    • Belts big three-run blast
Contreras went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run Saturday in a 4-2 victory versus Houston.

Advice: Contreras provided the biggest hit of the game with a three-run, fourth-inning homer that broke a 1-1 tie and sent Justin Verlander to the showers. The long ball was the backstop's second in his past three games and extended his current on-base streak to 25 contests. During that stretch, Contreras is batting .347 with three homers, 17 RBI, 22 runs, two stolen bases and a 14:16 BB:K. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:46 pm
    • Dazzles in return from injured list
Rodriguez didn't factor into the decision Saturday against the Mariners, yielding just one hit and three walks over six shutout innings. He recorded seven strikeouts.

Advice: Rodriguez missed a little more than two weeks with right shoulder inflammation and made his return Saturday without going out on a rehab assignment first. He showed that he didn't need one, as he didn't give up his first and only hit on the night until there was one out in the sixth inning (and even that was just an infield single). Rodriguez was limited to just 82 pitches in his first start back, but he still managed to complete six frames because he was so efficient. The righty displayed his normal velocity and induced 13 swinging strikes on his 82 pitches. Rodriguez missed out on a win after the Orioles' bullpen struggled, but he looked as good as his fantasy managers could have hoped for. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:16 pm
    • William Contreras hits three-run blast vs. Astros
William Contreras connected on a three-run homer to help the Brewers to a 4-2 win over the Astros on Saturday.

Advice: Contreras absolutely shellacked a Justin Verlander offering to center — travelling an estimated 428 feet — to give the Brew Crew a 4-1 lead. The 26-year-old backstop has been sensational in 2024 with seven homers, 37 RBI and an OPS of .990. That’s a star level of offense even before you consider that he’s doing it as a catcher. • Mixed bag in no-decision
Castillo did not factor into the decision Saturday in Baltimore, permitting two runs on four hits and four walks over six innings. He struck out two.

Advice: The four walks were a season high and the two strikeouts were by far a season low for Castillo. He still managed a seventh straight quality start, keeping his team in it before the Mariners' offense rallied late. It marks the first no-decision of the season for Castillo, who is just 4-5 despite a 3.28 ERA, including a 2.01 mark across his last seven outings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:55 pm
    • Luis Castillo posts quality start in no-decision
Luis Castillo posted a quality start in a no-decision against the Orioles on Saturday, allowing just two runs on four hits across his six innings of work.

Advice: The right-hander also issued four free passes on the day while recording only two strikeouts. The damage done against him came early in this one, as Austin Hays swatted a sacrifice fly in the second inning and Ryan O’Hearn added a run-scoring single in the third. Castillo generated only five swings and misses on 89 pitches on the night, posting an underwhelming CSW of 21 percent. He’ll attempt to get back in the win column as he carries a 3.28 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and a 66/15 K/BB ratio (60 1/3 innings) into Thursday’s matchup against the Yankees in New York. • Grayson Rodriguez strikes out seven in no-decision
Grayson Rodriguez was outstanding in his return from the injured list on Saturday, racking up seven strikeouts over six innings of shutout baseball in a tough-luck no-decision against the Mariners.

Advice: The right-hander allowed just one hit and three walks on the night. That one hit didn’t come until Julio Rodriguez reached on a one-out infield single in the sixth inning. The 24-year-old hurler got 13 swings and misses on 82 pitches on the night — six of those on his slider — while registering a CSW of 28 percent. He exited the game with a 2-0 lead and in line for his fifth victory of the season, but the O’s bullpen would blow that lead the following inning. Rodriguez will carry an impressive 3.15 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and a 44/15 K/BB ratio (40 innings) into Thursday’s matchup against the White Sox in Chicago. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:50 pm
    • Goes yard twice against ChiSox
Soto went 4-for-4 with a walk, two home runs and three RBI in Saturday's 6-1 win over the White Sox.

Advice: The 25-year-old had his best game yet as a Yankee, taking Brad Keller deep in the first and fifth innings. It was Soto's first multi-hit performance, and first long balls, since May 8, and through 47 games on the season he carries a .317/.414/.561 slash line with 11 homers, four steals, 32 runs and 37 RBI. • Juan Soto homers twice, Yankees crush White Sox
Juan Soto went 4-for-4 with two homers and three RBI to power the Yankees to a 6-1 win over the White Sox on Saturday.

Advice: Soto blasted a solo homer in the first inning to put the Yankees on the board, his 10th of the season. He drove in another run with a single in the second, then went yard once again to lead off the fifth. A base hit in the eighth would make it a perfect day at the plate. It was the first multi-homer game for Soto as a member of the Yankees. The 25-year-old star outfielder is slashing .317/.414/.561 with 11 homers, 32 runs scored, 37 RBI, and four steals across 215 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:45 pm

    • Steven Kwan (hamstring) takes BP on Friday
Steven Kwan (hamstring) took batting practice on Friday.

Advice: Kwan has resumed baseball activities and is progressing well, according to Guardians manager Stephen Vogt. The 26-year-old contact-oriented outfielder remains without a firm return timetable, but it sounds like he could return to Cleveland’s lineup before the end of the month following a minor league rehab assignment.
