    • Heading to bench Thursday
Fry is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the White Sox.

Advice: Fry has a .606 OPS over his past 12 games and will take a seat for Thursday's contest. Jose Ramirez will rest his legs as the designated hitter while Gabriel Arias receives a start at the hot corner. Rotowire.com Thursday, 9:40 am

    • Could return Sunday
Cabrera (shoulder) was spotted in the Marlins' clubhouse Thursday and could be activated from the 60-day injured list to start Sunday versus the White Sox, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The Marlins said previously that Cabrera would make one more rehab start. However, the club has an opening in its rotation Sunday after optioning Valente Bellozo, and that's the first day Cabrera is eligible for activation. Cabrera -- who has been out since early May with a right shoulder impingement -- has posted a 4.50 ERA and 15:4 K:BB over 10 innings in three rehab starts. He would be relatively limited from a pitch-count perspective Sunday after throwing 67 pitches in his last rehab outing. Rotowire.com Thursday, 7:59 am
    • Three-run shot in loss
Freeman went 2-for-3 with a three-run homer and two walks in Wednesday's loss to the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Freeman put the Dodgers ahead with a three-run blast in the bottom of the first and proceeded to reach base four times in the contest in a losing effort. It was the first baseman's 13th long ball of the season and the fourth in his last 15 games. Over that latter stretch he's batting .327 (18-for-55) with 14 RBI and 10 runs scored. Freeman has also recorded multiple hits in back-to-back games and in three of his last four. Rotowire.com Thursday, 7:50 am
    • Logs hit in return
Seager went 1-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's 6-4 loss to the Padres.

Advice: Seager, who had been dealing with a wrist injury, was a late addition to the starting lineup and was back at his normal shortstop position, batting second. He had missed the previous two games after getting hit by a pitch on the left wrist last Saturday. Rotowire.com Thursday, 5:11 am
    • Gets aboard three times
Profar went 2-for-4 with a walk, one stolen base and one run scored in Wednesday's 6-4 win over the Rangers.

Advice: Profar saw a 13-game hitting streak end Tuesday, but he bounced right back in Wednesday's win. The outfielder also logged his fifth steal of the season and his first since June 6. Overall, he's maintained an excellent .314/.407/.472 slash line with 11 home runs, 55 RBI, 48 runs scored and 15 doubles through 88 contests. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 11:23 pm
    • Two thefts in win
Kim went 1-for-3 with a hit-by-pitch, two stolen bases and one run scored in Wednesday's 6-4 win over the Rangers.

Advice: Kim has hit safely in 10 of his last 11 games, going 12-for-38 (.316) in that span. His pair of steals Wednesday were his first since June 20, and he's up to 18 thefts on 21 attempts this season. The infielder has added a .227/.335/.383 slash line with 10 home runs, 38 RBI, 46 runs scored, 10 doubles and three triples through 88 contests. One of Kim, Luis Arraez, Jake Cronenworth or Donovan Solano is likely to lose hold of an everyday role once Xander Bogaerts (shoulder) returns, which could be in about a week if he can get through a rehab assignment without setbacks. • Freddie Freeman reaches four times, homers Wednesday
Freddie Freeman went 2-for-2 with a three-run homer and two walks against the Diamondbacks on Wednesday.

Advice: Freeman put the Dodgers on the board with a three-run blast off Cristian Mena in the first inning. He then drew a pair of walks and added a base hit in the eighth to reach in all four plate appearances. The 34-year-old first baseman is hitting .302/.404/.516 with 13 homers, 54 runs scored, 56 RBI, and three steals across 381 plate appearances. Rotoworld Wednesday, 10:38 pm
    • Blake Snell dominates in final rehab start
Blake Snell delivered a dominant performance in his final minor league rehab start at Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday, piling up nine strikeouts over five scoreless frames.

Advice: The reigning National League Cy Young award winner didn’t allow a hit in the contest, allowing just one base on balls. Snell got up to 67 pitches (46 strikes) in this one, cruising through his five innings. As long as he checks out fine physically, expect him to rejoin the Giants’ rotation next week. • Corey Seager added to Rangers lineup on Wednesday
Corey Seager (hand) was added to the Rangers’ starting lineup for Wednesday night’s battle against the Padres.

Advice: As manager Bruce Bochy had alluded to earlier in the day, Seager checked out good and was a late addition to the Rangers’ lineup. Jonathan Ornelas — who had been scheduled to start at third base — was scratched from the lineup with Josh Smith shifting back from shortstop to third base. Rotoworld Wednesday, 3:51 pm
