    • Dealing with abscessed tooth
Arcia is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Giants due to an abscessed tooth, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Advice: Arcia dealt with a bout a dizziness last week and is now managing a tooth issue. The abscess is being addressed Tuesday, so the 29-year-old could rejoin the lineup within the next couple days. Rotowire.com Today, 1:51 pm

    • Orlando Arcia out Tuesday with abscessed tooth
Orlando Arica is day-to-day with an abscessed tooth.

Advice: It certainly sounds painful. Arcia is out of the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Giants and isn’t even at the ballpark for the contest due to the issue. It doesn’t sound like he’ll need a trip to the injured list, but he figures to miss at least a couple additional games this week. Rotoworld Today, 1:40 pm

    • Absent from lineup
Arcia is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Giants.

Advice: Arcia missed two games last week due to dizziness before returning to play the last four contests. He hasn't suffered any known setback, so this would appear to be a routine day of rest. Zack Short will fill in at shortstop. Rotowire.com Today, 12:12 pm

    • Orlando Arcia out of lineup Tuesday vs. Giants
Orlando Arcia is not in the lineup for Tuesday’s tilt against the Giants.

Advice: Arcia is on the bench with Zack Short playing shortstop for Atlanta. It could be a day of rest for the 29-year-old, but it’s worth pointing out that he missed time while dealing with an illness last week. There’ll be an injury update if necessary, but for now Arcia shouldn’t be in lineups for Tuesday’s contest. Rotoworld Today, 12:07 pm

    • Throws off mound
Garcia (elbow) threw a bullpen session Sunday, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Advice: The reliever will throw another bullpen session Wednesday before the next steps in his rehab program are determined. Garcia has missed just two weeks with a nerve issue in his right elbow, so it's possible he'll skip a rehab assignment and return from the 15-day injured list whenever the Blue Jays feel that he's ready. With Jordan Romano (elbow) out indefinitely, Garcia should be back in the mix for saves once he returns, perhaps even as the club's top option. Chad Green has been serving as Toronto's closer since Garcia landed on the IL but hasn't received any save chances during that stretch. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:37 am

    • Yimi Garcia threw a bullpen on Sunday
Yimi García (elbow) threw a bullpen without issue on Sunday.

Advice: Blue Jays manager John Schneider said García will do it again Wednesday before the team decides on the next steps. With Jordan Romano shutting down his throwing program again, García could return to a closer’s role for the remainder of the season (or until the trade deadline) if he responds well to the next bullpen session. • Returns from injured list
Atlanta activated Minter (hip) from the 15-day injured list Monday.

Advice: Minter has been on the shelf since late May with left hip inflammation. He made three rehab appearances at Triple-A Gwinnett, allowing two runs (one earned) with a 3:2 K:BB over three frames. Minter should immediately be thrown back into a high-leverage relief role when Atlanta begins its three-game series with the Giants on Tuesday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:09 am

    • Suffers loss Sunday
Stanek (5-2) took the loss Sunday against the Twins, allowing two runs on two hits over an inning's work.

Advice: Stanek entered in the eighth with the game tied at 3-3 after the Mariners were able to knot things up in the bottom of the seventh. He picked up a quick first out but then allowed a base knock followed by a two-run homer to Trevor Larnach, which ultimately decided the game. Sunday ended an 8.2 innings scoreless streak for Stanek, which spanned 10 games. He compiled three saves, two holds and two wins while owning an 11:1 K:BB during that period. The 32-year-old has been dependable for much of the year, owning a 3.78 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 36:11 K:BB in 33.1 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:54 am

    • Stays hot Sunday
Pasquantino went 3-for-4 with one RBI and one run scored in Sunday's 6-2 win over the Guardians.

Advice: Pasquantino has gone 11-for-27 (.407) with nine RBI across his last seven games, ending June on a high note. The first baseman's recent surge has him up to a .247/.321/.436 slash line for the year, nearly identical to his marks over 61 contests in 2023. He's added 10 home runs, 55 RBI, 39 runs scored, 21 doubles and two triples through 82 games this year, playing on a near-everyday basis between first base and designated hitter.
