      Advice: Burleson has picked up multiple hits in three of his last six games. He's also stolen two bases in his last three games and five over his last 15. The 25-year-old's impressive first half has been a key factor in the Cardinals turnaround as he's settled into the second spot in the lineup.       Corbin Carroll took the Padres’ Dylan Cease deep Sunday for his first homer since May 7.

      Advice: Carroll hit the ball 397 feet, his second-farthest shot this year. It’s the first time since that May 7 homer that he’d hit one over 370 feet.       Heim went 4-for-5 with a solo home run, a double, an additional RBI and three total runs scored in Sunday's 13-2 win over the Rays.

      Advice: Heim tied the game with an RBI single in the fourth inning before adding a solo shot in the sixth. The catcher has gone 15-for-41 (.366) with two homers, four RBI and eight runs scored over his last 12 contests.       Advice: Baz will make a second straight turn through the Tampa Bay rotation as he continues to fill the spot that belonged to Aaron Civale, who was traded to the Brewers last week. After being called up from Triple-A Durham on Friday to make his first start for the Rays since July 10, 2022, Baz struck out six while allowing three runs on seven hits and one walk over six innings in a loss to the Rangers. Though he maintains a hold on a rotation spot for now, Baz could still be at some risk of losing out on a starting role once Jeffrey Springs (elbow) eventually returns from the 60-day injured list.       Pirates’ rookie right-hander Paul Skenes was named to his first National League All-Star team on Sunday, despite having logged just 59 1/3 innings at the big-league level.

      Advice: It’s the first of what should be many All-Star game nods for the studly 22-year-old hurler who has gone 5-0 with a 2.12 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and a 78/12 K/BB ratio through his first 10 MLB starts.       Chapman (1-4) blew a save and was tagged with Sunday's loss to the Mets. He allowed two runs on two hits, three walks and two strikeouts in 0.2 innings.

      Advice: Chapman entered with a one-run lead in the ninth but loaded the bases and gave up a go-ahead two-run single to Francisco Lindor. Chapman was erratic with his control as he matched his season-high with three walks and threw 40 pitches, his third-most in an outing in his career. The veteran has been the Pirates closer since David Bednar went down with an oblique injury, but this is now three straight outings in which he gives up at least one run.       Jonah Heim went 4-for-5 with a home run, three runs scored, and two RBI in a win over the Rays on Sunday.

      Advice: The home run was his eighth on the season to go along with 36 RBI. Heim is hitting just .247 on the season but has been hitting better of late, going 15-for-49 (.306) over his last 15 games with two home runs, nine runs scored, and five RBI.     • Aroldis Chapman loses control, blows save
      Aroldis Chapman walked three batters, allowed two hits and two earned runs in a disastrous ninth inning on Sunday against the Mets. He also struck out two batters.

      Advice: The Mets took some tremendous at bats against Chapman in this ninth inning. Francisco Alvarez walked on eight pitches. Harrison Bader laced a single after seven pitches. Then Jose Iglesias walked after eight pitches and multiple foul balls to load the bases for Francisco Lindor who promptly hit a go-ahead single. All in all, Chapman threw 40 pitches!
