    • Not in Friday's lineup
McKinstry isn't in the Tigers' lineup Friday versus the Reds.

Advice: McKinstry has gone 0-for-14 over his last five games, so he'll get a chance to regroup Friday while Ryan Kreidler starts at shortstop and bats ninth. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:16 pm

    • Resting Friday
Dubon isn't in the Astros' lineup for Friday's game against the Twins, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Dubon will get a breather Friday after going 2-for-4 with an RBI during Thursday's win over the Blue Jays. Yordan Alvarez will take over in left field, moving Yainer Diaz into the DH spot while Cesar Salazar starts behind the plate. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:06 pm

    • Activated from IL
Frazier (thumb) has returned from his rehab assignment and was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Friday.

Advice: Frazier required only one rehab game with Double-A Northwest Arkansas, where he went 0-for-4 with a strikeout, before being cleared to return. Frazier is slashing .211/.297/.299 across 165 plate appearances with the Royals and should mix in at third base and in right field. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:37 pm

    • Royals activate Adam Frazier from 10-day IL
Royals activated INF/OF Adam Frazier from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: The versatile 32-year-old missed a couple of weeks due to a strained right thumb, but he’ll be back in action for Friday’s series opener against the Rockies at Coors Field. He hasn’t done much at the dish this season, slashing a woeful .211/.297/.299 with two homers, 10 RBI and two stolen bases in 165 plate appearances. He can continue to be avoided for fantasy purposes. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:31 pm

    • Tommy Edman to start rehab assignment on Tuesday
Tommy Edman (wrist, ankle) will begin a minor league rehab assignment at Double-A Springfield on Tuesday.

Advice: Edman is set to take live batting practice on Friday and Saturday before heading out to finally begin his minor league rehab assignment. Given the long layoff, he’s probably going to need quite a few games there before he’s deemed ready to join the Cardinals. Fantasy managers shouldn’t expect him back until after the All-Star break. • David Hamilton sits against southpaw on Friday
David Hamilton is not in the Red Sox’ starting lineup once again with an opposing southpaw on the hill on Friday.

Advice: The 26-year-old speedster has seen his playing time squeezed as of late, as he hasn’t even been a regular against right-handed pitching this week. Once again, Enmanuel Valdez will start in his place at second base and will bat eighth for the Red Sox against Nestor Cortes and the Yankees on Friday night. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:11 pm

    • Nick Gordon (illness) still out of Marlins lineup
Nick Gordon (illness) was held out of the Marlins’ starting lineup for the fourth consecutive game on Friday night.

Advice: Gordon hasn’t appeared in a game since last Saturday and will now miss his fourth straight game due to illness. It sounds like he’s getting closer to a return though, so the Marlins will continue to take things on a day-to-day basis rather than utilizing a backdated stint on the injured list. Dane Myers will draw a start in right field and bat sixth for the Marlins on Friday night against Drew Thorpe and the White Sox. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:05 pm

    • Not in Boston lineup
Hamilton is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Yankees.

Advice: Hamilton has now started just two of Boston's last six contests. He and Enmanuel Valdez have been sharing starts at second base against righties, but it will be Valdez at the keystone Friday versus lefty Nestor Cortes. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:50 pm

    • Homers in loss
Massey went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Thursday's 10-8 loss to the Rays.

Advice: Massey started at second base for the first time since he returned from the injured list June 24. Prior to Thursday's game, Joel Goldberg of Bally Sports Kansas City reported that the Royals' plan is to get Massey some playing time in the field before the All-Star break. He had previously been limited to designated hitter as the team eases him back in following another back injury. With Massey approaching full health, Maikel Garcia may shift back to third base more frequently, while Nick Loftin and CJ Alexander are in line for reduced roles. Massey is slashing .273/.289/.516 with eight homers, 25 RBI, 21 runs scored and no stolen bases over 137 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:03 am
