    • Collects two more hits Saturday
Meadows went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Reds. He was also caught stealing.

Advice: In two games since getting recalled from Triple-A Toledo, Meadows has gone 3-for-8 with a double and a home run. It's a very small sample, but it's still a positive sign for the 24-year-old, who struggled mightily before getting sent down in May. Meadows was seeing some time atop the order earlier in the year, though he batted eighth Saturday and will likely need to string together a few more good games before he possibly moves up in the lineup. • Done with rehab assignment
Nootbaar (oblique) said Saturday that he has finished his rehab assignment with Double-A Springfield and is heading to St. Louis, Rob Rains of StLSportsPage.com reports.

Advice: Nootbaar spoke to Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol on Saturday, and though his rehab assignment is now completed, it's unclear if the outfielder will be reinstated from the 10-day injured list before the big club's series in Washington comes to an end Monday. After Monday's contest, the Cardinals will return to St. Louis to kick off a five-game homestand that begins Tuesday versus the Royals. Rotowire.com Saturday, 8:00 pm

    • Christian Yelich crushes game-tying homer Saturday
Christian Yelich crushed a game-tying solo homer in the eighth inning on Saturday, but it wasn’t enough to lead the Brewers past the Dodgers.

Advice: Yelich clobbered an Evan Phillips sweeper for a 429-foot (108.4 mph EV) game-tying solo shot in the top half of the eighth inning. It was all for nought though as the Dodgers belted a pair of homers of their own in the bottom half of the frame to regain command. The 32-year-old All-Star outfielder finished the evening 1-for-4 and is now hitting .322/.400/.512 with 10 homers, 38 RBI and 19 stolen bases on the season. Rotoworld Saturday, 7:15 pm
    • George Springer reaches four times in victory
George Springer scored twice and reached four times against the Mariners on Saturday.

Advice: Springer played the role of leadoff man well Saturday while picking up a couple of knocks and a pair of free passes. The outfielder has been swinging the bat far more effectively recently, but this good run still has him hitting just .221/.313/.354. It’s more than understandable to be skeptical of success for Springer — at least in a fantasy role — for the second half of 2024. Rotoworld Saturday, 4:08 pm
    • Could return to big club Sunday
Cardinals manager Oli Marmol said Saturday that he will have a postgame call with Nootbaar (oblique) to determine whether the 26-year-old is ready to return from his rehab assignment with Triple-A Springfield, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Katie Woo of The Athletic reported Friday that Nootbaar was expected to remain in Springfield over the weekend to work on his timing. In his last rehab outing Friday, Nootbaar went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, and if he and Marmol agree that more reps in the minors aren't needed, a return to the Cardinals could happen as early as Sunday in Washington. Prior to his injury, Nootbaar was slashing .234/.337/.404 with five home runs and 19 RBI across 164 major-league plate appearances. Rotowire.com Saturday, 12:09 pm

    • Out of lineup vs. southpaw Saturday
Conforto is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against Cleveland.

Advice: Conforto will avoid Guardians southpaw Logan Allen for Saturday's contest, with Austin Slater starting in left field and batting second. In Friday's series opener, Conforto went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI in the 4-2 win. Rotowire.com Saturday, 11:07 am
    • Sitting Saturday
Kjerstad isn't in the Orioles' lineup for Saturday's game versus Oakland.

Advice: Kjerstad will get another day to rest Saturday after also sitting down Friday versus a left-handed starter. Austin Hays will draw another start in left field while Kjerstad sits. Rotowire.com Saturday, 10:41 am
    • Taking seat Saturday
McKinstry isn't in the Tigers' lineup for Saturday's game versus Cincinnati.

Advice: McKinstry has failed to record a base hit in 14 at-bats over his last five contests, and he'll now sit down for the second game in a row Saturday. Ryan Kreidler will start instead at shortstop and bat ninth. Rotowire.com Saturday, 10:31 am

    • Swipes bag Friday
Burleson went 1-for-5 with a walk and a stolen base in Friday's 7-6 extra-innings win over the Nationals.

Advice: Burleson is heating up again, going 7-for-21 (.333) over his last five games. The steal was his first since June 23, and he's offered decent speed for a player best known for his power. The 25-year-old is slashing .281/.317/.459 with 13 home runs, six steals, 42 RBI, 34 runs scored and 11 doubles over 301 plate appearances this year. Rotowire.com Saturday, 10:18 am
