    • Jake Cronenworth delivers walkoff homer for Padres
Jake Cronenworth hit a walkoff homer off Joel Payamps as the Padres edged the Brewers 7-6 on Thursday.

Advice: Payamps couldn’t possibly have made a worse 3-2 pitch, and Cronenworth deposited the breaking ball 355 feet down the right field line for his 11th homer of the year. That’s one more in 74 games this season than he had in 127 games last year Cronenworth had been in a little 2-for-24 slump since his previous homer on June 11. Rotoworld 7 minutes ago

    • Notches second save in as many days
Hader earned a save against the Astros on Thursday, striking out two batters in one perfect inning.

Advice: Hader threw 12 of 14 pitches for strikes, including eight whiffs. The save was his second in as many days, marking the second time this season he's accomplished that feat. Despite a middling 3.74 ERA, Hader has been effective this season, converting 11 of 12 save chances and posting a 52:10 K:BB over 33.2 innings. Rotowire.com 45 minutes ago

    • Earns eighth win
Allen (8-3) earned the win Thursday against the Mariners, allowing three runs on four hits and four walks across six innings. He struck out two.

Advice: Allen did not start off well, allowing a leadoff single to JP Crawford followed by a homer to Dylan Moore but allowed just one more run the rest of the way to earn his eighth win and complete his fifth quality start of the season. Allen, who also hit a batter on the day, continues to struggle with missing bats, having struck out just eight batters over the last three starts spanning 17 innings after having struck out 51 across 58.2 innings during his first 12 outings. Despite the dearth of strikeouts during this most recent stretch, Allen's ERA stands at 3.17 over the last three games as opposed to 5.83 during the 12 games prior. Things will not get easier for his next start as he's currently scheduled to take on the Orioles in Baltimore. Rotowire.com Today, 4:46 pm
    • Struggles through five
Gore (6-6) suffered the loss Thursday, allowing four runs on 10 hits and two walks in five innings against the Diamondbacks. He struck out seven.

Advice: Gore was unable to match his opponent's efficiency on the mound, allowing 12 baserunners and needing 103 pitches to complete five frames. The Diamondbacks meanwhile needed only 87 pitches for the entirety of the contest including just 70 in seven innings by starter Ryne Nelson. Gore was done in by a lot of dink and dunk as nine of the 10 hits he allowed were singles. It was just the second time all season Gore has allowed more than three runs and was the fifth time he's eclipsed the 100-pitch plateau. The performance raised Gore's ERA from 3.24 to 3.49 while his WHIP lifted from 1.32 to 1.39. His next opportunity to toe the rubber is set for early next week when the Nationals travel to San Diego to take on the Padres. Rotowire.com Today, 4:05 pm
    • Witt Jr. blasts 12th home run in win Thursday
Bobby Witt Jr. went 1-for-4 with a solo home run against the Athletics on Thursday.

Advice: The home run was Witt Jr.'s 12th of the year. He hit a solo shot in the eighth inning to give the Royals a 3-2 lead. One of the best players in all of fantasy, Witt Jr.'s hitting .322 with a .921 OPS with 53 RBI this year. Rotoworld Today, 3:57 pm
    • Zack Gelof homers Thursday for third straight game
Zack Gelof went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run against the Royals on Thursday.

Advice: Gelof’s home run was his eighth of the season and his third consecutive game with a home run. He’s still just hitting .202 on the season, but the power is starting to show up. Gelof hit 14 home runs in 69 games last year and could be a decent power source in the middle infield going forward. Rotoworld Today, 3:56 pm

    • Josh Hader strikes out two in save vs. White Sox
Josh Hader struck out two while firing a scoreless frame to get a save against the White Sox on Thursday.

Advice: Even with the two strikes, Hader needed just 14 pitches — 12 of those strikes — to get the save. The left-hander has now 11 in his first season as a member of the Astros, and he’s been much better than his 3.78 season ERA might indicate. Rotoworld Today, 2:04 pm

    • Logan Allen produces Quality Start against Mariners
Logan Allen gave up three runs in six innings against the Mariners on Thursday while being credited with the victory.

Advice: Allen was far from dominant, as he walked four and struck out only two. He was still able to hold the Seattle offense (mostly) in check, particularly after giving up a two-run homer to Dylan Moore in the first. The 25-year-old’s ERA is inflated by two horrible outings in May, and he’s pitched much better than the 5.23 ERA he currently carries. If the rotation stays the same, Allen will face the Orioles on Thursday. Rotoworld Today, 12:39 pm
    • MacKenzie Gore allows 10 hits in loss to D-Backs
MacKenzie Gore allowed four runs while working five innings in a loss Thursday to the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Gore did strike out seven, but he allowed 10 hits while also issuing two walks. Unsurprisingly, this left Gore with a high pitch count, as he needed 103 pitches to get through those five frames. The 25-year-old southpaw was coming off back-to-back excellent outings, but outside of the strikeouts, there weren’t many positives here. Gore is scheduled to face the Padres next week.
