• Trea Turner has three hits in win
Trea Turner went 3-for-5 with a double in a win over the Reds on Thursday.

Advice: Turner hit the ball well on Thursday, with five batted balls that were at least 96.7 mph. It continues a strong start to the season for the shortstop, who’s slashing .336/.388/.477 on the year with two home runs and six steals. As Bryce Harper continues to heat up, he should rack up far more runs scored as well. Rotoworld 21 minutes ago

  • Nico Hoerner picks up three more hits vs. Astros
Nico Hoerner went 3-for-5 against the Astros on Thursday.

Advice: Hoerner singled twice and added a double. The 26-year-old now has his average to .300 to go with a .785 OPS. This makes back-to-back multi-hit games for Hoerner, and he appears to be figuring things out after a slow start on the season. Fantasy managers sure would like to see more running from a player that stole 43 bases last year, as Horner is still stuck on one stolen base in 2024. Rotoworld 26 minutes ago

  • Josh Smith homers and doubles in loss to Mariners
Josh Smith homered and doubled in a loss to the Mariners on Thursday.

Advice: Smith picked up one of two homers the Rangers hit off of Luis Castillo, and his was a solo shot that tied the game at 2-2. The left-handed hitting infielder is off to a strong start with the bat to open 2023, as the two extra-base hits has him slashing .292/.393/.417 over 72 at-bats. Rotoworld 36 minutes ago

  • Luis Urías hits go-ahead homer as M’s top Rangers
Luis Urías hit a go-ahead two-run homer to help the Mariners to a 4-2 win over the Rangers on Thursday.

Advice: With the score tied at 2-2, Urías swatted a two-run blast off Andrew Heaney to give Seattle a 4-2 lead and ultimately the victory. It’s the second homer of the season for the 26-year-old, and he’s now posting a respectable .803 OPS. Urías should continue to get at-bats against southpaws, but Josh Rojas is going to get much more playing time at third in the strong-side of the platoon. Rotoworld 36 minutes ago

  • Julien has two hits, home run in win over CWS
Edouard Julien went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs, and two RBI in a win over the White Sox on Thursday.

Advice: The 24-year-old hasn’t had a great start to the season, but he’s playing every day and is starting to find his groove a little at the plate. Although his season slash line is just .213/.308/.513, he has seven home runs and nine RBI and is 7-for-24 over his last six games with two home runs. With the Twins as banged up as they are, he should continue to get a chance to right the ship, and his elite plate discipline and strong batted-ball quality make him a fine waiver-wire target to see if he can keep his hot stretch going. • Red Sox make Ceddanne Rafaela everyday shortstop
Red Sox manager Alex Cora confirmed Thursday that Ceddanne Rafaela is their new everyday shortstop.

Advice: There was some hesitation earlier this month from the Red Sox about potentially moving Rafaela back to shortstop in the wake of Trevor Story’s season-ending shoulder injury. However, they’ve officially made the move in part to shore up their lackluster middle infield defense and also get Wilyer Abreu’s hot bat into the lineup more often in a corner outfield spot. It’ll be Jarren Duran taking over in center field everyday until further notice. It’s a significant development for fantasy purposes as Rafaela gains middle infield eligibility, which gives him some additional appeal from a roster construction standpoint, even in shallow mixed leagues. • Nearing rehab assignment
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Thursday that Berti (groin) could begin a rehab assignment Sunday, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Berti is nearly two weeks removed from suffering a left groin strain and is almost ready to test things out in game action. The utility player shouldn't need too many rehab games before rejoining the Yanks. Rotowire.com Today, 1:11 pm

  • Jackson Merrill scratched from Thursday’s lineup
Jackson Merrill was scratched from the lineup for Thursday’s game against the Rockies due to right groin tightness.

Advice: The Padres are merely keeping Merrill out of the lineup for Thursday’s series finale for precautionary reasons. Eguy Rosario will start for the Padres on play third base, while Tyler Wade moves to left field and José Azocar goes to center field. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now.
