He generated only nine swinging strikes, but consistently filled up the strike zone, finishing with a robust 34 percent CSW. The 28-year-old righty has been impressive of late, surrendering three earned runs or fewer in eight of his last nine outings since April 30. Another multi-hit effort TuesdayAndujar went 2-for-4 with an RBI infield single in a win over the Royals on Tuesday.
Advice: The hot-hitting veteran kept rolling Tuesday, authoring his fifth two-hit tally in the last nine games while recording his first RBI since June 1. Andujar hasn't provided much pop of late -- he counts a pair of doubles as his only extra-base hits in that aforementioned nine-game span -- but his .314/.326/.430 slash line across 89 plate appearances this season is essentially above reproach. Advice: Raley's 371-foot shot to left in the fifth inning extended the Mariners' lead to 6-1 while serving as his second homer in the last six games and fourth of June overall. The offseason arrival has followed up his career year with the Rays last season in reasonably good form, as he's now sporting a solid .258 average and .749 OPS across 62 games. Dealing with oblique strainDominguez has been diagnosed with a left oblique strain, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.
Advice: Dominguez suffered the injury on a check swing over the weekend while playing at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The severity of the strain isn't known yet, but even a low-grade strain figures to cost the young outfielder multiple weeks of action. Trevor Megill barely avoids game-tying homerTrevor Megill barely retired the only batter he faced for his 14th save Tuesday against the Angels.
Advice: The Brewers led this one 6-0 going into the bottom of the ninth, but both Elieser Hernández and Joel Payamps struggled to put the game away. Megill came in with the tying run at the plate and gave up a long flyball to Taylor Ward that Sal Frelick made a jumping catch on at the wall. Statcast said it would have been a homer in zero of MLB’s 30 stadiums, but it did look like it would have gotten over the wall in Angel Stadium if Frelick hadn’t gotten in the way. Zack Gelof hits three-run homer, steals baseZack Gelof went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer and a steal as Oakland’s No. 9 hitter Tuesday against the Royals.
