    • Jose Altuve belts 10th homer in loss on Sunday
Jose Altuve went 4-for-5 and belted his 10th home run of the season on Sunday, but it wasn’t enough to lead the Astros past the Angels in Los Angeles.

Advice: Altuve capped off a four-run rally in the sixth inning with his 406-foot (103.2 mph EV) two-run blast off of Hunter Strickland that extended the Astros’ lead to 7-4. That would be the extent of their scoring though. The 34-year-old second baseman also got the Astros on the board with a run-scoring single in the third inning then scored on an RBI knock by Jeremy Pena. He’s in the midst of another outstanding season at the dish — slashing .297/.348/.454 with 10 homers, 25 RBI and nine stolen bases. Rotoworld Today, 4:54 pm

    • Justin Verlander struggles again in no-decision
Justin Verlander struggled again in a no-decision against the Angels on Sunday, giving up four runs on seven hits over his five frames.

Advice: The 41-year-old hurler struck out three batters on the afternoon and didn’t allow a base on balls. The Angels scratched out a pair of runs on sacrifice flies off the bat of Nolan Schanuel, added another as Mickey Moniak bunted into a fielder’s choice in the fourth inning and then Willie Calhoun smacked a run-scoring single in the fifth. Still, Verlander exited with his team leading 7-4 and in line for a victory — but the Astros’ bullpen couldn’t hang on for him. He got just three swings and misses on 101 pitches in the game, posting a CSW of 28 percent. He’ll try to bounce back as he carries a 3.95 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and a 51/17 K/BB ratio (57 innings) into Saturday’s matchup against Tarik Skubal and the Tigers. Rotoworld Today, 4:54 pm
    • Smacks two doubles
Greene went 2-for-4 with two doubles, a walk, one run scored and one RBI in Sunday's win versus Milwaukee.

Advice: Greene broke out of a 2-for-19 slump Sunday, hitting two doubles to raise his season total to 14. The 23-year-old has shown improved power this season, matching last season's total of 11 home runs in 149 fewer plate appearances. On the season, the left fielder is slashing .243/.342/.451 with 11 home runs, 25 RBI and 43 runs scored over 272 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 4:19 pm

    • Gelof gets Sunday off against Blue Jays
Zack Gelof is not in the starting lineup Sunday against the Blue Jays.

Advice: This is technically the first off day that Gelof has had this year, not including when he hasn’t been available due to injury. He’ll take a break with Aledmys Diaz getting the start at second base. Rotoworld Today, 11:57 am

    • Getting first true off day
Gelof is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Gelof has started in all 47 games he's been healthy this season but will step out of the starting nine Sunday after going 0-for-9 with four strikeouts in his past four contests. Aledmys Diaz will handle the keystone and bat eighth in the series finale versus Toronto. Rotowire.com Today, 11:39 am

    • Idle vs. southpaw
Naylor is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Marlins.

Advice: With Miami sending southpaw Trevor Rogers to the mound Sunday, the lefty-hitting Naylor will begin the contest in the dugout while David Fry gets the start behind home plate. It's the third straight game Naylor has not started, as the 24-year-old has struggled at the plate since May 1, slashing .152/.186/.227 with a 32.9 percent strikeout rate over 66 at-bats during that span. • Hunter Brown tosses six scoreless to beat Halos
Hunter Brown struck out seven over six shutout innings on Saturday in a win over the Angels.

Advice: Brown followed up Houston ace Framber Valdez’s complete-game effort on Friday evening with his fourth consecutive quality start, scattering two hits and four walks over six impressive frames. Los Angeles had him on the ropes in the opening frame, but he managed to escape a bases-loaded jam by striking out Matt Thaiss on a 98.2 mph heater to extinguish the early threat. The 25-year-old righty has rebounded from an abysmal start to the year by posting a posting a 3.05 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 43/15 K/BB ratio across 38 1/3 innings (seven appearances, six starts) since May 5. He’ll square off against the Tigers on Friday in his next outing. Rotoworld Today, 3:14 am

    • Notches steal Saturday
Altuve went 2-for-5 with one RBI, a stolen base and one run scored in Saturday's 6-1 win over the Angels.

Advice: Altuve has been steady but not outstanding over his last 15 games, going 17-for-61 (.279) with two steals, four RBI and five runs scored in that span. He hasn't homered since May 20, taking a bit of the wind out of his sails after a strong start to the year in the power department. Overall, the second baseman is slashing .288/.340/.436 with nine homers, nine steals, 22 RBI and 37 runs scored over 64 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:34 pm

    • Works around four walks in win
Brown (2-5) allowed two hits and four walks while striking out seven over six scoreless innings to earn the win over the Angels on Saturday.

Advice: Brown logged his fourth straight quality start, and he's given up just six runs with a 26:8 K:BB over 24 innings, though this is his only win over that stretch. It continues a positive trend for Brown, who is pitching deeper into games, though his 4.3 BB/9 on the year remains alarmingly high. The right-hander also has a 5.58 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 67:29 K:BB over 61.1 innings through 13 appearances (12 starts). He's tentatively projected to make his next start at home versus the Tigers.
