    Kevin Pillar homered and drove in three runs in a 10-5 loss to the Cardinals on Monday.

    Advice: Pillar took Matthew Liberatore deep for a two-run shot. The 35-year-old veteran has gone deep four times in 2024 in just 25 games, and three of them have come in eight games since joining the Halos.   • Enters for injured starter
    Benson went 0-for-4 with a walk in Sunday's 6-5 extra-inning loss to San Francisco.

    Advice: As has been customary of late, Benson found himself on the bench to start the game against a lefty, but he was needed when TJ Friedl was removed in the second inning with a thumb injury.     Siani went 2-for-4 with a double, one RBI, a stolen base and one run scored in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Brewers.

    Advice: Siani has slipped into a part-time role since Dylan Carlson returned from a shoulder injury. It appears to have lit a spark in Siani's game -- he's 10-for-21 (.476) over nine games in May. The outfielder is at a .250/.318/.300 slash line with three steals, two RBI, 12 runs scored, one double and one triple through 71 plate appearances this season. The 24-year-old's defense is his best attribute, but none of the Cardinals' outfielders have hit particularly well, so he could gain more playing time if his bat stays warm.     Goldschmidt went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in Sunday's win over the Brewers.

    Advice: Goldschmidt needed Sunday's performance in a big way; he entered the contest riding a 1-for-32 skid. He finally snapped out of it with a solo homer in the fifth inning, followed by a game-tying RBI single in the sixth. However, he also struck out twice, giving him an uncharacteristic 2:15 BB:K over his last eight games.     Helsley struck out two batters in a perfect inning and earned a save over Milwaukee on Sunday.

    Advice: Helsley needed only 12 pitches (10 strikes) to quickly close out the 4-3 victory. Since blowing a save in his season debut, he's converted 12 consecutive chances.     Paul Goldschmidt snapped his skid with a solo homer and an RBI single as the Cardinals edged the Brewers 4-3 on Sunday.

He did strike out twice more today, and his current 32% K rate is one reason to think he won’t be bouncing all of the way back from this hideous start. Still, things have to get better from here.     Advice: Pillar led off the bottom of the second with a triple before coming around to score on a three-run shot from Jo Adell as the Angels took a 3-1 lead. The recently acquired outfielder added two RBI singles on the night in addition to swiping his third bag of the season.
