    • Cal Quantrill takes first loss since April 27
Cal Quantrill allowed four runs over 4 1/3 innings on Saturday in a loss to the Dodgers.

Advice: Quantrill was saddled with his first loss since April 27 when Los Angeles got to him for nine hits during Saturday’s showdown at Dodger Stadium. He finished with only one strikeout and handed out a pair of free passes. The 29-year-old righty has unexpectedly excelled in his Rockies debut this season, but isn’t exactly a relevant fantasy option due to his lack of significant strikeout upside. There’s some streaming appeal away from Coors Field in deeper mixed leagues as he holds a respectable 3.84 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 50/25 K/BB ratio across 68 innings (12 starts). He’s been a nice find for Colorado’s front office. He’ll square off against the Cardinals on Thursday at Busch Stadium in his next outing. Rotoworld 16 minutes ago
    • Cody Poteet collects win Saturday against Giants
Cody Poteet was charged with three runs (two earned) on Saturday in a win over the Giants.

Advice: Poteet struck out six and only issued one walk. He gave up only three hits as a two-run homer by Casey Schmitt and a run-scoring single from Brett Wisely accounted for all of the damage against him. The 29-year-old righty has pitched well in a pair of spot starts for New York and figures to remain in the big leagues for the next few weeks until Gerrit Cole (elbow) is ready to make his season debut. Despite his encouraging early results, he’s not a recommended fantasy option when he faces the Dodgers’ star-studded lineup on Friday in his next outing. Rotoworld 37 minutes ago

    • Falls to Dodgers
Quantrill (4-4) allowed four runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out one over 4.1 innings, taking the loss Saturday versus the Dodgers.

Advice: Quantrill had logged five straight quality starts, but this was always going to be a tough matchup, even away from Coors Field. The Dodgers got to him for two runs in the second inning and never looked back. Quantrill has still put together a respectable first season with the Rockies, posting a 3.84 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 50:25 K:BB over 68 innings across 12 starts. His 3.3 BB/9 is still a holdover concern from last year, and he'll never be one to strike out a lot of batters, but he's generally been reliable. Quantrill's next start is projected to be at St. Louis. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:26 pm
    • Cruises to victory Saturday
Miller (5-5) earned the win over the Angels on Saturday, allowing three hits and issuing one walk while striking out nine batters over six innings.

Advice: The score was close early on, but a four-run fourth inning for Seattle put Miller on cruise control. The right-hander racked up 13 whiffs en route to his nine punchouts, which tied his second-highest total of the season. Miller has earned the win in each of his last two starts following a stretch of six outings between April 24 and May 22 during which he went 0-4. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:38 pm
    • Grabs win Saturday
Poteet (2-0) allowed three runs (two earned) on three hits and a walk while striking out six over five innings to earn the win over the Giants on Saturday.

Advice: Poteet's previous appearance this season came as the 27th man in a doubleheader before he was returned to the minors. He dealt with a finger blister before he was called up, but he was sharp Saturday, throwing 47 of 78 pitches for strikes. Poteet is an option to replace Clarke Schmidt (lat) in the rotation moving forward, and this start likely bodes well for Poteet sticking in a starting role. He's tentatively projected for a tougher home start versus the Dodgers next week. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:19 pm

    • Miller strikes out nine in win Saturday
Bryce Miller threw six shutout innings and picked up the win in the Mariners’ 9-0 victory over the Angels on Saturday.

Advice: The win was Miller’s fifth of the season. He gave up three hits, walked one and struck out nine. Miller’s ERA is now 3.18 on the season. After losing three straight decisions, he’s now won his last two starts. The 25-year-old right-hander is set to face the Royals on the road next week. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:25 pm
    • Willy Adames singles home game-winner in extras
Willy Adames drove in three runs including the game-winner in the 10th to give the Brewers a 4-3 win over the White Sox on Saturday.

Advice: Adames had three hits in the contest, and the biggest was a game-winning infield single off Michael Kopech in the bottom of the 10th. Adames has been an RBI machine throughout the year, and is already up to 42 on the season. He’s also added nine homers and eight steals, so it’s fair to say Adames has been more fantasy helper than hurter so far in 2024. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:18 pm

    • Joe Musgrove lands on IL with elbow inflammation
Padres placed RHP Joe Musgrove on the 15-day injured list with right elbow inflammation.

Advice: Musgrove lasted just two starts before an elbow issue winds up sending him back on the shelf. Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune reported that Musgrove is dealing with a recurring triceps/elbow issue, which “is not believed at this time to be a season-ending injury.” The fact that the term season-ending is even being brought up here isn’t an encouraging sign. It certainly doesn’t sound great and fantasy managers should anticipate Musgrove returning anytime soon. There should be some clarity on his status in the coming days once he undergoes some additional imaging to determine whether he’s dealing with any structural damage. Stay tuned. • Elbow issues return
The Padres placed Musgrove on the 15-day injured list Saturday with right elbow inflammation, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Advice: Musgrove was originally slated to start Saturday against the Royals, but he will now return to the injured list after experiencing further issues with his right elbow/triceps. The 31-year-old was able to return from the IL after 16 days following his first encounter with elbow problems in May, but the Padres will likely bring him back slower this time around to ensure his elbow is back to 100 percent the next time he takes the mound. Randy Vasquez was recalled from Triple-A to start in Musgrove's place Saturday and will likely remain in the Padres' rotation until Musgrove is able to return. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:39 am
