    • Outdueled in loss
Civale (2-7) took the loss Thursday against Pittsburgh, allowing one run on six hits and two walks across 6.1 innings. He struck out six.

Advice: Civale blanked the Pirates until the seventh inning when he allowed a single, an RBI double and a walk before being pulled with one out. His one run allowed proved to be the difference, as the Brewers only managed two hits on the day, both of which came in the eighth inning. Though it'll get marked as a loss, Thursday's outing marked Civale's first time pitching into the seventh inning and was his first quality start since April 16. In two starts with the Brewers, Civale has surrendered five runs over 11.1 innings and owns a 14:5 K:BB. Rotowire.com Today, 2:06 pm
    • Aaron Civale allows just one run, still gets loss
Aaron Civale went 6 1/3 innings while allowing just one run, but still took a loss Thursday against the Pirates.

Advice: In Civale’s first start as a Brewer, he allowed three homers and four runs and received no decision. In his second start, he did this and gets a loss. Fair sport. Civale was excellent, he just ran into the immovable object that is Paul Skenes, and the RBI double he allowed to Yasmani Grandal was enough for Civale to take the L. It was still a very encouraging outing with six strikeouts against two walks. Civale should make his next start shortly after the All-Star break, and he’ll take a 4.94 ERA into that outing. • Brandon Lowe starting versus LHP
Brandon Lowe is in the lineup and hitting third for the Rays against Nestor Cortes on Thursday.

Advice: Lowe has sat against the last two left-handed pitchers, but he’s in the lineup today with Taylor Walls on the bench, Jose Caballero at shortstop, and Amed Rosario at second base. Since June 15th, Lowe is hitting .278 in 17 games with five home runs, 12 runs scored, and seven RBI. He is striking out 28 percent of the time, but that production has earned him more opportunities in the short-term. Rotoworld Today, 12:03 pm

    • Getting afternoon off
Naylor is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Tigers.

Advice: Naylor had started in 13 straight contests dating back to June 27, so the Guardians will give the slugger a breather in the day game after a night game. David Fry checks in at first base in place of Naylor. Rotowire.com Today, 8:05 am

    • Elly De La Cruz getting day off on Thursday
Elly De La Cruz is not in the Reds’ lineup on Thursday.

Advice: It’s a routine day off for Elly and just his second of the season. Santiago Espinal will start in his place at shortstop. Since May 1st, Elly is hitting .238/.324/.418 in 63 games with a 31.4 percent strikeout rate. Of course, he also has 27 stolen bases and seven home runs to go along with it, which keeps him a must-start player in all fantasy leagues. Rotoworld Today, 7:44 am

    • Getting rare day off
De La Cruz is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Rockies.

Advice: For just the second time all season, De La Cruz will will hit the bench. According to Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer, De La Cruz's absence isn't related to the hand injury he's been managing recently; instead, the 22-year-old is just getting a well-overdue afternoon off while Cincinnati wraps up its series with Colorado with a day game after a night game. De La Cruz won't have much of a chance to catch his breath during the upcoming week while he makes his first All-Star Game appearance next Tuesday in Texas, so the Reds presumably wanted to build in some extra rest for him heading into the Midsummer Classic. Santiago Espinal will step in at shortstop for De La Cruz on Thursday. Rotowire.com Today, 7:31 am

    • Grabs eighth win
Bassitt (8-7) earned the win over the Giants on Wednesday, allowing three runs on five hits and four walks over five innings. He struck out six.

Advice: Two of the three runs charged to Bassitt came across in the opening frame after he surrendered a leadoff single to LaMonte Wade and allowed him to advance to second on a passed ball. The right-hander then gave up back-to-back RBI singles with two outs, though he wouldn't permit another run until the fifth. He induced 10 whiffs in the contest but also walked four batters for the second consecutive start. Bassitt has now gone at least five innings in 13 straight outings and has won two of his last three. • Allows two homers in no-decision
Morton did not factor into the decision in a loss to the Diamondbacks on Wednesday, allowing four runs on five hits over 6.1 innings while striking out five.

Advice: Most of the damage against Morton came in the second and third innings when the veteran surrendered home runs to Eugenio Suarez and Ketel Marte. The right-hander would then cruise through the next three frames before being relieved by Pierce Johnson with one out in the seventh, though a fourth run ended up being charged to Morton's ledger. The 40-year-old has now allowed two home runs in back-to-back starts and has given up at least three runs in four of his last six outings. However, he's also tallied five or more strikeouts in three consecutive starts. Rotowire.com Today, 5:12 am
    • Chris Bassitt earns win against Giants
Chris Bassitt allowed three runs with six strikeouts over five innings in a win over the Giants on Wednesday.

Advice: Bassitt allowed two runs in to score in the first inning on three singles and a walk. He battled control issues in the second inning, walking the bases loaded before escaping the jam. Bassitt worked a clean third and fourth, then gave up a third run on a single and a double in the fifth. That would be it for the 35-year-old right-hander. He picked up his eighth win to go with a 3.52 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, and a 100/45 K/BB ratio across 107 1/3 innings at the All-Star break. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:43 pm
