• Homer, two hits in loss
Pham went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a 2-1 loss to the Tigers on Friday.

Advice: Pham singled in the third then hit a solo home run off Jack Flaherty in the fifth. Pham had been relatively quiet since returning from the injured list June 14, going 5-for-20 in five games prior to Friday. The home run was his first since May 22, but Pham still owns a solid .282/.353/.410 slash with four home runs, 14 RBI and 23 runs scored over 172 plate appearances this season. • Josh Lowe smacks two homers
Josh Lowe went 3-for-5 with two home runs and four RBI in a 10-3 win for the Rays over the Pirates.

Advice: Lowe took righty Luis Ortiz deep twice and vaulted the Rays to a victory in Pittsburgh. Injuries have stalled what was hoped to be a big breakout season for the young left-hander as he only just reached 100 plate appearances after this game. There’s plenty of time for his ugly slash line to improve and his 16.4% Barrel Rate is by far the best mark he’s ever shown. Rotoworld Today, 6:32 pm

  • Bryan Reynolds homers in loss
Bryan Reynolds went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk on Friday against the Rays.

Advice: The home run was Reynolds’ 11th of the season and landed all the way in the Allegheny River beyond the concourse in right-center field. The homer also extended his hitting streak to 18 games. He’s become one of the most dependable yet unspectacular outfield bats in baseball. Rotoworld Today, 6:31 pm

  • Tommy Pham goes deep as White Sox fall to Tigers
Tommy Pham clubbed his fourth home run of the season on Friday night, accounting for the White Sox’ lone run in a loss to the Tigers.

Advice: Pham turned on a first-pitch changeup from Jack Flaherty in the fifth inning and tucked a 370-foot (112.4 mph EV) solo shot just inside the foul pole in left field to get the White Sox on the board and trim their deficit to 2-1. That would be the extent of the scoring in the ballgame. The 36-year-old outfielder finished the night 2-for-4 and is now hitting .282/.353/.410 to go with four long balls and 14 RBI. • Not starting Friday
Perkins is not in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Padres.

Advice: Perkins has struggled over his last 10 games, going 4-for-31 with a 34.3 percent strikeout rate, and he has not recorded a hit over his last four games. Sal Frelick, Jackson Chourio and Christian Yelich will man the outfield Friday while Tyler Black serves as the designated hitter against Padres right-hander Dylan Cease. Rotowire.com Today, 4:17 pm
  • Contract selected by Colorado
The Rockies selected the contract of Hilliard from Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday.

Advice: The move comes with Charlie Blackmon landing on the 10-day IL due to a right hamstring strain. Over 65 games in Triple-A this season, Hilliard is slashing .288/.374/.542 with 14 home runs and 44 RBI over 305 plate appearances. He appeared in 40 major-league games with Atlanta in 2023, slashing .236/.295/.431 with three home runs and six RBI over 78 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 3:48 pm

  • Rockies promote Sam Hilliard from Triple-A
Rockies selected the contract of OF Sam Hilliard from Triple-A Albuquerque.

Advice: With Charlie Blackmon (hamstring) hitting the injured list on Friday, Hilliard will have another opportunity to show what he can do at the big-league level. The 30-year-old outfielder has hit .288/.374/.542 with 14 homers, 44 RBI, 13 stolen bases and a 77/38 K/BB ratio over 305 plate appearances at Triple-A Albuquerque this season. He’s got the tools to be an intriguing fantasy option if he finds his way into regular at-bats. Rotoworld Today, 3:15 pm

  • Idle against lefty
Heyward is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Angels.

Advice: Heyward will take a seat for the second consecutive night as the Angels trot out southpaw Patrick Sandoval for the series opener. Miguel Vargas, Andy Pages and Teoscar Hernandez fill the outfield from left to right. Rotowire.com Today, 3:15 pm

  • Homers, stays hot in win
Nimmo went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and three runs scored in Friday's 11-1 win over the Cubs.

Advice: Nimmo was active early, walking and scoring a run in the first inning and hitting a two-run home run in the second. He then singled and scored again in the fourth frame. Since moving to second in the lineup June 13, Nimmo has five multi-hit games, three home runs, 10 RBI and 12 runs scored. On the season, he is now slashing .244/.359/.424 with 10 homers, 42 RBI and 45 runs scored through 309 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 3:14 pm
