    • Strong start spoiled
Gil (9-5) took the loss Sunday against the Red Sox, allowing one run on four hits and no walks while striking out nine over 6.2 innings.

Advice: Gil was locked into a scoreless pitcher's duel with Kutter Crawford until he gave up an opposite-field solo home run to Rafael Devers in the seventh. He retired one more batter after Devers and then exited the game and wound up with the loss after the Yankees ended up getting shut out. It was an encouraging showing for Gil nonetheless after he had surrendered 16 runs and posted a 6:9 K:BB in 9.2 innings over his prior three starts. Sunday was also the first time the 26-year-old managed to not walk a batter all year and the first time he reached six innings since June 4. Gil will look to generate one more strong start before the All-Star break and currently lines up to face the Orioles in Baltimore over the weekend. Rotowire.com 24 minutes ago

    • Keeps raking
Witt went 3-for-5 with a three-run home run and an additional run scored during Sunday's 10-1 win over Colorado.

Advice: Witt clubbed his 15th home run of the season, taking Ty Blach yard for a three-run homer in the ninth inning. The 24-year-old shortstop was named an AL All-Star reserve and has shown exactly why he's deserving of the honor lately, batting 12-for-23 with three homers and nine runs scored across his last seven games Rotowire.com Today, 12:44 am
    • Luis Gil fans nine Red Sox in tough-luck loss
Luis Gil was outstanding in a tough-luck loss against the Red Sox on Sunday night, racking up nine strikeouts over 6 2/3 innings of one-run baseball.

Advice: The 26-year-old hurler scattered just four hits on the evening and didn’t walk a batter. He was engaged in a scoreless pitcher’s duel with Kutter Crawford until he served up an opposite-field solo homer to Rafael Devers in the seventh inning. Gil generated 15 swings and misses on 96 pitches in the ballgame — seven on his fastball and six on his slider — while posting a CSW of 31 percent. He’ll look to replicate this fine outing and finish the first half strong as he brings a 3.27 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and a 111/48 K/BB ratio (96 1/3 innings) into a tough matchup against the Orioles in Baltimore on Saturday. • Drives in two in win
Arenado went 2-for-5 with two RBI in Sunday's 8-3 win over the Nationals.

Advice: Arenado continues his hot stretch at the plate with his third consecutive game of two or more hits. It's the second time this season he's put together a streak of three straight multi-hits, each of which has come over his last 22 appearances. He also picked up an RBI in consecutive games after a stretch where he only had two RBI in his last 14 games. The veteran's slash line sits at a solid .270/.322/.379 but a lack of homers - seven so far - has stunted his fantasy value. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:49 pm

    • Bobby Witt Jr. headlines A.L. All-Star reserves
Bobby Witt Jr. was named to his first American League All-Star team on Sunday.

Advice: It’s the first of what should be many All-Star nominations for the 24-year-old superstar shortstop. Witt has been outstanding this season, slashing .324/.372/.564 with 15 homers, 61 RBI, 72 runs scored and 22 stolen bases. He’ll be joined on the American League squad by fellow reserves Salvador Perez, Carlos Correa, Rafael Devers, Marcus Semien, Kyle Tucker, Josh Naylor, Isaac Paredes, Jarren Duran, Riley Greene and David Fry. • Grabs one-out save
Neris struck out the only batter he faced to earn the save in Sunday's 5-0 win over the Angels.

Advice: Neris was credited with the save after Luke Little loaded the bases with two outs in the ninth inning. Neris struck out Zach Neto on four pitches to end the threat. This is the second stretch of the season where Neris has avoided giving up a run over five consecutive appearances, with this scoreless streak at 4.1 innings. He has a 9:2 K:BB in that span, and for the season, the closer is up to 12 saves with a 4.06 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 33:22 K:BB across 31 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:18 pm

    • Bobby Witt Jr. goes 3-for-5, hits three-run homer
Bobby Witt Jr. went 3-for-5 with a three-run homer as the Royals crushed the Rockies 10-1 on Sunday.

Advice: Witt slumped just a bit over the second half of June, but he’s now collected 15 hits, including three homers, in his last seven games, pushing his OPS back up to .936. He’s second in the majors with a .324 average and tied for second with 72 runs scored. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:46 pm
    • Expects to play Monday
Correa (finger) expects to be in the lineup Monday versus the White Sox, Audra Martin of Bally Sports North reports.

Advice: Correa exited Sunday's 3-2 win over Houston with a bruised right finger in the first inning, but he explained to Martin after the game that he doesn't expect the injury to sideline him moving forward. The shortstop will look to bring his expectation to fruition in Monday's series opener on the road against the White Sox. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:40 pm

    • Carlos Correa (finger) expects to play on Monday
Carlos Correa (finger) told reporters after Sunday’s game that he expects to return to the Twins’ starting lineup on Monday.

Advice: Correa was pulled from Sunday’s game after being hit by a pitch, but fortunately X-rays came back negative for any structural damage and he’s merely dealing with a right finger contusion. If the 29-year-old shortstop says that he’s good enough to play on Monday, then chances are he’ll be in the Twins’ lineup for their series opener against the White Sox in Chicago.
