    • Randy Arozarena absent from Rays lineup on Friday
Randy Arozarena is absent from the Rays’ starting lineup for Friday night’s battle against the Orioles.

Advice: The 29-year-old outfielder’s struggles have been well documented this season, as he’s hitting a mere .159/.258/.313 with eight homers, 19 RBI and a 66/25 K/BB ratio over 229 plate appearances. Jonny DeLuca will start in his place in left field and will bat fifth for the Rays against Albert Suarez and the Orioles on Friday evening in Baltimore. Rotoworld Today, 1:54 pm

    • Getting break Friday
Arozarena is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Orioles, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: Arozarena will get a break after starting the last four games for Tampa Bay, going 2-for-12 with one RBI in that stretch. The 29-year-old outfielder will cede left-field duties to Jonny DeLuca, who will bat fifth while Jose Siri and Richie Palacios round out Tampa Bay's outfield. Rotowire.com Today, 1:13 pm

    • Expects to be back when eligible
O'Neill (knee) said Friday that he expects to be activated from the 10-day injured list when first eligible Wednesday, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

Advice: O'Neill was given a cortisone injection to combat inflammation in his right knee and said the shot has helped a lot. It would appear he's likely to skip a rehab assignment and return when his 10 days are up. O'Neill has just a .545 OPS and 43.9 percent strikeout in May after collecting a 1.127 OPS and 24.4 percent strikeout rate in April. Rotowire.com Today, 12:43 pm

    • Swipes fourth bag
Albies went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double and a stolen base in Thursday's loss to the Nationals.

Advice: Atlanta's offense remains in a funk, managing only five hits and one run Thursday, but Albies has been one of the few consistent bright spots in the lineup of late. The second baseman's hit safely in six straight games, and since May 13 he's slashing .313/.375/.391. Albies still isn't providing much power -- he hasn't homered in 19 straight games and has only three long balls on the year -- but he has contributed four steals, 25 runs and 25 RBI through 46 contests. • Ozzie Albies reaches three teams, steals base
Ozzie Albies reached three times and stole a base in a loss Thursday to the Nationals.

Advice: Albies doubled, singled and drew a walk to complete that three-reach game. The stolen base is the fourth for the 27-year-old, and it’s possible we see him take off more often over the final 100-plus games of the season, but far from a guarantee. It’d also be nice to see more pop from a hitter that hit 33 homers last year, as he’s still stuck on three roundtrippers over 184 at-bats. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:00 pm

    • Francisco Alvarez homers Thursday in rehab game
Francisco Alvarez (thumb) crushed a three-run homer on Thursday in a minor league rehab contest for Double-A Binghamton.

Advice: Alvarez kicked off his minor league rehab assignment by catching five innings behind the plate and slugging a monstrous three-run homer in his second plate appearance. The 22-year-old backstop, who is recovering from last month’s thumb surgery, will likely need a couple more tune-up games before returning to New York. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:29 pm

    • Shut down for at least one month
Schmidt (lat) will be shut down for 4-to-6 weeks, Greg Joyce of the New York Post reports.

Advice: Schmidt landed on the injured list Thursday, and he'll be in line for a lengthy absence. He'll be sidelined until the All-Star break, leaving the Yankees shorthanded in the rotation until Gerrit Cole (elbow) can return. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:48 pm

    • Anthony Volpe aims to extend hitting streak to 22
Anthony Volpe will carry a 21-game hitting streak into Thursday’s series finale against the Angels.

Advice: Volpe can surpass Diamondbacks star Ketel Marte for the longest hitting streak in the majors this season with another knock during Thursday’s series finale in Los Angeles. The 23-year-old shortstop’s offseason overhaul to his swing and offensive approach have resulted in a robust .288 batting average to go along with six homers and 11 stolen bases. He’s recorded at least one hit in 21 straight contests since May 7. He’s a long way from Joe DiMaggio’s 56-game streak, but it’s an interesting wrinkle for fantasy managers to continue monitoring. • Two hits, homer vs. Brewers
Bellinger went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in Thursday's 6-4 loss to Milwaukee.

Advice: Bellinger opened the scoring with a two-out solo shot off Colin Rea, giving the Cubs a 1-0 lead in the first inning with his eighth homer of the year and his first in 18 games. While he hadn't been hitting for much power, Bellinger's been seeing the ball well recently -- he has hits in six straight games, going 11-for-27 (.407) in that span, including five consecutive two-hit efforts. The 28-year-old outfielder is now slashing .267/.332/.471 with 26 RBI and 19 runs scored through 190 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:34 pm
