    • Tanner Bibee starting on Friday vs. Padres
Tanner Bibee will start Friday’s second-half opener against the Padres.

Advice: It’ll be Gavin Williams and Ben Lively taking the ball this weekend for the remainder of the three-game second-half opening home series against the Padres. Bibee got hit hard in his final two outings prior to the Midsummer Classic, but has emerged as a borderline elite strikeout source over the last few weeks. The uptick in whiffs could lead to a monster second half. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:43 pm
    • Senga (shoulder) will make one more rehab start
According to Newsday’s Tim Healey, Kodai Senga (shoulder) will make one more rehab start with Triple-A Syracuse.

Advice: Senga was up to 66 pitches in his last rehab start and Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said he could possibly return to the big league rotation. Instead, Senga will make another start in the minors and perhaps build up his pitch count before returning to the Mets’ rotation in another week. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:27 am

    • Needs one more rehab start
Senga (shoulder/triceps) is expected to make another rehab start with Triple-A Syracuse this weekend, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Advice: After building up to 4.2 innings and 67 pitches in his most recent rehab outing with Syracuse this past Sunday, Senga looked like he might have had a chance at making his next start with the big club, but the Mets will instead send him out for one more tune-up appearance in the minors. Assuming Senga is able to build on his pitch count and experiences no setbacks during his upcoming minor-league outing, he could return from the 60-day injured list to make his 2024 Mets debut during the club's home series with Atlanta that begins July 25. Senga was placed on the IL coming out of spring training with a strained right shoulder, then battled triceps inflammation during the rehab process that ended up setting him back further. • Not playing in All-Star Game
Correa (heel) was removed Monday from the American League All-Star Game roster and was replaced by the Rangers' Corey Seager, the Associated Press reports.

Advice: Though Correa is still expected to attend All-Star festivities in Arlington, Texas this week, his removal from the roster comes as little surprise after he missed the Twins' final two games before the break due to plantar fasciitis in his right heel. Dan Hayes of The Athletic relays that Correa's latest case of plantar fasciitis isn't as severe as his bout with the injury to his left foot during 2023 season, but it's not yet clear whether Correa will be back in action when the Twins return to action Saturday versus the Brewers. • Out of All-Star Game with thumb injury
Arraez will attend All-Star festivities in Texas but won't play for the National League in Tuesday's game due to a jammed left thumb, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Advice: Arraez first hurt the thumb while sliding into third base June 25. He has played in all but two of San Diego's games since then, most recently sitting out Sunday's 6-3 loss to Atlanta. While Arraez has mostly been able to remain in the lineup despite the injury, he admitted that the thumb hurts "a lot" when he swings and catches the ball. The issue probably won't be anything that causes him to miss much, if any, additional time in games that count, but he'll use the All-Star break to rest the jammed thumb rather than risking further injury in the exhibition contest. • Earns save No. 22
Iglesias picked up the save in Sunday's 6-3 win over the Padres, tossing a clean ninth inning while striking out a batter in the process.

Advice: Iglesias was able to preserve a three-run lead for Atlanta and help the team go into the break on a positive note. He began with a strikeout against Kyle Higashioka before retiring David Peralta and Jurickson Profar on a pair of lineouts. Iglesias hasn't allowed a run in each of his last eight appearances and last blew a save back on May 3. The 34-year-old isn't striking out as many batters as he has throughout his career but is still posting superb numbers. Iglesias is now up to 22 saves and will take a 2.02 ERA, 0.79 WHIP and 31:7 K:BB (35.2 innings) into the second half of the season. Rotowire.com Monday, 7:53 am
    • Stays hot on basepaths
Thomas went 1-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base in Sunday's loss to the Brewers.

Advice: The 28-year-old outfielder is sprinting into the All-Star break. While Thomas' homer drought stands at 23 games, he's reached base safely in all 14 games in July, slashing .298/.375/.351 for the month with three doubles, four RBI, six runs and six of his 23 steals on the season. • Notches third steal
Mountcastle went 1-for-5 with a stolen base in Sunday's 6-5 win over the Yankees.

Advice: Mountcastle's steal was his third of the year, putting him one shy of matching his career high. The first baseman's speed isn't notable, but he's been steady at the plate, going 10-for-40 (.250) over 10 contests in July. Overall, he's slashing .271/.311.,447 with 12 home runs, 43 RBI, 44 runs scored, 22 doubles and a triple through 88 games this season. Rotowire.com Sunday, 11:00 pm
    • Solid in abbreviated start
Scherzer didn't factor into the decision Sunday against Houston, allowing one run on four hits and one walk with six strikeouts across four innings.

Advice: Scherzer didn't complete five innings for the first time since being activated from the injured list June 23 and threw only 71 pitches after tossing 95 pitches in his previous start. Though he didn't go deep into the contest, Scherzer was very effective, with the lone run against him coming in the third on a solo home run by Jake Meyers. The 39-year-old has logged a 2.96 ERA and a 23:4 K:BB across 27.1 innings heading into the All-Star break. Rotowire.com Sunday, 9:22 pm
