    • Miller blows first save of the season Thursday
Mason Miller blew the save against the Rays on Thursday.

Advice: Miller entered the ninth inning with a 4-3 lead and allowed a solo home run to Jose Siri. It was his first blown save of the season. Miller had basically been untouchable all season as he converted his first 11 saves. His ERA is now 2.08 on the year. Miller remains one of the most dominant relievers in all of baseball and would likely remain in a closing role if traded to a contender later this year.

    • Could be activated next week
Manager Kevin Cash said that Eflin (back) will throw a light bullpen session Thursday and a "ramped-up bullpen session" Sunday before the Rays decide his next steps, Ryan Bass of Bally Sports Sun reports.

Advice: Cash noted that the Rays will wait and see how Eflin feels following Sunday's session, but if his lower-back injury isn't providing any complications, he could be cleared to return from the 15-day injured list next week. When Eflin was placed on the IL on May 20, Cash estimated that the right-hander would need 2-to-4 weeks to make a full recovery, and Eflin currently looks to be tracking toward the short end of that timeline. • Lit up for seven runs
Allen (6-3) took the loss against the Rockies on Wednesday, allowing seven runs on six hits and two walks over 1.2 innings while striking out one.

Advice: Allen gave up one run on an infield single in the opening frame before getting obliterated in the second inning, beginning with a single from Elehuris Montero and ending with an RBI double from Elias Diaz. The lefty was then relieved by Eli Morgan with just two outs in the frame, marking his shortest outing of the season. It was actually Allen's second time this month in which he allowed seven runs in a start, while the loss also snapped a streak of three consecutive wins for the second-year pitcher. • Logan Allen hit for seven runs in loss to Rockies
Logan Allen allowed seven runs over 1 2/3 innings in a loss to the Rockies in Wednesday.

Advice: Allen gave up a run on a walk and a base hit in the first inning. He then could not escape the second as the Rockies brought six more runs in to score, including a two-run homer by Brendan Rodgers, chasing Allen from the game with two outs at 59 pitches. The 25-year-old left-hander ends the day with a 5.83 ERA, 1.55 WHIP, and a 51/20 K/BB ratio across 58 2/3 innings. Allen is in line for a start against the Royals in Cleveland next Wednesday. • Tagged for 12 hits in loss
Harrison (4-2) took the loss Wednesday against the Phillies, allowing four runs on 12 hits and a walk over five innings. He struck out five.

Advice: Harrison's final line ultimately could've looked a lot worse, as he surrendered a career-most 12 hits. The 22-year-old southpaw's hit a rough patch of late, giving up three or more runs over five innings in each of his last four starts. Harrison's ERA is up to 4.15 through 12 starts (65 innings) this year with a 1.40 WHIP and 60:22 K:BB. He'll look to get on track in his next outing, currently lined up for early next week in Arizona. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 5:21 pm

    • Kyle Harrison allows two homers in loss to Phillies
Kyle Harrison surrendered four runs over five innings on Wednesday in a loss to the Phillies.

Advice: Harrison was knocked around for a staggering 12 hits, including homers by Kyle Schwarber and Nick Castellanos, so it’s pretty remarkable that he managed to limit the damage to just four runs over five frames of work. He racked up five strikeouts and only handed out one free pass. The 22-year-old southpaw will bring a respectable 4.15 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 60/22 K/BB ratio across 65 innings (12 starts) into a road tilt on Tuesday against the division-rival Diamondbacks. • Hangs on for 18th save
Helsley earned the save in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Reds, allowing a run on a hit and two walks in the ninth inning.

Advice: Protecting a three-run lead in the ninth, Helsley allowed the first two batters to reach. He'd allow a run on a Tyler Stephenson sacrifice fly before ultimately getting Elly De La Cruz to ground out with the tying runs on base. Helsley has now converted 18 straight save chances despite allowing at least one run in his last three appearances. Overall, the 29-year-old right-hander sports a 2.52 ERA with a 1.16 WHIP and 25:6 K:BB over 25 innings this season. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 2:28 pm

    • Ryan Helsley again gives up run, earns save
Ryan Helsley notched his 18th save after giving up a run in the ninth Wednesday against the Reds.

Advice: Helsley has bent but not broke these last three appearances, giving up a total of four ninth-inning runs while still converting the save opportunity each time. His ERA has doubled from 1.23 to 2.52, but he’s 18-for-19 on the year. Rotoworld Wednesday, 1:40 pm

    • Hits IL with shoulder impingement
The Mets placed Diaz on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with a right shoulder impingement.

Advice: Left-hander Josh Walker was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse to take Diaz's spot on the 26-man active roster and in the New York bullpen. After blowing ninth-inning leads in four of his last five appearances, Diaz had already been expected to get a break from closing duties, and his injury will only further delay his opportunity to resurface as the Mets' preferred ninth-inning man. Reed Garrett and Adam Ottavino likely represent the best bets for saves out of the Mets bullpen while Diaz is on the shelf. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 1:01 pm
