    • Not expected to make next start
Gray is not expected to make his next start after being diagnosed with a mild right groin strain, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Advice: Gray had to be lifted from Tuesday's start versus the Phillies because of the injury. It's not clear yet whether Gray will require a trip to the injured list, but it would seem to be a distinct possibility. He had been slated to start Sunday in Minnesota, but the Rangers now might need Jose Urena to take the ball that day. Rotowire.com 10 minutes ago

    • Still on track for Monday return
Lodolo (groin) threw a successful extended bullpen session Wednesday and is set to throw off the mound again Saturday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Advice: Assuming he comes out of Saturday's session without any hiccups, Lodolo will be set to return from the 15-day injured list to start against the Cardinals on Monday, the first day he'll be eligible for activation. The left-hander is working his way back from a left groin strain. Rotowire.com 31 minutes ago

    • Sitting Thursday
Campusano is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Reds.

Advice: Campusano will rest for the Thursday afternoon game after he started behind the plate Tuesday and Wednesday while going 1-for-7 with a run scored. Kyle Higashioka will draw the start at catcher and will form a battery with right-hander Matt Waldron. Rotowire.com 55 minutes ago

    • Marcell Ozuna’s three-run blast lifts Braves in win
Marcell Ozuna went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer to power the Braves to a 9-2 victory over the Cubs on Wednesday.

Advice: Ozuna’s incredible season continues with another home run on Wednesday. This one was a three-run blast off Jose Cuas in the seventh inning to extend the Atlanta lead. It was Ozuna’s third homer in four games and 15th of the season while slashing an outstanding .324/.405/.641 with 46 RBI across 195 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:10 pm

    • Quality start in Wednesday's loss
Brown (1-5) took the loss Wednesday, giving up two runs on two hits and three walks over six innings in a 2-1 loss to the Angels. He struck out three.

Advice: The right-hander put together arguably his best start of the season and made only one real mistake, but a fifth-inning sinker got too much of the plate and Kyren Paris drove it out of the park to left-center field for a two-run homer. It was only Brown's second quality start of the year, and he's served up nine home runs in just 43.1 innings, fueling a 7.06 ERA. With Ronel Blanco (suspension) rejoining the rotation this weekend and Jose Urquidy (forearm) likely not far behind in his return, it's not clear when Brown might make his next trip to the mound. • Light workload in first rehab outing
Rodriguez (back) allowed an unearned run on one hit and one walk while retiring one batter in his rehab appearance for Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday.

Advice: Rodriguez tossed 16 pitches in the outing, his first at any level since the Blue Jays placed him on the 15-day injured list April 30 with thoracic spine inflammation. Per Keegan Matheson of MLB.com, Rodriguez is scheduled to cover two innings and toss around 30-to-35 pitches in his next rehab appearance later this week, which could be his last before he makes his return from the IL. • Evan Phillips to throw live bullpen on Thursday
Evan Phillips (hamstring) is scheduled to throw a live bullpen session on Thursday at High-A Rancho Cucamonga.

Advice: If all goes well with that session, he’ll begin a minor league rehab assignment there on Sunday. Phillips should only need a couple of tune-ups there before he’s ready to rejoin the Dodgers’ bullpen and return to his closer’s role. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:06 pm

    • Hunter Brown takes loss after quality start
Hunter Brown took a tough loss after allowing two runs and two hits in six innings Wednesday against the Angels.

Advice: Brown did his part in delivering just his second quality start of the year, but the Astros offense didn’t show up today. Brown is now 1-5 with a 7.06 ERA, and he might spend more time in the bullpen with Ronel Blanco set to return from suspension. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:21 pm

    • Returns to starting nine
Steer (ankle) will start at first base and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the Padres.

Advice: Steer didn't start in either of the last two games while managing a sore ankle, though he felt well enough to make a pinch-hitting appearance in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Dodgers. Monday's team off day plus an absence from the lineup in Tuesday's 2-0 win over San Diego appears to have provided sufficient time for Steer to move past the ankle issue. He'll likely continue to see the bulk of his starts at first base rather than in the corner outfield for the duration of Christian Encarnacion-Strand's (wrist) stint on the injured list.
