single. It’s been a rough stretch for Cease, who has allowed 17 earned runs over his last 19 innings while striking out 29 batters and walking nine.       Elly De La Cruz went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs in a win over the Yankees on Tuesday.

      Advice: The home run was a 425-foot shot for his 15th home run of the season. Elly also struck out twice and is hitting just .226 over his last 40 games while posting a strikeout rate of over 31 percent; however, his athleticism and raw power are so elite that he continues to produce fantasy goodness.       Emmanuel Clase pitched a scoreless ninth inning in a 7-6 win over the White Sox on Tuesday.

      Advice: Clase pitched the ninth in a tie game and allowed no runs with no hits, no strikeouts, and no walks. He then earned a win when the Guardians scored off Michael Kopech in the bottom of the inning. He now has a 4-1 record to go along with 25 saves on the season. Pretty, pretty, pretty good.       Kelly (shoulder) recently increased his throwing distance off flat ground to 120 feet, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

      Advice: Though Kelly is steadily upping his throwing distance, the Diamondbacks haven't yet indicated when the right-hander might be ready to resume mound work. In any case, Kelly recently acknowledged that he's not expecting to come off the 60-day injured list until mid-to-late August, so he still has several weeks to go and multiple checkpoints to hit in his rehab program before a more precise target date for his return is identified.
