    • Dominant in tough-luck defeat
Sale (10-3) suffered the loss Thursday, allowing one run on four hits and a walk over seven innings against the White Sox. He struck out 11.

Advice: Sale dominated his former team, with a first-inning homer by Luis Robert marking the only blemish to his stellar outing. However, the bats failed to provide any support for Sale, and Atlanta suffered its third shutout loss of the season with each occurring within the month of June. Following an inexplicable blip June 1 when he allowed eight runs to the hapless Athletics, Sale has rebounded over the last four games by allowing a total of six earned runs over 26 innings, giving him an ERA of 2.08 with a 0.85 WHIP and 36 strikeouts during that stretch. His next start is tentatively scheduled to take place in the middle of next week, when Atlanta plays host to the Giants. Rotowire.com Today, 12:06 am
    • Goes deep again Thursday
Guerrero went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, a double, two total runs and two total RBI against the Yankees in a 9-2 win Thursday.

Advice: Guerrero both started and capped the scoring in the contest with an RBI double in the first inning and a solo homer in the sixth. The first baseman recorded his fourth straight multi-hit game, a span in which he's gone 9-for-19 with with three homers and 11 RBI. Guerrero has gone deep four times across his past six games after hitting just seven homers in his first 74 contests of the campaign. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:50 pm
    • McArthur picks up 14th save against Royals
James McArthur tossed a scoreless ninth inning and picked up the save against the Guardians on Thursday.

Advice: The save was his 14th of the season. McArthur has a 4.41 ERA after another scoreless outing. There’s no question that he’s the Royals’ best option for saves going forward. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:36 pm
    • Goes deep, swipes bag in win
Hoerner went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run and a stolen base in Thursday's 5-3, 10-inning win over the Giants.

Advice: Hoerner blasted his third home run of the season in the third inning with a runner on and also stole his 14th base of the year The infielder is not known as a big power threat, as his career best in homers for a season is only 10, but he is a capable baserunner. Hoerner swiped a career-high 43 bases last year, and he had 20 stolen bases in 2022. Fantasy managers will hope he continues to run frequently the rest of the way. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:31 pm

    • Bryan De La Cruz plates three in win over Phillies
Bryan De La Cruz smacked a game-tying three-run double on Thursday, leading the Marlins to a 7-4 victory over the Phillies.

Advice: De La Cruz walloped a bases-clearing double to left-center field off Phillies lefty reliever Matt Strahm in the seventh inning to spark Miami to a come-from-behind victory. The 27-year-old corner outfielder figures to be a popular name at the trade deadline in a few weeks as he’s in the midst of the best year of his career with a .722 OPS along with 14 homers through 80 games. • Sale strikes out 11 in hard-luck loss to former team
Chris Sale struck out 11 over seven innings of one-run baseball, but picked up a loss Thursday as the White Sox beat Atlanta 1-0 in the first game of a doubleheader.

Advice: Sale was facing his former team in the White Sox, and while he gets credited for the loss, it was a dominant effort for the 35-year-old. The only blemish came when he gave up a solo homer to Luis Robert Jr. in the first, and he allowed just three more hits while missing plenty of bats. It’s the third time Sale has picked up double-digit strikeouts — the 11 are a season high — and he’s now the owner of a 2.79 ERA and 118/17 K/BB over 15 starts. He gets the Giants next. • Nico Hoerner homers, steals base in victory
Nico Hoerner went 3-for-5 with a homer and a stolen base for the Cubs in an extra-inning win over the Giants on Thursday.

Advice: Hoerner swatted a two-run blast off Jordan Hicks in the third inning to give the Cubs a 2-0 lead. That’s only the third homer of the season for the 27-year-old, but the steal was already the 14th of the year. Hoerner missed time with a hairline fracture in his hand, and he’s a good bet to see a much higher average than the .246 mark he’s put up thus far in the second half. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:51 pm

    • Max Scherzer to start on Friday against Orioles
Max Scherzer (thumb) will start on Friday against the Orioles.

Advice: Scherzer came out of his season debut on Sunday with some relatively minor right thumb soreness, but it sounds like he’s ready to roll for his next outing on Friday evening at Camden Yards. The 39-year-old veteran was sharp last weekend in his season debut, striking out four over five scoreless frames against the Royals. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:59 pm
