Peralta has posted a 7.90 ERA through three starts this month, bumping his season ERA up to 4.38 through 76 innings. He's now 1-4 since the start of May.       Hunter Brown delivered a dominant performance in Friday night’s victory over the Tigers, racking up nine strikeouts over seven innings of shutout baseball.

      Advice: The 25-year-old right-hander didn’t walk a batter on the night and all five of the hits that he allowed were singles. Brown generated 15 swings and misses on 96 pitches on the night — four or more on each of his sinker, cutter and slider — while registering a strong CSW of 34 percent.     • Tarik Skubal gives up four runs in loss to Astros
      Tarik Skubal struggled in Friday night’s loss to the Astros, giving up four runs on six hits over his 6 1/3 innings of work.

      Advice: Skubal recorded only two strikeouts in the ballgame while allowing one base on balls. He kept the Astros’ offense completely off the board and was engaged in a scoreless pitcher’s duel heading to the sixth inning. They broke through there though, as Jose Altuve doubled, Alex Bregman smacked an RBI triple, Yordan Alvarez followed with a sacrifice fly and Mauricio Dubon tacked on a two-run homer. Skubal got 13 swings and misses on just 84 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 24 percent.       Advice: Brown entered the game on a hot streak, firing a 2.25 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 26:8 K:BB in 24 innings over his last four starts. He kept rolling, generating 15 whiffs en route to tying his season high with nine punchouts. The right-hander has been outstanding since May 1, going 3-1 with a 2.58 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 52:15 K:BB in 45.1 innings over seven starts.       Skubal (8-2) took the loss Friday in Houston, allowing four runs on six hits and one walk over 6.1 innings. He struck out two.

      Advice: Skubal failed to produce a quality start for just the fourth time in 14 outings this season. After completing five scoreless innings, the Tigers lefty allowed all four of his runs in the sixth, capped by a Mauricio Dubon two-run homer. In 86 innings this year, Skubal sports a 2.20 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 98:16 K:BB. The 27-year-old is currently scheduled to make his next start against Atlanta on the road.       Kevin Gausman lost to the Guardians after allowing three runs in 5 1/3 innings on Friday.

      Advice: Gausman’s velocity was well down for a second straight start tonight, even though he was working with an extra day off. It’s a definite cause for concern at this point; there’d be much more reason to expect Gausman to bounce back while throwing 94 mph than there is while he’s throwing 92.       Rockies activated OF Nolan Jones from the 10-day injured list.

      Advice: The dynamic 26-year-old has been sidelined since April 29 due to back and knee issues, but is finally ready to return to the Rockies’ lineup. Prior to landing on the injured list, he was hitting a paltry .170/.243/.277 with one homer, seven RBI and a pair of stolen bases through his first 26 ballgames.       Jones (knee) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Friday.

      Advice: Jones landed on the injured list April 30 due to back stiffness. His initial rehab assignment was halted May 21 due to right knee soreness stemming from a slide, but he was able to resume activities June 3. Across his 12 rehab games with Triple-A Albuquerque, Jones went 9-for-42 with six runs, one home run and six RBI. He is starting in left field and batting fifth in Friday's game against the Pirates.
