    • X-rays come back clean
Ginkel's (leg) X-rays came back negative and can be considered day-to-day, Jesse Friedman of GoPHNX.com reports Saturday.

Advice: Ginkel took a hard-hit comebacker to his left leg during Saturday's game against the Mets and was immediately removed from the contest. However, he seems to have avoided significant injury and manager Torey Lovullo expressed optimism that Ginkel could be ready as soon as Sunday. Ginkel owns a 4.09 ERA across 22.0 innings this season. Advice: Marsh has now dropped back-to-back starts, allowing five runs in each, after posting a 1.71 ERA in his previous five outings (26.1 innings). Overall, his ERA is up to 3.76 on the season with a 1.15 WHIP and 46:17 K:BB across 55 innings. • Grabs first win
Vasquez (1-3) earned the win Saturday over the Royals, allowing three runs on four hits and a walk over five innings. He struck out five.

Advice: After allowing a two-run homer to Vinnie Pasquantino in the first inning, Vasquez ultimately settled in and held the Royals to one run over his final four frames to earn the win. It's the first win in six starts for Vasquez this season, who was recalled for a spot start after Joe Musgrove (elbow) was scratched. Overall, the 25-year-old Vasquez sports a 5.74 ERA with a 1.61 WHIP and 18:5 K:BB across 26.2 innings with the Padres this year. He could be in for an extended stay in the rotation with Musgrove joining Yu Darvish (groin) on the IL. Vasquez would currently line up for a home matchup with the Diamondbacks next week. • Sean Manaea surrenders six runs in loss
Sean Manaea surrendered six runs -- five earned -- with ten strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings in a loss to the Diamondbacks on Saturday.

Advice: After two scoreless frames, Manaea loaded the bases with a base hit and two walks in the third. Christian Walker would clear them all with a grand slam to put the Diamondbacks ahead. A double and a base hit in the sixth would drive in a run and knock Manaea from the game with two outs at 105 pitches. He struck out a season-high ten batters. The 32-year-old left-hander will take a 3.63 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and a 57/24 K/BB ratio across 57 innings into a start against the Phillies in New York next Saturday. Rotoworld Today, 4:26 pm

    • Emmanuel Clase locks down 18th save
Emmanuel Clase tossed a perfect ninth inning to earn the save against the Nationals on Saturday.

Advice: Clase was summoned in the ninth inning to close it out with a one-run lead over the Nationals. He slammed the door quickly, needing only eight pitches to secure the win and lock down his 18th save of the season. The 26-year-old right-hander has allowed just one run with a 29/2 K/BB ratio across 29 1/3 innings. Rotoworld Today, 3:47 pm
    • Ben Lively earns fifth win Saturday vs. Nats
Ben Lively allowed two runs with four strikeouts across 5 2/3 innings in a win over the Nationals on Saturday.

Advice: Lively worked through three scoreless inning before the Nationals brought two runs in to score in the fourth. After walking a batter with one out, Tyler Freeman misplayed a routine fly ball to put runners on second and third with one out instead of two outs and a runner on first. A groundout and a base hit would bring the two runs in to score. Lively would work a clean fifth and gave up a base hit with two outs in the sixth. That would end his day at 86 pitches -- 62 for strikes. He struck out four. The 32-year-old right-hander will take a 2.84 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, and a 47/15 K/BB ratio across 50 2/3 innings into a start against the Marlins in Miami on Friday. Rotoworld Today, 3:46 pm

    • Cooper Criswell holds Detroit to one run in win
Cooper Criswell allowed one run with five strikeouts over five innings in a win over the Tigers on Saturday.

Advice: A double and a base hit in the first inning put the Tigers on the board with one run. Criswell would settle in to give the Red Sox four more scoreless frames, scattering two more hits and a walk while striking out five batters. The 27-year-old right-hander ends the day with a 3.92 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, and a 41/10 K/BB ratio across 43 2/3 innings. He’s in line for a start against the White Sox on Friday. Rotoworld Today, 3:38 pm

    • Struck by comebacker
Ginkel was hit in the left leg by a comebacker during Saturday's game against the Mets and was removed from the game, Jesse Friedman of GoPHNX.com reports. He threw one perfect inning before the incident.

Advice: Ginkel was the first arm out of the bullpen for the Diamondbacks on Saturday, replacing Slade Cecconi late in the fifth inning. The 30-year-old retired the first two batters he faced before getting hit by a 98 MPH comebacker from Brandon Nimmo, who was still thrown out at first. Bryce Jarvis replaced Ginkel on the mound. • Trevor Megill (elbow) returns to action Saturday
Trevor Megill (elbow) returned to action on Saturday and looked no worse for the wear, striking out all three batters that he faced in a scoreless inning against the White Sox.

Advice: It wasn’t a save chance, as it was the seventh inning of a game where the Brewers trailed 3-1, but it was nice to see Megill look as dominant as ever after taking a scary line drive off of his arm during Monday’s game. He needed just 14 pitches (nine strikes) to dispatch of Zach Remillard, Tommy Pham and Korey Lee in order. Rotoworld Today, 3:15 pm
