Walker went 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI in Thursday's 11-1 win over the Angels.

Advice: Walker told Steve Gilbert of MLB.com that he was not happy with how he was handling fastballs, so he put in extra work in the batting cage this week. It paid off immediately when Walker belted a three-run homer off a four-seamer in the first inning to give Arizona a 3-0 lead. "I've been missing fastballs [and fouling them] straight back a little bit and it's been bothering me," Walker said. He followed that up a solo shot in the third -- a slider this time. The first baseman has three long balls over the last two games and leads the team with 15 home runs and 46 RBI through 69 contests. Rotowire.com Today, 4:47 am
    • Slugs eighth homer
Vaughn went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional RBI in Thursday's 3-2 extra-inning win over the Mariners.

Advice: Vaughn opened the scoring in the contest with a solo homer to center field in the third inning and later produced the game-winning RBI with a run-scoring groundout in the 10th. The first baseman has been swinging a hot bat of late with six multi-hit efforts over his past 10 contests. Vaughn has reached safely via hit or walk in 14 consecutive games and is slashing .327/.373/.600 with four homers, seven RBI and 10 runs over that span. Rotowire.com Today, 1:23 am

    • Christian Walker homers twice in blowout victory
Christian Walker plated four runs while homering twice in a blowout victory over the Angels on Thursday.

Advice: Walker made it 3-0 Diamondbacks in the first inning with his roundtripper off Griffin Canning with a pair of runners on. His second homer of the game came in the third inning, and it traveled an estimated 464 feet. That’s fair. Walker remains one of the more underappreciated sluggers in baseball with 15 homers and a .480 slugging mark over the first 69 games of the campaign. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:14 pm
    • Andrew Vaughn homers, plates game-winner in 10th
Andrew Vaughn homered and drove in the game-winning run Thursday against the Mariners.

Advice: Vaughn and Luis Robert Jr. went back-to-back in the third inning to give the White Sox a 2-0 lead. He also hit into a fielder’s choice in the 10th that score what ended up being the game-winning run. The first baseman has now homered eight times in 2024, and he’s started to swing the bat at a much better level in June with a slash of .361/.395/.667 over the month. • Hitting streak reaches 11
Reynolds went 1-for-5 with an RBI on Thursday against the Cardinals.

Advice: Reynolds hit a comebacker that glanced off Lance Lynn in the fifth inning to extend his hitting streak to 11 games. He's gone 15-for-46 in that span, while also tallying six RBI and five runs scored. Even with the strong stretch, Reynolds is hitting a mediocre .262 and also has an ISO of only .160 across 306 plate appearances this season -- the lowest mark of his career. • Diaz has two hits in win over Cubs Thursday
Yandy Diaz went 2-for-4 with an RBI against the Cubs on Thursday.

Advice: Diaz’ RBI single was the difference in the 3-2 Rays win. The defending batting champion in the American League is heating up at the plate. He’s now 17-for-50 (.340) in his last 12 games to get his average up to .260 on the season.

    • Could start rehab games Tuesday
Contreras (forearm) is hoping to begin a rehab assignment around June 18, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Advice: Contreras is just five weeks into a projected 10-week timetable following surgery to repair a fractured left forearm, but Goold writes that the catcher is "eager to push the timetable for his return." He took batting practice in the cage Thursday and has been catching bullpen sessions without issue. If Contreras is indeed able to start a rehab assignment by Tuesday, he could be just a week or so away from activation. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:26 am

    • Taking full BP in cage
Contreras (forearm) will take full batting practice in the indoor batting cage Thursday, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Contreras is barely more than a month removed from surgery to repair a fractured left forearm. He was given a 10-week timetable to return following the operation but would appear to be ahead of schedule, given that he's already taking batting practice. Before being activated from the injured list, Contreras will surely need to head out on a minor-league rehab assignment, but it's uncertain when he might be cleared to join one of the Cardinals' affiliates for game action. • Timely double in loss
Gelof went 2-for-4 with an RBI double in a loss to the Padres on Wednesday.

Advice: Gelof's eighth-inning two-bagger brought home Seth Brown to extend the Athletics' lead to 4-2 at the time. The infielder now has a trio of two-hit efforts in the last seven games, but his 33.3 percent strikeout rate in that same span is emblematic of the persistent struggles that have led to his .194 average and .572 OPS across 203 plate appearances this season.
