    • Rockies recall top prospect Amador from Double-A
Rockies recalled INF Adael Amador from Double-A Hartford.

Advice: As expected, Amador is up from Double-A to take the roster spot of Brendan Rodgers after Rodgers was placed on the injured list. He’ll hit eighth and play second base in his MLB debut Sunday. Amador is the top hitting prospect in the Colorado system, and while he’s registered just a .664 OPS thus far in Double-A, he’s been much better with the bat as of late with six homers in his last 10 games. There’s some serious risk with a 21-year-old coming up from Double-A, but there’s potential for reward as well. Rotoworld Today, 8:27 am

    • Shifts to 60-day IL
Atlanta transferred Acuna (knee) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Sunday.

Advice: The 26-year-old recently underwent season-ending surgery to repair the torn ACL in his left knee, so it was only a matter of time before he was moved to the 60-day IL to free up a spot on the 40-man roster. Acuna will have nearly 10 months of recovery and rehab before Opening Day in 2025, so there's a chance he's ready for the start of next season. Rotowire.com Today, 6:48 am

    • Atlanta moves Acuña Jr. to 60-day injured list
Braves transferred OF Ronald Acuña Jr. from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day injured list.

Advice: It’s a procedural move that creates room on the 40-man roster. Acuña Jr. will miss the rest of 2024 after undergoing surgery Wednesday to repair a torn ACL in his left knee. Rotoworld Today, 6:37 am

    • Not used in save situation
Diaz was not brought in to close out Saturday's 4-3 win over the Cubs.

Advice: Lucas Sims opened the ninth inning before departing with two runners on base, giving way to Lucas Sims, and then Justin Wilson picked up the save. Presumably, Diaz was not used because he threw 42 pitches over the previous two days while working in back-to-back appearances leading up to Saturday's game. Rotowire.com Today, 6:11 am

    • Drops contest against Dodgers
Cortes (3-5) took the loss against the Dodgers on Saturday, allowing four runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out four batters over 5.1 innings.

Advice: Cortes gave up a pair of solo homers among the seven total hits Los Angeles tallied against him, and the four runs he yielded tied a season-high mark. The lefty hurler did at least manage to keep New York within striking range -- though the game ended in a blowout, most of the Dodgers' damage came after Cortes' departure. Cortes is hanging onto a respectable 3.68 ERA on the season, though his current 8.7 K/9 is on pace for his lowest mark since a four-appearance cup of coffee as a rookie in 2018. • Nestor Cortes shaky again in loss to Dodgers
Nestor Cortes gave up four runs while working 5 1/3 innings in a loss Saturday to the Dodgers.

Advice: Cortes gave up two homers, one to Teoscar Hernandez and another to Enrique Hernandez (note: no relation). The left-hander continues to pitch at an inconsistent level, but his 3.68 ERA and 1.12 WHIP help tell the story that there’s been more better than bitter. He’s scheduled to face the Royals on Thursday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:04 pm

    • Records fourth steal
Cowser went 0-for-1 with a walk and a stolen base in Saturday's 5-0 win over the Rays.

Advice: Cowser has seen fairly steady playing time recently, but he's gone just 7-for-56 (.125) with a 4:19 BB:K over his last 18 contests. He was on the bench to begin Saturday's contest but entered as a replacement for Kyle Stowers (wrist). Left field and center field have been up for grabs for the Orioles with Cowser, Cedric Mullins and Austin Hays all struggling to some extent. For the season, Cowser is slashing .229/.325/.417 with seven home runs, four steals, 26 RBI and 26 runs scored over 203 plate appearances. Aside from the potential promotion of an outfielder from Triple-A Norfolk, Cowser should continue to play regularly versus right-handed pitchers at a minimum, though he hasn't hit well enough to maintain an everyday role. • Labors through scoreless frame
Kopech allowed one hit and one walk while striking out two across a scoreless ninth inning Saturday against the Red Sox.

Advice: Kopech was called upon to protect a five-run lead. He did so successfully, though he allowed three hitters to reach base -- he hit a batter in addition to the walk and hit he surrendered -- and required 33 pitches to retire the side. Though it was shaky, the outing was still positive for Kopech as he had allowed at least one run in three of his last four appearances entering Saturday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:45 pm
    • Steals 34th bag in win
De La Cruz went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Cubs.

Advice: De La Cruz reached on a single in the fifth and proceeded to swipe his MLB-leading 34th bag. After going six straight games without a steal, he now has a swipe in back-to-back games as he continues his torrid pace on the basepaths. The 22-year-old leads MLB with 87 strikeouts but he continues to make up for it with great counting stats. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:36 pm
