    • Completes seven innings in loss
Fedde (5-2) took the loss to the Tigers on Friday, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk with three strikeouts over seven innings.

Advice: Fedde allowed a two-run home run to Carson Kelly but was otherwise excellent, retiring the final 14 batters he faced. Despite the loss, this was Fedde's third consecutive quality start, and he has now yielded fewer than three earned runs in 12 of 16 outings this year. Fedde owns a 3.05 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 86:24 K:BB over 94.1 innings in what has been the best season of his career to this point . He tentatively lines up to face the Dodgers next week. • Luis Ortiz allows six runs in four innings
Luis Ortiz followed opener Cameron Mlodzinski and got hit hard by the Rays allowing six runs and 10 hits in four innings of work. He struck out three and walked one.

Advice: Ortiz pitched better than his line, which isn’t saying much. The Rays made a habit of squeaking singles through the infield and Jose Lowe burned him for two loud home runs. Even with this disaster, Ortiz’s ERA ticked up to just 3.45. His fastball and sinker each sit 97 MPH, his slider is nasty, and his cutter is coming along. Ortiz remains risky but could prove valuable in the second half. Rotoworld 37 minutes ago
    • Dodgers activate and option Kyle Hurt on Friday
Dodgers activated RHP Kyle Hurt from the 60-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Advice: The 26-year-old hurler had already been pitching at Triple-A OKC while on a rehab assignment, but he’ll continue to build up there as he continues his recovery from right shoulder inflammation. In order to free up a spot on the club’s 40-man roster, Max Muncy was transferred to the 60-day injured list in a corresponding move on Friday. Rotoworld 59 minutes ago

    • Gabriel Moreno diagnosed with sprained left thumb
The Diamondbacks announced that Gabriel Moreno was removed from Friday’s game due to a sprained left thumb.

Advice: The severity of the sprain — and how much time (if any) that Moreno may miss — remain up in the air. Tucker Barnhart replaced him in Friday’s contest against the Phillies and would be in line for increased run behind the plate if Moreno is forced to miss any substantial time. • Leaves game with sprained thumb
Moreno exited Friday's game against the Phillies due to a sprained left thumb.

Advice: Tucker Barnhart replaced Moreno behind home plate for the bottom of the sixth inning. Before exiting, Moreno went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run in the top of the third inning. Clarity on the severity of Moreno's injury will be known following Friday's contest. Rotowire.com Today, 6:04 pm

    • Gabriel Moreno exits Friday with apparent injury
Gabriel Moreno was removed from Friday’s game against the Phillies due to an apparent injury.

Advice: No word yet on exactly what happened here, but the 24-year-old backstop was replaced by Tucker Barnhart when the Diamondbacks took the field in the sixth inning. Earlier in the game, Moreno crushed the hardest hit ball of his career — a titanic 433-foot (104.6 mph EV) blast to center field. Stay tuned, as the Diamondbacks should have an update on his status shortly. Rotoworld Today, 6:00 pm

    • Activated from IL, optioned
The Dodgers activated Hurt (shoulder) from the 60-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Advice: Hurt was originally placed on the 15-day injured list April 20 with right shoulder inflammation, but he was transferred to the 60-day IL one week later. He began his rehab assignment with Oklahoma City on June 6, and over his eight minor-league appearances, he's given up five runs on seven hits and 10 walks while striking out 16 over nine frames. To make room for Hurt on the 40-man roster, the Dodgers transferred Max Muncy (oblique) to the 60-day injured list Friday. Rotowire.com Today, 5:59 pm

    • Carson Kelly powers Tigers past White Sox on Friday
Carson Kelly walloped a two-run homer off of Erick Fedde in the second inning, powering the Tigers to a 2-1 victory over the White Sox in the opening game of their three-game set at Comerica Park.

Advice: Justyn-Henry Malloy had set the stage with a double into the gap in left-center, then Kelly followed with a 412-foot (103.9 mph EV) blast to left field that gave the Tigers an early 2-0 lead that they would never relinquish. That was the last good swing that the Tigers would have against Erick Fedde and company in the ballgame, but proved to be just enough. Kelly finished the night 1-for-3 and is now slashing .238/.324/.373 with four homers and seven RBI on the year. Rotoworld Today, 5:56 pm

    • Tommy Pham goes deep as White Sox fall to Tigers
Tommy Pham clubbed his fourth home run of the season on Friday night, accounting for the White Sox’ lone run in a loss to the Tigers.

Advice: Pham turned on a first-pitch changeup from Jack Flaherty in the fifth inning and tucked a 370-foot (112.4 mph EV) solo shot just inside the foul pole in left field to get the White Sox on the board and trim their deficit to 2-1. That would be the extent of the scoring in the ballgame. The 36-year-old outfielder finished the night 2-for-4 and is now hitting .282/.353/.410 to go with four long balls and 14 RBI.
