    • Bailey Ober strikes out 10 in gem versus Jays
Bailey Ober pitched one-hit ball for 6 1/3 scoreless innings and struck out 10 as the Twins defeated the Blue Jays 5-1 on Sunday.

Advice: It’s his second career 10-strikeout game, with the other coming against the White Sox in Sept. 2022. Ober opened this season with the very worst outing of his career, but since that eight-run barrage, he has a 2.16 ERA and a 44/7 K/BB ratio in 41 2/3 innings. He’s not quite this good, but he should remain an excellent fantasy starter going forward. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:30 pm
    • Dodgers expect Ohtani (back) to return Monday
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters that the team hasn’t made a decision as to whether Shohei Ohtani (back) is available off the bench for Sunday’s game against the Padres.

Advice: Roberts noted that Ohtani was able to take part in some pregame activity, but the team ultimately decided to give the 29-year-old a day off after leaving Saturday with back tightness. Most importantly, it sounds like Ohtani has a good chance to be back for Monday’s game against the Giants. Even if he was able to miss that game, it does appear the superstar has avoided a long-term injury. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:33 am

    • Out Sunday with back tightness
Ohtani (back) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Ohtani's absence from the starting nine was fully expected after he was removed from Saturday's 5-0 win over the Padres following his fourth at-bat of the night due to lower-back tightness. According to ESPN.com, manager Dave Roberts said he had minimal concern about Ohtani's health, but the star designated hitter will nonetheless sit out the series finale in San Diego. The Dodgers are seemingly hopeful that Ohtani can return to the lineup for Monday's series opener in San Francisco. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:09 am

    • Shohei Ohtani out Sunday with back tightness
Shohei Ohtani (back) is not in the lineup Sunday against the Padres.

Advice: Ohtani was removed from Saturday’s game with tightness in his back, and he’ll miss at least one full game while recovering. Will Smith will be the designated hitter while Ohtani rests and Austin Barnes behind the plate. For now, the two-time MVP should be considered day-to-day. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:04 am

    • Getting Sunday off
Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol said Arenado will be out of the lineup for Sunday's game in Milwaukee, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Advice: Arenado isn't dealing with an injury, as Marmol characterized the third baseman's absence from the lineup as an off day. The 33-year-old had started each of the Cardinals' first 39 games of the season and is maintaining a .703 OPS, the lowest mark of his career. He didn't appear to be turning a corner at the plate over the first three games of the series in Milwaukee, as he went just 1-for-12 with three strikeouts. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:34 am
    • Nolan Arenado getting Sunday off vs. Brewers
Nolan Arenado is not starting Sunday’s game versus the Brewers.

Advice: Arenado will get his first day off of the year. The third baseman has registered a .767 OPS in the month of May and has hit .270/.331/.372 thus far in 2024. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:31 am
    • Kyle Schwarber remains out Sunday with back issue
Kyle Schwarber (back) is out of the starting lineup for Sunday’s game against the Marlins.

Advice: Schwarber is out of the lineup as expected, with the hope being that the 31-year-old can return to the lineup Monday. Bryce Harper is the designated hitter against Miami with Whit Merrifield handling third base and leading off and Alec Bohm at first base. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:03 am

    • Homers in second straight
Adell went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer in Saturday's win over the Royals.

Advice: Adell jumped on a hanging slider with two men on in the second and launched it 419 feet for his seventh home run of the season and the third in his last four games. The outfielder has also hit safely in five consecutive contests, racking up six RBI over that stretch to go along with five runs scored. Despite those impressive numbers, Adell is still batting just .176 in May and has recorded multiple hits in only one game this month. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:52 am

    • Collects three hits Saturday
Volpe went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a stolen base in a loss to Tampa Bay on Saturday.

Advice: Volpe was the only Yankee to stand out offensively in the loss -- he was responsible for three of the team's five hits, plated both of the club's runs on a second-inning single and added a stolen base to boot. The young shortstop has reached base safely via hit or walk in nine straight contests, slashing .286/.375/.486 with two homers, seven RBI, seven runs and a 5:11 BB:K over that span. After swiping 24 bags as a rookie last year, Volpe is on pace to exceed that mark with eight steals in nine attempts so far in 2024. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:42 am
