    • Homer, double in win
Campusano went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a double in Friday's 2-1 win over the Dodgers.

Advice: Campusano opened the scoring with a third-inning solo shot. He added a double in the 10th, and pinch runner Tyler Wade scored one Luis Arraez's walk-off single. Campusano has reached base safely in his last six games, going 7-for-19 (.368) with two walks and six RBI in that span. The catcher is up to three homers, 10 doubles, 23 RBI, 17 runs scored and a .283/.323/.442 slash line through 35 contests this season in a starting role behind the plate. • Quality in Coors return
Gray did not factor into the decision Friday against the Rockies, allowing one run on eight hits and one walk over six innings. He struck out seven.

Advice: Gray collected a quality start in his first return to Coors Field since departing Colorado in free agency after the 2021 season. The Texas right-hander racked up his third consecutive quality start, firing a 1.71 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 17:1 K:BB in 21 innings over that span. Gray is slated to make his next start at home against Cleveland. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:22 pm

    • Luis Campusano homers in victory over Dodgers
Luis Campusano hit a solo homer in a victory Friday over the Dodgers for the Padres.

Advice: Campusano got the only hit of the game for the Padres while Tyler Glasnow was in the game, and it was a solo homer to give San Diego a 1-0 lead. The 25-year-old catcher remains a solid — and quite frankly, underrated — catching option, as he’s hit three homers, driven in 23 runs and slashed .283/.323/.442. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:58 pm
    • Jon Gray whiffs seven, allows one run vs. Rockies
Jon Gray struck out seven while allowing just a run over six innings Friday in a no-decision versus the Rockies.

Advice: Gray, 32, did allow eight hits, but he issued just one walk and was able to make enough big pitchers to hold the Colorado lineup to just that run in Coors Field. The right-hander has been excellent as of late, and he’s now allowed no more than one run in all but two starts in 2024. He’ll take a 2.36 ERA into his next scheduled start against Cleveland on Wednesday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:05 pm

    • Sharp in second win
Valdez (2-1) earned the win Friday over the Tigers, allowing two runs on six hits and two walks over seven innings. He struck out four.

Advice: Valdez allowed two runs on a Matt Vierling double in the third inning before blanking Detroit over his final four frames en route to his second victory of the year. It's an encouraging bounce-back effort from Valdez, who allowed five runs in a loss to Seattle in his previous start. The left-hander lowered his ERA to 3.64 with a 1.35 WHIP and 23:9 K:BB across five starts (29.2 innings). Valdez, who has walked only one batter over his past three starts, is currently scheduled for a home matchup with the A's in his next outing. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:13 pm

    • Framber Valdez defeats Tigers to improve to 2-1
Framber Valdez pitched well in Friday night’s victory over the Tigers, allowing only two runs on six hits over seven frames.

Advice: Valdez walked two and punched out four on the night. He surrendered a two-run double to Matt Vierling in the third inning, but kept the Tigers’ off the board the remainder of his night — affording his offense the opportunity to come back and earn him a win, which they finally did in the eighth inning. The 30-year-old southpaw got 10 swings and misses on 103 pitches on the night, registering a CSW of 23 percent. He’ll look to replicate this fine outing as he carries a 3.64 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and a 23/9 K/BB ratio (29 2/3 innings) into Wednesday’s matchup against the Athletics. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:08 pm

    • Paul Goldschmidt returns to Cardinals’ lineup
Paul Goldschmidt returned to the Cardinals starting lineup for Friday night’s ballgame against the Brewers.

Advice: The Cardinals had the struggling 36-year-old slugger take the previous two games off to work on reconstructing his swing. That makes sense, as he’s slashing a putrid .195/.287/.263 with just two homers, 11 RBI, one swipe and a 47/16 K/BB ratio over 152 plate appearances to start the season. There’s nowhere to go but up, so fantasy managers will just have to hope that whatever changes he made make a difference. He’ll bat third against rookie left-hander Robert Gasser on Friday evening in Milwaukee. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:57 pm

    • Progressing through injury
Phillips (hamstring) was out on the field playing catch Friday, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Advice: Phillips was placed on the 15-day IL on Sunday due to a Grade 1 right hamstring strain he sustained May 3 against Atlanta. He is eligible to return May 19, and the right-hander might only miss the minimum. Phillips has eight saves with a 0.66 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 17:4 K:BB over 13.2 innings this season. • Back in lineup Friday
Goldschmidt is starting at first base and batting third in the lineup for Friday's game against the Brewers, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Goldschmidt was absent from the starting lineup in the team's 7-1 loss to Milwaukee on Thursday. The veteran first baseman has not registered a hit over his last six appearances, and he is slashing .195/.287/.263 with a 31.3 percent strikeout rate this season. Goldschmidt will look to get back on track against Brewers rookie southpaw Robert Gasser. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:28 pm
