• Belts second homer Thursday
Urias went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in a win over the Rangers on Thursday.

Advice: Urias made some noise near the bottom of the order, snapping a 2-2 tie via a 398-foot fifth-inning shot to left center with Dylan Moore aboard. The offseason addition had last left the park way back on April 6, and despite the timely long ball Thursday, Urias is sitting on just a .179 average and .303 OBP across his first 33 plate appearances. However, he's also carrying a .500 slugging percentage, thanks to the fact all five of his hits have gone for extra bases (three doubles, two homers). Rotowire.com 5 minutes ago

  • Swipes second bag
Clement went 1-for-1 with an RBI and a stolen base in Thursday's rain-shortened loss to the Royals.

Advice: Getting the start at third base and batting sixth, Clement did what he could with his opportunities, dropping a sacrifice bunt in the second inning before singling home the Jays' only run of the game in the fourth. The 28-year-old has a four-game RBI streak going despite sporadic playing time, and while he sports an impressive .292/.300/.479 slash line on the season with two homers, two steals, six RBI and nine runs in 51 plate appearances, Clement is one of five utility players currently on the big-league roster -- along with Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Cavan Biggio, Davis Schneider and the recently promoted Addison Barger -- who are splitting time between second base, third base and left field. Unless that logjam gets cleared a little, it will be tough for Clement or any of that cohort to provide consistent fantasy value. Rotowire.com 7 minutes ago

  • Picking up more playing time
Rosario has started at third base in three of San Diego's past four games, with Thursday's start being particularly notable since it came with the Padres facing a right-handed hurler in Colorado's Dakota Hudson.

Advice: Tyler Wade had been starting at the hot corner against right-handers in the early part of the season, so Rosario's start against a righty Thursday stood out. Wade has been pretty quiet with the bat so far, slashing .235/.350/.255 with only one extra-base hit (a double) over 61 plate appearances, though he's registered a nice 13.6 percent walk rate and gone 4-for-4 on stolen-base attempts. Rosario has been more productive with a .282/.333/.564 slash line, two homers, five doubles and five RBI over 43 plate appearances, so the Padres may be shifting to leaving him in the lineup against same-handed pitching. It's worth noting that both Wade and Rosario will likely lose playing time once Manny Machado, who is still recovering from offseason elbow surgery, is able to play the field again. • Makes start in left field
Wade was the Padres' starting left fielder in Thursday's loss against Colorado and went 1-for-3 with a walk, a run and a stolen base.

Advice: Wade got his first look in the outfield this season -- previously, all of his defensive work came at either third or second base. The veteran has played in the outfield plenty throughout his career, logging at least a handful of games there in every campaign except 2020. Wade's versatility could help him continue to start semi-regularly even as Eguy Rosario gets more reps at third base. Rosario has started at the hot corner in three of San Diego's past four contests, with Thursday's game being particularly notable since the Rockies started a right-handed pitcher. • Slugs first homer
Montero went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and a walk Thursday against the Padres.

Advice: Montero went 6-for-22 through the first six games of the Rockies' homestand, though all but one of those hits was a single. His lone extra-base knock came Thursday, which also marked the first home run of his season. Montero is batting only .233 through 82 plate appearances, but he has cut his strikeout rate to just 14.6 percent this season and has started 13 of the last 14 games. Rotowire.com Today, 7:09 am
  • Swats first homer
Nevin went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Thursday in a 3-1 victory versus the Yankees.

Advice: Nevin's two-run blast off Nestor Cortes in the third inning proved to be the game-winning hit, as neither team crossed the plate after that point. The long ball was his first this season and just his sixth through 375 big-league plate appearances. Nevin hasn't flashed much power thus far and has never stolen a base as a major leaguer, but he's at least put together a decent .286/.355/.375 slash line this season. Rotowire.com Today, 12:09 am

  • Smashes long ball in loss
Kim went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run against Colorado in a loss Thursday.

Advice: Kim's third-inning blast gave San Diego a short-lived three-run lead. The long ball was his fourth of the season and just his second extra-base hit over his past eight contests. Kim has added 17 RBI, 17 runs, seven steals and a .238/.339/.436 slash line through 119 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:12 pm

  • Homers in win
Miranda went 2-for-4 with a home run, one RBI and one run scored in Thursday's 6-3 win over the White Sox.

Advice: Miranda hasn't been able to get on base so far since getting called up as he was hitting just .200 (7-for-35) with just one walk in 13 games before Thursday. He'll need to keep on a roll to get regular time at third base. However, Kyle Farmer is slumping even worse with a .297 OPS as the Twins struggle to find production at third base in the absence of Royce Lewis. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:19 pm
  • Orelvis Martinez continues mashing at Triple-A
Blue Jays INF prospect Orelvis Martinez launched a three-run homer on Thursday for Triple-A Buffalo.

Advice: Martinez has homered seven times in his last nine games and continues to make a compelling case to get the call to Toronto. The 22-year-old slugger is batting .325 (27-for-83) with a 1.060 OPS through 21 games so far. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:24 pm
