    • Jack Flaherty exits Tuesday with possible injury
Jack Flaherty left Tuesday’s start against the Rangers with a possible injury.

Advice: Flaherty was cruising with four strikeouts and needed just 60 pitches (44 strikes) to navigate five scoreless frames before being lifted from the contest. No word yet on the reason for his removal, but Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press adds that Flaherty was spotted stretching in the dugout prior to his early exit. There should be an update on his status shortly. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:51 pm

    • Luis Gil dazzles over six scoreless vs. Twins
Luis Gil recorded six strikeouts over six shutout innings on Tuesday in a win over the Twins.

Advice: The breakout sensation of the 2024 campaign so far, Gil kept rolling on Tuesday evening at Yankee Stadium, scattering one hit and three walks over six nearly-flawless frames against a talented Minnesota lineup. He’s emerged as an early AL Cy Young Award contender this season, allowing one earned run or fewer in seven consecutive starts since May 1. The 26-year-old righty won’t be able to sustain these sublime results long-term, but he’s rapidly evolved into a legitimate upper-echelon fantasy contributor, thanks to his ability to consistently miss bats and avoid hard contact. He’ll carry a microscopic 1.82 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 85/34 K/BB ratio across 69 1/3 innings (12 starts) into a challenging matchup on Sunday against the Dodgers. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:40 pm

    • Bobby Witt Jr homers twice in loss
Bobby Witt Jr. went 3-for-5 with two home runs and four RBI in a loss to the Guardians on Tuesday.

Advice: Witt smacked both long balls off of Triston McKenzie, hitting a 434-foot shot in the third inning and then a massive 454-foot bomb in the fourth inning. He now has 11 home runs on the year to go along with 46 RBI and a .319/.371/.565 slash line. With the injury to Ronald Acuna Jr. and the struggles of Julio Rodriguez, Bobby Witt Jr. is setting up to be the number-one pick in fantasy leagues next year. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:27 pm
    • Luis Arraez returns to lineup Tuesday vs. Angels
Luis Arraez (shoulder) is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s showdown against the Angels.

Advice: Arraez is back at designated hitter and leading off on Tuesday night in Los Angeles following a brief one-game absence due to relatively minor right shoulder and neck issues. The 27-year-old contact-oriented infielder has been excellent since arriving in San Diego, batting .391 (43-for-110) with one homer and three steals across 26 contests. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:50 pm

    • Rejoining lineup Tuesday
Arraez (shoulder/neck) is batting leadoff as the designated hitter Tuesday against the Angels.

Advice: The 27-year-old sat out Monday's contest due to the shoulder/neck injury he suffered on a slide Sunday, and he'll be eased back into the lineup Tuesday in a non-defensive capacity. Arraez is in the midst of an eight-game hit streak, during which he's batting .375 with no extra-base hits, five RBI and five runs. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:38 pm

    • Absent from Tuesday's lineup
Carroll is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Giants.

Advice: One day after being moved down to the No. 8 spot in the Diamondbacks' batting order, Carroll is now out of the lineup altogether. Both games have come versus left-handers. Carroll is hitting a woeful .192/.280/.281 during his massively disappointing 2024 campaign. Jake McCarthy is in center field Tuesday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:51 pm
    • Corbin Carroll not in lineup Tuesday vs. southpaw
Corbin Carroll is absent from the lineup for Tuesday’s contest against the Giants.

Advice: Carroll was dropped to the eighth spot in Arizona’s lineup earlier this week for the first time this season and will take a seat on Tuesday evening for the first time since May 15 with lefty Kyle Harrison toeing the rubber for San Francisco in this one. The 23-year-old has struggled to a calamitous .561 OPS with two homers and nine steals through 58 games. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:50 pm
    • Report: Padres pursuing trade for Garrett Crochet
The Athletic’s Dennis Lin and Ken Rosenthal report the Padres have shown strong interest in trade discussions for White Sox left-hander Garrett Crochet.

Advice: Here we go. No word on how close a potential deal may be, but it’s worth noting the two sides struck a deal a few months ago centered around White Sox ace Dylan Cease and appear to be circling another potential blockbuster. San Diego’s starting pitching depth took a serious hit last weekend with Yu Darvish (groin) and Joe Musgrove (elbow) landing on the injured list so it wouldn’t be shocking to see Padres general manager AJ Preller getting aggressive to fill the void. Crochet is in the midst of an unexpected breakout campaign with a stellar 3.49 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 93/15 K/BB ratio across 69 2/3 innings (13 starts). The former top prospect is still only 24 years old and figures to command an astronomical asking price in trade talks. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:13 pm
    • Officially activated from IL
The White Sox activated Robert (hip) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday.

Advice: Robert wound up missing more than two months of action with a Grade 2 right hip flexor strain. The center fielder went just 3-for-27 during eight rehab games, although two of those hits were home runs. Robert is not expected to be an everyday player right out of the chute upon his activation, as he will have some extra off days mixed in as he eases back into things. He is, however, in Tuesday's lineup versus the Cubs, batting third and playing center field. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:42 pm
