• Bednar locks down 4th save of the season
David Bednar fired a scoreless ninth inning to secure the Pirates’ 2-1 win over the Brewers on Tuesday.

Advice: It was a perfect inning for Bednar, who didn’t allow a single baserunner and struck out one hitter. The right-handed was sitting 96.6 mph with his fastball and now has three scoreless performances in a row. The start of the season was rough, but Bednar has been one of the more reliable closers in baseball and should remain so this season. Rotoworld 12 minutes ago

  • Adam Duvall homers, drives in two vs. Marlins
Adam Duvall went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in the Braves’ win over the Marlins.

Advice: Duvall sent a 406-foot blast into the left field stands to score Marcell Ozuna and give the Braves a 5-0 lead. It was only Duvall’s second homer of the season, as the outfielder remains in a platoon with Jared Kelenic and has made little work of his few opportunities. Despite the strong night, Duvall can’t be counted on for fantasy production in his current role. Rotoworld 13 minutes ago

  • McCutchen has two hits, HR in win on Tuesday
Andrew McCutchen went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a win over the Brewers on Tuesday.

Advice: McCutchen had a rude awakening for Tobias Myers in his MLB debut by taking him 358 feet deep for a home run that left the bat at 105.1 mph. It was the veteran’s third home run of the season to go along with seven RBI and a .233/.324/.417 slash line. He’s not producing big results, but he plays every day for the Pirates which will give him some value in deeper formats. Rotoworld 14 minutes ago

  • Trevor Rogers allows three earned runs in loss
Trevor Rogers allowed three earned runs over 5 2/3 innings while striking out four in the Marlins’ loss to the Braves on Tuesday.

Advice: While the Braves plated five runs with Rogers on the mound, two of those runs were unearned. Still, the veteran lefty was touched up for a two-run homer in the sixth inning and allowed eight baserunners on the day. Now sporting an 0-3 record, a 4.10 ERA, and a 1.52 WHIP, Rogers will hope to earn his first win of the season in his next outing, which comes on Monday against the Nationals. • Gary Sánchez homers in loss
Gary Sánchez went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in a loss to the Pirates on Tuesday.

Advice: Sánchez got the Brewers on the board in the eighth inning with a 432-foot shot that left the bat at 113.5 mph. It was his second home run on the season, and the veteran is hitting just .167/.211/.361. Considering William Contreras rarely sits, Sánchez is not a recommended play in most fantasy leagues. • Bailey Falter carves up Brewers in win
Bailey Falter allowed just one run on three hits in seven innings in a victory over the Brewers on Tuesday.

Advice: Falter had a shutout going into the eighth inning when he allowed a solo home run to Gary Sánchez as the first batter of the inning. That would be all for Falter, who was dominant on the day with a 30 percent whiff rate and 34 percent CSW. However, there was nothing special in his pitch mix on Tuesday. He threw 71 percent four-seam fastballs and averaged just 92 mph on them but still had 13 whiffs on 34 swings. It’s hard to project that to continue going forward, but the lefty lowered his ERA to 3.33 on the season and has a slightly above-average matchup on Sunday against the Giants. • Fried twirls complete game shutout vs. Marlins
Max Fried struck out six batters while pitching a complete game shutout over the Marlins in Tuesday’s 5-0 win.

Advice: Fried was efficient from start to finish in this one. He entered the ninth inning with just 84 pitches thrown, and needed only eight pitches in the ninth to retire the side in order. It was a much-needed solid outing for the Braves’ ace, who entered the day sporting a 7.71 ERA through his first four outings. Tuesday’s complete game marked the fifth of Fried’s career, while the shutout was the fourth he has thrown. He’ll look to follow up this outing with another strong performance on Monday against the Mariners. Rotoworld 19 minutes ago

  • Braxtom Garrett to make rehab start on Friday
Braxtom Garrett (shoulder) will make a minor league rehab start on Friday for Triple-A Jacksonville.

Advice: Garrett made it through a 25-pitch bullpen session on Tuesday without any issues and is expected to throw roughly 60 pitches on Friday as he kicks off another rehab assignment. He’ll likely require a couple additional outings to continue building up his pitch count and stamina before making his season debut. Rotoworld 24 minutes ago

  • J.D. Martinez kicks off rehab assignment Tuesday
J.D. Martinez (back) went 1-for-4 with an RBI on Tuesday in a minor league rehab game for Triple-A Syracuse.

Advice: Martinez finally kicked off his rehab assignment after missing a couple weeks recovering from lower back tightness that wound up requiring a cortisone injection earlier this month to address. The 36-year-old veteran slugger will presumably need a handful of additional rehab games to get back up to speed before making his Mets debut. Barring any setbacks, there’s a chance he’s back before the end of April. Rotoworld 38 minutes ago
