• Elias Díaz homers, drives in three against Giants
Elias Díaz went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI against the Giants on Wednesday.

Advice: Díaz brought a run in to score with a base hit in the fifth inning. With a runner on and two outs in the ninth, he brought the Rockies to within two with a home run off Camilo Doval. The 33-year-old catcher is slashing a solid .303/.354/.435 with three homers and 18 RBI across 127 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:31 pm

  • Goes yard again
Sanchez went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and an additional run scored during Wednesday's 6-4 loss to Kansas City.

Advice: Sanchez notched his second home run of the series Wednesday, tagging Nick Anderson for a solo homer in the seventh inning. The 31-year-old has slowly been climbing out of his early season slump, collecting eight hits in his last 23 at-bats, with four home runs during that stretch. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:47 pm
  • Mitch Garver slugs solo homer in loss to Twins
Mitch Garver went 2-for-3 with a solo homer and a walk against the Twins on Wednesday.

Advice: After drawing a walk in the second inning, Garver put the Mariners on the board in the fourth with a solo homer off Chris Paddack, extending his hitting streak to five games. He added a base hit in the sixth for his second hit of the day. The 33-year-old slugger is slashing .181/.290/.352 with four homers and 10 RBI across 124 plate appearances. • Tyler Soderstrom slugs two-run homer vs. Rangers
Tyler Soderstrom went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer on Wednesday against the Rangers.

Advice: Soderstrom got the call to join Oakland for Wednesday’s doubleheader against Texas and made the most of his start. After knocking a base hit in the second inning, he took Jack Leiter deep for a two-run homer in the fourth. Soderstrom had an injury scare in the eighth after taking a pitch off his knee, but was able to stay in the game. He offers some power upside with catcher eligibility if he gets an extended look in the majors. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:17 pm
  • Wong records two more hits against Braves
Connor Wong went 2-for-4 with a double in Wednesday’s loss to the Braves.

Advice: Wong continues to hit. He’s up to .354 on the season with a .964 OPS. While Wong is a career .249 hitter, he’s cut his career strikeout rate from 31 percent to 21 percent this year. If he keeps that up, there’s certainly reason to believe he can be an asset in batting average for the rest of the season.

  • Shea Langeliers homers, plates five in A’s win
Shea Langeliers went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer and five RBI, powering the Athletics to a 9-4 win over the Rangers in the opening contest of Wednesday’s doubleheader.

Advice: Langeliers blasted a go-ahead two-run shot off Rangers starter Michael Lorenzen in the second inning before adding a two-run double in the fourth inning and an RBI triple a couple frames later to cap off a stellar five-RBI performance. He’ll presumably be back at designated hitter for the nightcap of Wednesday’s twin bill after catching the front-end of the doubleheader. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:06 pm
  • Hitting bench Wednesday
Trevino is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros.

Advice: Though he'll give way to Austin Wells behind the plate Wednesday, Trevino appears to be the Yankees' preferred option at catcher for the moment. Trevino started in each of the past three games, with two of those starts coming against right-handers. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:34 pm
  • Taking seat Wednesday
Rortvedt is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the White Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: The White Sox are bringing a right-hander (Chris Flexen) to the mound, but he's been far more effective against lefties (.314 wOBA) than righties (.372 wOBA) for his career, which likely explains why the lefty-hitting Rortvedt is on the bench. Alex Jackson will fill in for Rortvedt behind the plate. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:58 pm
  • Hits in batting cage
Atlanta manager Brian Snitker said Wednesday that Murphy (oblique) has progressed to hitting in the batting cage, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Murphy's recovery from a Grade 1 left oblique strain has inched along at a snail's pace, but he's finally making noteworthy progress. Given that he's already missed nearly six weeks of action, he will no doubt require a handful of minor-league rehab games before returning from the 10-day injured list. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:44 pm
