• Josh Bell collects three hits in loss to Rays
Josh Bell went 3-for-4 and drove in a run as the Marlins fell to the Rays on Wednesday evening in Miami.

Advice: Bell plated Vidal Brujan with a run-scoring single off of Shawn Armstrong in the fifth inning, pulling the Marlins to within two runs at 5-3. That would be as close as they would get. The 31-year-old slugger’s bat has perked up since a rough April and is now hitting .255/.324/.391 with six homers and 30 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:03 pm
  • Pavin Smith has three hits, homers in losing effort
Pavin Smith went 3-for-4 with a solo homer on Wednesday in the Diamondbacks’ loss to the Giants.

Advice: Smith has been running hot over the last few weeks as he’s homered in back-to-back games and is batting a sizzling .355 (11-for-31) with two homers and seven RBI over his last 15 contests. There isn’t a ton of appeal here for fantasy managers outside of NL-only formats, but he’s a name to keep on radar screens in the even that he can keep the momentum going. • Wilmer Flores homers, plates five in blowout win
Wilmer Flores went 2-for-5 with a grand slam and five RBI on Wednesday in the Giants’ lopsided win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Flores played a pivotal role in San Francisco’s unexpected six-run explosion against Arizona starter Jordan Montgomery in the third inning of this one, walloping a grand slam to left field for his second big fly of the season. It was the first time he’s gone deep since May 4. He also picked up an additional RBI in the late stages of the contest with a ninth-inning sacrifice fly. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:13 pm
  • Drives in five in win
Flores went 2-for-4 with a walk, a home run and five RBI in Wednesday's 9-3 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: The Giants launched three homers on the day, but Flores' grand slam off Jordan Montgomery in the third inning proved to be the biggest blow. Flores snapped a 21-game homer drought with the blast, but that May 4 shot was his only other homer on the season. The 32-year-old's five RBI on Wednesday equaled his total from his prior 26 games combined. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:45 pm
  • Joey Gallo plates lone run in loss to Mets
Joey Gallo went 1-for-2 and drove in the Nationals’ lone run in Wednesday afternoon’s loss to the Mets.

Advice: Gallo led off the sixth inning with a single but was quickly erased on a double play ball. He then drove in a run with a sacrifice fly off of Luis Severino in the eighth inning to finally get the Nats on the board. The 30-year-old slugger has been about as expected this season — hitting .164/.285/.336 with five homers, 11 RBI and a 65/19 K/BB ratio over 151 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:38 pm

  • Spencer Steer slugs go-ahead homer vs. Rockies
Spencer Steer walloped a go-ahead two-run homer in the ninth inning on Wednesday in the Reds’ comeback win over the Rockies.

Advice: Steer was the hero on Wednesday afternoon at Coors Field for Cincinnati as he delivered a clutch go-ahead homer off Rockies closer Jalen Beeks with the Reds down to their final out. It was his seventh round-tripper of the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:31 pm

  • Jeimer Candelario homers, steals two bases in win
Jeimer Candelario blasted a two-run homer and also stole a pair of bases on Wednesday in the Reds’ comeback victory over the Rockies.

Advice: Candelario clobbered a two-run homer off Rockies starter Dakota Hudson in the third inning before recording his 700th career hit in the fifth inning of this one as he put together one of his strongest performances of the year on Wednesday afternoon at Coors Field. His multi-steal performance was the first of his career and he had just 15 career stolen bases across 799 contests in the majors since 2016. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:28 pm

  • Beginning rehab assignment
The Rangers assigned Foscue (oblique) to the organization's affiliate in the Arizona Complex League for a rehab assignment Wednesday.

Advice: The 25-year-old landed on the injured list with an oblique strain shortly after making his MLB debut April 6, but he's now been cleared for game action. Foscue will be eligible to be reinstated from the 60-day injured list next week, but he may require more games in the minors before being cleared to rejoin the big club. • Kris Bryant (rib) likely heading to injured list
Kris Bryant is expected to be placed on the injured list prior to Thursday’s series opener against the Cardinals in St. Louis.

Advice: The 32-year-old slugger missed his third consecutive game on Wednesday due to soreness in his rib that he suffered while making a twisting catch against the Dodgers over the weekend — and he did not respond to treatment that was done on Wednesday. The oft-injured outfielder is hitting an abysmal .186/.307/.279 with just two homers and 10 RBI in 101 plate appearances on the season. Even in deeper fantasy leagues, it’s time to cut bait if you haven’t already done so. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:40 pm
