    • Used in eighth frame again Saturday
Phillips (2-0) was charged with a blown save and earned the win against Milwaukee on Saturday. He allowed one run on one hit while striking out one batter over one inning.

Advice: With the Dodgers up 3-2 in the top of the eighth frame, manager Dave Roberts elected to call upon Phillips to face the heart of the Brewers order. The right-hander couldn't protect the lead, giving up a one-out solo homer to Christian Yelich. Phillips did get credited for the win, however, as a result of Los Angeles tallying two runs in the bottom of the frame and Alex Vesia closing things out in the ninth. This was the second time in the past two weeks that Roberts has called upon Phillips before the ninth inning in a high-leverage situation, so it's clear that the team is comfortable using him in that way. Phillips should still get the vast majority of save chances for the Dodgers, though Vesia has five saves on the campaign and is probably the leading candidate for ninth-inning duties when Phillips is either unavailable or deployed earlier in a contest. • Folds early against Cards
Gore came away with a no-decision in Saturday's 14-6 win over St. Louis, coughing up five runs on six hits and five walks over 3.1 innings. He struck out five.

Advice: The southpaw has shown improved control and command overall in 2024, but Gore couldn't find the plate Saturday and needed 90 pitches (52 strikes) to record 10 outs, failing to take advantage of a huge offensive outburst by the Nats. He's failed to complete six innings in four straight outings and six of seven since the beginning of June, stumbling to a 5.35 ERA, 1.70 WHIP and 40:17 K:BB through 35.1 innings over that stretch. Gore will try to get back on track in his next start, which lines up to come on the road next week against the Mets. Rotowire.com Today, 6:25 am
    • Delivers run in win
Lowe went 1-for-4 with an RBI in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Rays.

Advice: Lowe singled in a run in the third inning to give the Rangers a 2-0 lead. The first baseman has started to make an impact after a so-so start. Lowe, who has 35 RBI in 68 games overall, has driven in 14 runs over the last 10 contests. He has four home runs and a line of .350/.366/.675 during that stretch. The surge in production could be why manager Bruce Bochy moved him up to third in the order to replace the injured Josh Smith (hamstring). Rotowire.com Today, 6:22 am

    • Belts game-winning homer
Semien went 1-for-3 with a walk, a two-run home run and a second run scored in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Rays.

Advice: With the Rangers down 3-2 in the bottom of the seventh inning, Semien got hold of a Kevin Kelly two-seamer on the inner half of the plate and drove it over the left-field wall for the game-winning hit. The second baseman snapped a 22-game homer drought with the blast, a stretch in which he'd stumbled to a .143/.196/.176 slash line. Semien's current .679 OPS on the season would be his lowest mark since the COVID-shortened 2020 campaign, but he's still on pace for his fourth straight campaign with at least 20 home runs and 80 RBI, and the 33-year-old has plenty of time to kick his offense into a higher gear. • Settles for quality start Saturday
Bradley came away with a no-decision in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Rangers, giving up two runs (one earned) on five hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out five.

Advice: The right-hander was still the pitcher of record when the Rays took the lead in the top of the seventh, putting Bradley in line for his fourth win of the year, but Kevin Kelly blew the save in the bottom of the frame. The quality start was Bradley third in his last five trips to the mound, a stretch in which he's posted a 1.29 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 45:13 K:BB through 35 innings. The 23-year-old right-hander will look to keep rolling in his next start, which is scheduled to come at home next weekend against the Guardians. Rotowire.com Today, 5:51 am
    • Let down by bullpen in superb start
Greene pitched seven scoreless innings in a no-decision against Detroit on Saturday. He allowed three hits and issued two walks while striking out seven batters.

Advice: Greene was on his game Saturday, racking up 15 swinging strikes while holding the Tigers without an extra-base hit. He departed with a 2-0 lead but had to settle for a no-decision as a result of the Reds' bullpen allowing five runs in the eighth frame. Though he wasn't able to nab the win, Greene collected his seventh quality start of the season and lowered his ERA to 3.45. The seven punchouts gives him 116 on the campaign, tied for 11th-most in the majors. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:00 pm
    • Homers in blowout loss
Mountcastle went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Saturday's 19-8 loss to the Athletics.

Advice: Mountcastle was one of six Orioles to produce multiple hits, but they couldn't keep up with a barrage of hits from the Athletics. The long ball ended a 23-game homer drought for Mountcastle, who now has 12 homers on the year. He's slashing .271/.313/.459 with 42 RBI, 44 runs scored, 21 doubles and two stolen bases across 81 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:29 pm
    • Short start versus Marlins
Crochet allowed two runs on five hits and three walks while striking out five over four innings in a no-decision versus the Marlins.

Advice: Crochet failed to complete five innings for the first time since April 24. He wasn't efficient Saturday, requiring 93 pitches (65 strikes) to get through his four frames, though he did a decent job of limiting the damage. It's a rare misstep for the southpaw, who is now at a 3.08 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 146:23 K:BB over 105.1 innings through 19 starts this season. Crochet is projected to make his next start at home versus the Pirates. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:58 pm

    • Hits first career homer in win
Lee went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 9-3 win over the Astros.

Advice: Lee took Hunter Brown deep in the third inning for his first career major-league home run. The 23-year-old has hit the ground running with the Twins, going 7-for-15 with a home run and six RBI over his first four games. While it is unclear exactly how much time Royce Lewis (groin) will miss, the rookie has made the most of his time in the big-leagues so far. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:13 pm
