    • Luis Severino lasts seven innings in no-decision
Luis Severino allowed four runs in seven innings against the Astros on Sunday. He struck out three and walked one.

Advice: Severino pitched better than his line would indicate. The Astros dinked and dunked most of their hits as Severino pounded the zone with sinkers. He threw that pitch 63% of the time along with 14% four-seam fastballs along with 5% cutters; that made 82% of his total pitches fastball variations. This strategy has helped fuel Severino’s bounce-back season with a 3.42 ERA, yet only 74 strikeouts in 97 1/3 innings. Rotoworld Today, 4:35 pm

    • Out of Sunday's lineup
Heim is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles.

Advice: Heim has a .163/.265/.233 slash line in his past 13 games and will sit for Sunday's series finale. Andrew Knizner will take over behind the plate and bat eighth. Rotowire.com Today, 1:59 pm

    • Aaron Judge blasts 31st home run
Aaron Judge went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer on Sunday against the Blue Jays.

Advice: 31 home runs and 82 RBI before the Fourth of July is inconceivable. It’s even more amazing when you consider Judge had just six home runs and 18 RBI on May 1st. There is no question that he’s the best power hitter in the game right now. Rotoworld Today, 1:39 pm

    • Riding pine Sunday
Fry is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals.

Advice: Jose Ramirez will get a day out of the infield and serve as the Guardians' designated hitter, so Fry will hit the bench to accommodate him. Fry had started in each of the last three games, going 4-for-10 with two doubles and two walks to bring his OPS up to .950 on the season. Rotowire.com Today, 10:53 am

    • Reaches 10-homer mark
Vientos went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Saturday's 9-6 loss to the Astros.

Advice: Vientos has flexed his power recently with five homers over his last nine games. In that span, he's batting .324 (12-for-37) with seven RBI and 10 runs scored. The third baseman is at a .297/.355/.578 slash line with 10 long balls, 23 RBI, 24 runs scored, no stolen bases and six doubles through 141 plate appearances this year. As long as the 24-year-old continues to hit well, he should have no trouble holding onto a starting job at the hot corner. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:11 pm

    • Struggles early in loss
Cortes (4-7) took the loss to the Blue Jays on Saturday, allowing three runs on seven hits and one walk with five strikeouts over 4.1 innings.

Advice: Cortes surrendered a two-run home run to Vladimir Guerrero in the first inning and an RBI double to Alejandro Kirk in the fourth. Cortes had rattled off three consecutive quality starts entering Saturday, but this was also the second time in June the southpaw was unable to complete five innings. On the season, the 29-year-old owns a 3.51 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 98:19 K:BB over 105 innings and lines up to face the Red Sox next week. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:08 pm

    • Vientos crushes 10th home run in loss Saturday
Mark Vientos went 2-for-4 with a solo home run against the Astros on Saturday.

Advice: Vientos’ home run was his 10th of the season. He hit a solo shot off Framber Valdez in the third inning. Vientos is hitting .297 with a .933 OPS and 23 RBI in 128 at-bats with New York this year. He should be rostered in all formats at this point. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:54 pm

    • Eyeing July return
Trout (knee) said Saturday that he's basically pain-free and expects to be reinstated from the 10-day injured list by the end of July, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports. Trout has yet to start running.

Advice: Manager Ron Washington said earlier Saturday that Trout was close to resuming baseball activities, and the veteran outfielder later confirmed as much. Outside of occasional soreness in his left knee as he recovers from surgery on a torn meniscus in May, Trout isn't experiencing any recurring pain and is eager to ramp up his workouts. Considering he's missed two months of action, Trout will likely require a rehab assignment in the minors before being activated from the IL. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:37 pm

    • Mike Trout (knee) plans return before end of July
Mike Trout (knee) told reporters on Saturday that he plans to return from the injured list before the end of July.

Advice: The 32-year-old superstar also noted that he’s pretty much pain-free except for some occasional soreness. Trout also admitted that he has yet to start running and there’s currently no timetable for him to do so. Interesting. This is starting to sound like a situation where the Angels are going to provide no updates, then suddenly one day he’ll be activated from the injured list and return to the lineup without anyone being the wiser.
