Advice: Santander's up to 12 homers over 24 contests in June. The power surge is impressive, though he's losing a little consistency at the plate by going just 2-for-15 over the last four games. That quiet stretch has taken some of the wind out of his sails as he looks to get his season-long numbers at a respectable level. Reaches 10-homer markCowser went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Tuesday's 10-8 loss to the Guardians.
Advice: Cowser has gone a modest 11-for-61 (.180) over 22 contests while seeing a part-time role in June. Five of his hits this month have gone for extra bases, and he's up to 10 homers on the year after Tuesday's long ball. He's slashing just .226/.317/.429 with 32 RBI, 29 runs scored and five stolen bases. Anthony Santander is about the only constant in the Orioles' outfield, leaving Cowser to compete with Cedric Mullins, Austin Hays and Heston Kjerstad for two positions on a regular basis. Advice: McCann was able to generate a run in three of his four at-bats. He had an RBI single in the second inning, a solo shot in the fourth and an RBI groundout in the seventh. The veteran catcher is 7-for-33 (.212) over 10 games in June, and he continues to see sparse playing time as backup to Adley Rutschman. For the year, McCann has a .202/.227/.325 slash line with three homers, 13 RBI, 15 runs scored, one stolen base and five doubles over 119 plate appearances. Advice: Westburg has gone 14-for-42 (.333) with seven extra-base hits and seven RBI over his last 11 contests. He's up to a .283/.337/.516 slash line with 13 homers, 16 doubles, six stolen bases, 46 RBI and 40 runs scored through 73 games this season. While he's split time between second base and third base, Westburg has hit consistently enough to carve out a near-everyday role with well-rounded production. Advice: Kwan has let his bat do the talking since he returned from a hamstring injury, going 33-for-75 (.440) over his last 19 contests. Predictably, he hasn't tried his luck much on the bases, going 1-for-2 in stolen base attempts in that span. He's now at a .385/.443/.563 slash line with seven home runs, 24 RBI, 48 runs scored and four steals over 51 contests, and it's safe to assume his speed will remain down given his history of hamstring issues. Drives in three in winArias went 3-for-4 with a double, three RBI and one run scored in Tuesday's 10-8 win over the Orioles.
Advice: Arias has been in the lineup for the last two games since he returned from the family medical emergency list. The utility man provided a two-run double in the second inning and an RBI single in the eighth as one of four Guardians to log multiple hits in the contest. Arias is slashing .231/.262/.358 with two home runs, 14 RBI, 14 runs scored and four stolen bases on six attempts over 141 plate appearances this season. Grabs win TuesdayAvila (2-1) walked three batters over 2.1 scoreless and hitless innings to earn the win over the Orioles on Tuesday.
Advice: While it wasn't conventionally a strong outing, it got the job done for the Guardians after starter Logan Allen was limited to three innings. Avila is riding a 17.2-inning scoreless streak, during which he has an 18:9 K:BB and one save from a three-inning appearance versus the Marlins on June 8. Swipes two bagsLowe went 1-for-4 with a walk, a run scored and two stolen bases Tuesday against Seattle.
Advice: Lowe has started to heat up at the plate, as he's gone 11-for-30 with three homers, seven RBI and six runs scored across his last eight games. He's also shown a desire to steal bases, swiping three bags across his last three starts. Advice: Abrams has rattled off three hits in four of his last five games, and he's added three steals, three RBI and eight runs scored in that span. The shortstop's sizzling stretch has him up to a .283/.335/.507 slash line through 71 contests. His .842 OPS is his highest mark since May 12. Abrams has done a little of everything this year, adding 12 home runs, 40 RBI, 48 runs scored, 13 steals, 19 doubles and five triples. Rotowire.com
