    • Sixto Sánchez lifted with lead in fifth
Sixto Sánchez yielded two runs in four-plus innings Friday in a no-decision against the Rangers.

Advice: Sánchez, who went without a strikeout tonight, was pulled with a 4-1 lead after giving up a double and a single to start the fifth. Declan Cronin took over then and did a nice job in allowing only one of the runners to score. Sánchez has completed five innings just once seven starts for the Marlins, and he’s still looking for the first victory of his comeback. His ERA stands at 6.06. Rotoworld 18 minutes ago
    • Robbie Ray to pitch in ACL game next week
Robbie Ray (elbow) is scheduled to pitch in an Arizona Complex League game at some point next week as he continues his recovery from Tommy John surgery.

Advice: Ray continues to make strides toward a return to the Giants’ rotation. He’s going to wind up needing several minor league rehab starts after he’s finished with his work in the Arizona Complex League before he’s ready to return. As long as he avoids any setbacks along the way, he could be ready to make his Giants’ debut before the All-Star break. Rotoworld Today, 5:10 pm

    • Back from IL
The Dodgers reinstated Phillips (hamstring) from the 15-day injured list Friday, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Advice: Phillips was forced onto the injured list May 5 after suffering a right hamstring strain. He's since thrown 1.2 innings of shutout ball while striking out three batters and walking none during a rehab assignment with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga. The 29-year-old right-hander should immediately retain his spot as the Dodgers' closer -- a role he thrived in prior to getting injured, giving up just one earned run in 13.2 frames while collecting eight saves. Elieser Hernandez was designated for assignment in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Today, 4:20 pm

    • Dodgers activate Evan Phillips from 15-day IL
Dodgers activated RHP Evan Phillips from the 15-day injured list.

Advice: The 29-year-old closer finally returns to the Dodgers’ bullpen after landing on the injured list with a hamstring strain. While Daniel Hudson and Blake Treinen did a nice job in his absence, expect Phillips to jump right into the team’s ninth-inning role. On the season, he holds a minuscule 0.66 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and a 17/4 K/BB ratio over 13 2/3 innings of work while recording eight saves. Rotoworld Today, 3:57 pm

    • Lars Nootbaar (oblique) to miss several weeks
Cardinals’ manager Oli Marmol told reporters on Friday that Lars Nootbaar is dealing with a moderate oblique strain and is expected to miss several weeks.

Advice: It won’t be a minimum stint on the injured list for the 26-year-old outfielder this time around. It sounds like he’s looking at an extended absence and will then require a minor league rehab assignment before he’s able to return to the Cardinals’ outfield. Look for Alec Burleson to see increased action in Nootbaar’s absence. Rotoworld Today, 1:40 pm

    • Facing long-term absence
Manager Oli Marmol said Friday that Nootbar (oblique) is expected to miss several weeks, John Denton of MLB.com

Advice: On top of what seems to be a multi-week absence, Nootbar will need at least a week-long rehab assignment in the minors, meaning the 26-year-old may miss the entirety of June. While he's sidelined, Alec Burleson should serve as St. Louis' everyday right fielder while Matt Carpenter should see the brunt of the DH work. Rotowire.com Today, 1:29 pm

    • Cardinals placed OF Lars Nootbaar on 10-day IL
Cardinals placed OF Lars Nootbaar on the 10-day IL with an oblique strain.

Advice: The move is retroactive to May 30th. Nootbaar felt something in his side after taking a swing and was removed from Wednesday’s game. Now he lands on the injured list and will be sidelined for at least 10 days. Alec Burleson and Dylan Carlson will see increased playing time in the outfield in Nootbaar’s stead. • Lands on IL with oblique strain
The Cardinals placed Nootbaar on the 10-day injured list Friday, retroactive to May 30, with a left oblique strain.

Advice: Nootbaar suffered the injury on a check swing during Wednesday's win over the Reds. It's the outfielder's second stint on the IL this season, as he previously missed time with two fractured ribs. The timing is poor, as Nootbaar was slashing .313/.418/.552 with four home runs over his last 79 plate appearances. With Nootbaar out, Alec Burleson will play more in the outfield and Matt Carpenter will see time at designated hitter. Rotowire.com Today, 9:10 am

    • Makes short rehab start
Rodriguez (back) struck out one and allowed two hits and two walks over 1.2 scoreless innings in his latest rehab start Sunday with Triple-A Buffalo.

Advice: Making his second rehab appearance for Buffalo, Rodriguez was lifted after just 16 pitches in what was apparently a pre-planned arrangement, per MLB.com. Rodriguez is scheduled to start again for Buffalo on Friday and is expected to work multiple innings, but he'll still likely require at least one more rehab outing beyond that before the Blue Jays bring him back from the 15-day injured list. Prior to landing on the IL on April 30 with thoracic spine inflammation, Rodriguez had been working as a tandem starter with Bowden Francis (forearm), who is also on the IL but is expected to be activated this weekend. Alek Manoah has since taken over the No. 5 spot in the rotation, but after Manoah exited Wednesday's start with an elbow injury that required an MRI, he could be in danger of landing on the IL him self. If that ends up being the case, the Rodriguez/Francis tandem pairing could soon be called upon again. Rotowire.com Today, 8:17 am
