    • Jorge Soler went 1-for-4 with a double and a run scored on Wednesday against the Braves.
Soler seems to enjoy hitting lead-off. He’s hit safely in five straight games with six extra-base hits over that span since being put back atop the order. He’s very slowly gotten his feet wet after a miserable start to the season and we know how hot he can get once he finds his groove.

    • Oneil Cruz delivers walk-off hit to beat Cardinals
Oneil Cruz delivered a game-winning single in the 10th inning on Wednesday, leading the Pirates to a 5-4 walk-off victory over the Cardinals.

Advice: Cruz followed Bryan Reynolds’ game-tying single in the bottom of the 10th-inning by scalding a 106-mph line-drive to right field off Cardinals reliever JoJo Romero that sent the Pirates faithful home in walk-off fashion. The 25-year-old shortstop recorded an impressive three batted ball events in the extra-inning marathan with exit velocities over 106 mph. There have been some considerable ups and down this season for Cruz, which isn’t totally unexpected after missing nearly all of last year due to a serious leg injury, but he’s had some extremely promising moments. This certainly qualifies as a highlight-reel moment, especially if the Pirates finally wind up making it back to the postseason. Rotoworld 34 minutes ago
    • Corey Seager added to Rangers lineup on Wednesday
Corey Seager (hand) was added to the Rangers’ starting lineup for Wednesday night’s battle against the Padres.

Advice: As manager Bruce Bochy had alluded to earlier in the day, Seager checked out good and was a late addition to the Rangers’ lineup. Jonathan Ornelas — who had been scheduled to start at third base — was scratched from the lineup with Josh Smith shifting back from shortstop to third base. Rotoworld Today, 3:51 pm
    • Returns to lineup Wednesday
Seager (wrist) is starting at shortstop and batting second in Wednesday's game against the Padres.

Advice: Seager missed the last two games after being struck in the left wrist by a pitch Saturday against Baltimore. He was originally slated to begin Wednesday's game in the dugout, but Seager will return to the starting lineup, bumping Josh Smith to third base and Jonathan Ornelas to the bench. • Progressing, could play Wednesday
Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said Seager (wrist) is feeling "a lot better" and will talk with the shortstop to see if he's doing well enough to play Wednesday against the Padres, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The 30-year-old is currently absent from Texas' starting nine for Wednesday's contest, but there's apparently a chance he's a late addition to the lineup. Regardless of whether or not Seager ends up starting the game, it's an encouraging development for his availability going forward. Rotowire.com Today, 2:26 pm
    • Corey Seager (hand) out of Rangers initial lineup
Corey Seager (hand) is not in the Rangers’ initial starting lineup for Wednesday night’s showdown against the Padres.

Advice: Rangers’ skipper Bruce Bochy did say that he’ll talk to Seager before the game though and that there’s a chance he could still be added to the lineup. Either way, that bodes well for his status going forward as he seems very close to a return. Expect him back in action on Thursday if he doesn’t talk his way into Wednesday’s lineup. • On bench again
Seager (wrist) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against San Diego.

Advice: Seager will be held out of the starting lineup for a third straight contest despite having his X-rays come back negative Monday. Josh Smith will bat second and play shortstop Wednesday. Rotowire.com Today, 1:10 pm
    • On bench Wednesday
Murphy is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Giants.

Advice: After making back-to-back starts behind the dish, Murphy will give way to Travis d'Arnaud on Wednesday. Murphy swatted a solo home run in Tuesday's series opener against San Francisco. Rotowire.com Today, 12:20 pm
    • Could return as second baseman
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts stated over the weekend that he may consider having Betts (wrist) play primarily at second base upon his return, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Advice: The consideration to shift Betts back to second base from shortstop is primarily due to the impressive performance of Miguel Rojas, who has played excellent defense, as usual, while adding a surprisingly potent bat (he's slashing .291/.337/.437 over 164 plate appearances). The versatile Betts is no stranger to second base; he played a career-high 70 games at the position last year after beginning the campaign in the outfield. Betts was then asked to move to shortstop ahead of 2024 despite never having logged time there in the majors prior to 2023, and he's performed adequately defensively despite a few hiccups. It remains to be seen if the Dodgers will ultimately pursue having Betts and Rojas form their middle infield for most games, and Roberts has time to think through that scenario since Betts remains several weeks away from returning. He threw and ran Tuesday, per the Associated Press, but hasn't yet swung a bat. Rotowire.com Today, 12:18 pm
