    • Buxton has three hits, two RBI in win Thursday
Byron Buxton went 3-for-3 with a walk, a run scored, and two RBI against the Athletics on Thursday.

Advice: Buxton is now 9-for-23 (.391) with a home run and five RBI in his last six games. It’s been a good week for Buxton, who has looked like a shell of himself for most of the season. His average is up to .244 with four home runs and a .688 OPS on the year. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:47 pm

    • Throws six scoreless in no-decision
Steele did not factor into the decision in Thursday's 3-2 loss to Tampa Bay, allowing three hits and one walk while striking out five over six scoreless innings.

Advice: Steele cruised through five innings then ran into some trouble in the sixth, but he escaped a bases-loaded jam and departed with a 2-0 lead at 93 total pitches. Steele earned his third quality start in his past four outings, but he is still winless on the season after the bullpen allowed three runs. Despite the tough luck, Steele's 3.22 ERA and 1.09 WHIP through nine starts are actually lower than his ratios last season, when he finished fifth in NL Cy Young voting. He will try to earn his first win against the Giants next Tuesday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:53 pm
    • Steele tosses six scoreless in no-decision
Justin Steele threw six shutout innings and got a no-decision against the Cubs on Thursday.

Advice: Steele gave up three hits, walked one and struck out five. He was in line for his first win of the season before the bullpen blew the lead. Steele lowered his ERA to 3.22 with the effort. After missing all of April due to injury, he’s now completed at least five innings and had at least five strikeouts in six consecutive starts. Steele finished fifth in the National League Cy Young award voting last year and appears to have regained that form this year. The 28-year-old left-hander is set to face the Giants at home next week.

    • Likely back Friday
Seager (hamstring) was scratched from Thursday's lineup as a precaution, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Manager Bruce Bochy disclosed that Seager experienced tightness in his hamstring while warming up for Thursday's game, and it's not a surprise the club played it safe after the shortstop recently missed four games due to a hamstring issue. Bochy also noted that Seager is likely to be back in the lineup Friday against the Mariners. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:15 pm

    • Corey Seager scratched from Thursday’s lineup
Corey Seager has been scratched from the lineup for Thursday’s series finale against the Dodgers due to left hamstring tightness.

Advice: Rangers manager Bruce Bochy told reporters they’re exercising an abundance of caution after Seager experienced some left hamstring tightness during his pregame routine. The lingering issue has caused him to miss four of the previous five games. The 30-year-old fantasy superstar blasted a three-run homer on Wednesday in his return to the lineup at his old stomping ground in Los Angeles and the expectation is that he’ll be ready for Friday’s series opener against the division-rival Mariners. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:30 pm

    • Scratched from lineup
Seager was scratched from the Rangers' lineup ahead of Thursday's game against the Dodgers for undisclosed reasons, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Seager returned to the lineup Wednesday after missing four games with a hamstring issue, and it's possible he aggravated that injury while going 1-for-3 with a three-run homer and a walk. Travis Jankowski will step in as Texas' designated hitter with Josh Smith starting at shortstop. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:39 pm

    • Kodai Senga (shoulder) throws bullpen session
Kodai Senga said his bullpen session Wednesday went well. He’s expected to have two more before facing hitters.

Advice: The Mets don’t have a timetable for Senga at this point, but from the sound of things, he could begin a rehab assignment at the end of the month if he continues to progress. Senga has yet to pitch this season because of a shoulder injury. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:21 am

    • Powers offense in win
Seager went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run and a walk in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Dodgers.

Advice: Seager missed nearly a week due to left hamstring soreness, and he played in a non-defensive capacity as the designated hitter Wednesday. He delivered the biggest hit of the game, a fifth-inning blast that accounted for all of the Rangers' runs. Prior to his absence, Seager had hit safely in 17 of his previous 18 games, batting .354 and slugging .800 in that span. He's up to a .271/.362/.484 slash line with 14 homers, 33 RBI, 30 runs scored and no stolen bases through 58 contests overall. Getting Seager's bat back in the lineup is a big boost to a Texas offense that has been limited to three runs or fewer in six of 10 games in June. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:58 pm

    • Goes three innings Wednesday
Gray allowed a run on four hits and a walk while striking out three over three innings in a no-decision versus the Dodgers on Wednesday.

Advice: Gray was pitching on short rest after he made a relief appearance versus the Giants on Saturday, so it's not surprising this was a short outing for the veteran. He threw 36 of 65 pitches for strikes, and the lone run on his line was a Shohei Ohtani solo home run in the first inning. Gray is now at a 2.17 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 63:19 K:BB over 62.1 innings through 13 appearances (11 starts) this season. The right-hander should be getting back on a normal schedule moving forward, which puts him tentatively on track to make his next start in a favorable home matchup versus the Mets.
