    • Johan Duran secures victory against Athletics
      Jhoan Duran picked up his second victory of the season on Friday evening, working two scoreless innings against the Athletics.

      Advice: Duran came on to work the top half of the ninth inning in a tied game and kept the A’s off the board. He then returned for the 10th inning and retired the side in order, setting the stage for Max Kepler’s heroics. On the season, he now boasts a 3.66 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and a 17/8 K/BB ratio (19 2/3 innings) to go along with a pair of victories and 10 saves in 10 opportunities. Rotoworld Friday, 8:44 pm

    • Belts fourth homer
      Riley went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, two runs scored and three RBI in Friday's win over Tampa Bay.

      Advice: Riley hit an RBI double in the first inning before hammering a two-run homer in the second. It was just his fourth homer of the year and first since May 3, snapping a 23-game drought. During that homerless streak, he posted a brutal .462 OPS. Riley is now slashing .230/.296/.357 with 17 extra-base hits and 23 RBI through 54 games. Rotowire.com Friday, 8:18 pm
       
    • Austin Riley wakes up with three hits, homer
      Austin Riley went 3-for-4 with a home run, double, three RBI, and two runs scored against the Rays on Friday.

      Advice: Finally, some signs of life from Riley. His home run was hammered 107.3 MPH and soared 422 feet. All three of his batted balls were hit at least 104 MPH and this feels like it could be the end of Riley’s prolonged cold start this season. Rotoworld Friday, 7:04 pm

      Gore (6-5) earned the win Friday over the Marlins, allowing one run on five hits and a walk over seven innings. He struck out 10.

      Advice: Gore was excellent Friday, holding Miami to a lone second-inning run en route to his fourth win in his last five starts. It's the third double-digit strikeout outing for Gore this year as he lowered his ERA to 3.24 with a 1.32 WHIP and 91:23 K:BB through 14 starts (75 innings) this season.     • MacKenzie Gore strikes out 10 in seven innings
      MacKenzie Gore struck out 10 Marlins across seven innings in an 8-1 win on Friday night. He allowed just one earned run and walked one batter. He earned the win.

      Advice: Gore was downright dazzling in this one. He challenged the Marlins again and again with his fastball high in the zone and they swung and missed at it 12 times in 35 tries. His heater is special sitting 96 MPH from the left side with tons of ride. He’s put an emphasis on throwing it up in the zone this season and that has helped him reach new heights. This was his third start so far with double-digit punch outs and he’s allowed more than three earned runs just once. His breakout is indisputable at this point. Rotoworld Friday, 6:13 pm
       
    • Gerrit Cole strikes out 10 in final rehab start
      Gerrit Cole delivered a dominant performance in his final minor league rehab start at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Friday night, racking up 10 strikeouts over his 4 1/3 innings of work.

      Advice: Cole surrendered just an unearned run on two hits on the night and didn’t walk a batter. He threw 70 pitches — 46 of them for strikes. The Yankees plan to meet in the next day or two to discuss Cole’s status, but it would be shocking at this point if his next start didn’t come in pinstripes. Rotoworld Friday, 5:27 pm
       
    • Clayton Kershaw to make rehab start on Wednesday
      Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) will make his first minor league rehab start at Single-A Rancho Cucamonga on Wednesday.

      Advice: Kershaw made it through another simulated game without issue on Thursday, so this was seemingly the most obvious next step for him. The 36-year-old hurler is going to need several outings there to build up his stamina and is expected to be ready to join the Dodgers’ rotation at some point around the All-Star break.     • Cole (elbow) set for Triple-A rehab start
      Gerrit Cole (elbow) will make a rehab start with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Friday.

      Advice: Cole is getting closer to returning to the big leagues. Depending on how things go for him on Friday, he may be ready to make his next start in the major leagues. That would be a huge boon for the Yankees and fantasy managers. Rotoworld Friday, 12:41 pm
       
    • Next step could be rehab stint
      Kershaw (shoulder) completed three simulated innings at Dodger Stadium on Thursday, and he could be ready to pitch in rehab games with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga, per MLB.com.

      Advice: Kershaw's fastball hit 88-89 mph in the sim game, per Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times, which is in the range of his usual velocity over the past three seasons. Manager Dave Roberts proclaimed the future Hall of Famer to be "much further" along in his recovery than initially expected. Kershaw will almost certainly need to log multiple rehab starts, and the Dodgers are very unlikely to rush him back, but the southpaw could be ready to make his season debut sometime in July.
